- Johnny Depp speaks out after the verdict in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor shares a statement to Instagram, writing in part, 'Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me. I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that.' The jury awarded Depp $15 million, while a second count in Heard's countersuit was found in her favor and she was awarded $2 million in damages. However, the judge knocked Depp's award down to $10,350,000, per law in Virginia.

I always get choked up with that picture of Johnny passed out, curled up on the floor in a dark black suit. I can imagine a young Johnny doing the same after being mentally/emotionally abused by his mother. It never left him. And Amber? Amber didn't wrap a blanket around him, didn't put a pillow under his head, didn't care for him, didn't love him. No. She betrayed him. Left him there on the cold floor, snapped photos, laughing coldly.
OR he just rolled up in a ball to play "dead" so she'd stop verbally abusing him. He didn't need that and like you said, he just curled up . SHE was the abuser. She showed that and proved it when she was on the stand. She was slandering the hell out of him and you could tell most of what she said was made up. Was so obvious. She's a sick mean lady. God bless that man! He never deserved for this to happen to him. Justice was served after years of hate and vitriol being thrown at him. For years evidence of her abuse against him has been out there for the world to see. The media ignored it, covered it up and elevated her claims against him. Finally people were able to see the truth through all of her lies as they fell apart on the stand, in real time! Finally people could see her allegations were ever changing, evolving and constantly growing. Finally she had to admit the lie that she had fully "DONATED" her divorce settlement, was in fact a lie! Finally they saw she did in fact want something. That she actually demanded a lot. They saw she wasn't isolated but instead surrounded by her family and just about every friend she ever had. All of whom were being completely supported by him. They saw HE was the one isolated and withdrawn. That he habitually tried to escape the chaos and drama and that she would chase him down and attack him to make him stay. They heard her say exactly that! They heard her say she would hit him but because she couldn't hurt him it didn't count. They heard her mock him for not taking her abuse. They saw someone who thought she could get away with DV because she was a female. They saw the truth! We can take all victims seriously without convicting someone before the evidence can be heard and they are proven guilty. We can fight DV without silencing alleged victims solely because they are men. We can support women who come forward without assuming and declaring that they are incapable of lying just because of their gender! Addiction and struggling with sobriety doesn't automatically make you guilty! Facts matter! Prior, and continued, inconsistent statements matter! After watching the entire trial for weeks and listening to the recordings as well as Amber's testimony, it becomes shockingly clear when she is being fake or dishonest. Start comparing her clips from other interviews with media or on talkshows and it' very eerie. Her entire persona is a facade. This girl needs to be on meds for her and her child's own good.

It's disheartening to find people still siding with her after the factual evidence has been presented. The evidence submitted is significant compared to Amber's misleading, created, and misrepresented in her defense. It hurts my soul when people use the sentence about other women in domestic abuse which has nothing in comparison in this case. I know what domestic abuse is and I know how the characteristics, behavior, and manipulative those beings can be. The behavior panel does an excellent job and I have no clue how someone could still believe the lies after seeing their review. But that’s just my opinion. Happy for Johnny regardless 🥰
@@Myndabear while I agree mostly. body language experts aren’t a thing. Everybody has different body language, to think that is universal enough to essentially read someone’s mind is ridiculous.
She has PR, and some people once entrenched don’t care about the evidence. Much of the current spin is just her PR firm and her lawyers. She has little support, just smoke and mirrors. By and large the world stood up and said no, that’s enough, it stops here. He has his life back, he has his reputation back, which was never perfect but it was his and he never hid from it. I hope she finds help she is a sick person and I hope he finds his peace and can finally hold his head up again.

However, the behavior panel is a team of 4 guys who have extensive experience. They have watched her to determine her baseline which would be her normal reactions. Then compared her baseline to her reactions in court. It’s not definitive, but gives a lot of insight.
@@Bea-a-deer Additionally, their reviews are not one size fits all. They do not claim any one reaction means the same for any one person. This isn’t your typical “she moved her chin down and that means she’s hiding something”. It’s much more than that and an interesting thing to watch. They also reviewed Johnny, lawyers, the royal family, true crime cases etc. Their videos are LONG, but I recommend giving it 5 minutes if you’re open to it. 😊

I'm happy and thankful that justice has been served. That said, the number of comments I've seen saying "this will set women back years " is ridiculous. I have never ever heard anyone say that about a male r**ist or abuser - ever...because "not all men". Amber maliciously tried to ruin his career and now she is being held accountable. I hope the same passion is brought to abusers who need to pay for their sins.

Alcohol and drugs is just a part of normal adult life for majority of men. People use these as ways to cope and to feel better. I do believe he has been sober for a long time now and you can see he is doing great. I hope everyone famous or not gets help with substance and alcohol abuse.

She thinks she had a mountain of evidence for physical abuse? That's crazy, Johnny was sleeping in most of them. She only proved he had substance abuse and needed help. And in the slamming cupboards video she wasn't afraid of him at all because she stood right there and kept talking. If she was afraid of him she would have at least moved farther away from him and she wouldn't have kept talking. Plus in that video she said she wasn't at home that night and that she was sorry, sorry for what? No wonder he was taking it out on the cupboards, she should have said what he was mad about, she's a shit show, literally. He didn't even hit her back when she hit him. She is crazy! Johnny had evidence of her saying she hit him in more than one audio. She got off easy, she made him lose 6 years of work. And she knows damn well that she threw the bottle that cut off his finger, talk about abuse and never admitting to it! Ironically AH was the ones that doom herself in the trials, many of the damage comes from her own mouth during the recording of her admitted to hit JD and also her slip up during the cross examination...
