Im 37 and started when covid killed my winter season. Hard to make progress without friends. But people my age are laughing at me. The reason I keep trying. Make them mad lol

I skated from the age of 12 to 17 and I've never been able to successfully land a kickflip two months ago me and my buddy who are close to the same age 30 we've decided that we're done being lazy and we started skating again and that kickflip is just staring back at me waiting for me to try more it's hard but Rick you've given me that power that drive I will stand on that board until I do it! FIRST TRY!!!!
I'm 40 years old and as of last week skateboarding again after a 23 year break.

Dude...i just ist skated for the first time in 20 years yesterday. I only skated for like 2 hrs or so and I can barely move my muscles right now. Literally feel like death. I got kickflips withing my first 3 tries but mad props to Rick G for going that long without physically giving out and not giving up
I hear you dude. 38 years old here. it's always my feet and ankles that hurts me. Going to have to invest in some top notch shoes to tear up.

This is amazing. I met a 59 year old longboarder this spring and his passion inspired me to go from just cruising about on my cruiser to buying a popsicle deck and learning my first few tricks. One day I'll be a cool guy like Rick G and land my first kickflip!

So, I started skating around 10 and stopped at 17 when I joined the army. I'm now 45 and recently just picked up my first skateboard so that I could do something outdoors with my children any time anywhere. I realize I'm back to beginner status having to re-learn how to ollie and everything after. But having seen Rick G do what I've NEVER been able to accomplish, I am inspired like never before!
This channel has been great for me and the children! Thanks guys for all that you do!

I started Skating at 33... you can do it...
I just got back into skating about 3 weeks ago. I'm 38 yrs old. Muscle memory is an amazing thing. I still have it after all these years. HOWEVER I'm a lot more sore after sessions than I used to be. The cool thing is I only feel sore after skating not during.

this video literally made me cry, 1 because rick g looks like my grandfather who passed about two years ago and 2 because i felt his emotion when he landed that kickflip. i cant skate any more but boy do i miss that pushing around hanging with friends and learning new things together.

Funny story.....Im 36, and havent touched a skateboard since i was 5 or 6.....i saw the amazing Rick G, and got so stoked! I bought a braille complete, and a pair of braille shoes!(cant wait for the shoes!) I've been skating for 3 weeks, and did my first rolling ollie yesterday! Im now on a new journey in life, and loving it! Thank you guys for inspiring me 🙏 !!

@@jonkR96 I still have my old setup too. Stopped skating around the same time. It's so aged it has no more concave, the grip tape is smooth , it's flimsy and the spitfire wheels are like 45mm lol.

I will be 50 in July, skateboarding was my refuge and if it was not for skateboarding I would have never become the father that I am,. My son is 21 and we still skate together when we hang out. I recently became a millionaire because of dogecoin and quit my job to become a skateboarder and compete in the x games. It was a childhood dream since I was a kid watching tony hawk do the 900. So I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity. But my family hated it and kept telling me I am too old for the x games. I'm 38. So I just sent them this video to them. Thank you!
