I'm 32 and just learning to skate at a very basic level. Grateful to see older people shred and always grateful to see the younger people cheering us on. Best community hands down.
also 32, used to skate everyday thru teens then got in a very bad accident n hit by a car while skating, even though all that happened ive recently gotten back into skating and the emotional and mental help its given me is indescribable, keep shredding brother
So glad to play some amazing games of skate with the absolute legend Rick G. Thanks Aaron for putting this together, Gabe for filming, and the team for the HYPE! What an amazing experience. ❤️❤️❤️
I started at 36, 420 lbs in january, its august and Im now 370 lbs and 37. So its doable, highly recomend pads and a helmet. Check out the braille kickflip boot camp series especially episodes one and two. That helped me out a ton and Also there is the new skateboarding made simple volume zero.
@@timothyquinn4919 gratz on the weight loss fam! I have trouble learning from the braille videos cuz I can’t physically make a lot the motions they describe (knee and ankle surgeries), but if there’s a new one I’ll check it out. Thanks brotha!
I’m 42 years old and just started skating again in 2020 after a 16 year break… it’s inspiring to see these dudes going out of their comfort zone cuz I’m struggling with a few tricks and I know I just need to nut up and commit!!! Thanks braille for all u do!!
Yeah that was the hardest thing is the commitment part, once I did I was able to land my first Ollie at 53 so just try and have faith in yourself and land whatever trick your working on you got this!
Yeah man it's cool to see any "older" person pick up skateboarding. You guys are doing stuff at 50 that I could NEVER do in my prime. Really cool to see that skateboarding is the one community that truly doesn't exclude anyone.
Thank you Aaron/Braille House for the Inspiration! 2 weeks ago i took my board out and put new wheels, bushings and bearings. Been knocking the rust off this old 54 year old body. For now im riding on the streets. Hopefully i will get enough courage to ride the Mayfair Skate park here in SJ and its only 2 blocks down from my house. You Aaron those 2 guys are such a inspiration to the community. Thank you for keeping skateboarding alive. ~Stay Blessed
Very soon to be a 47yr old teenager 🤙, came back to skating 5 years ago after 27 year hiatus and I agree with Rick G skateboarding is the best thing out there, all the tricks I’ve learnt the homies and friends of all ages I’ve met since getting back into it has been amazing and inspirational, always pushing to learn more and more and of course having fun with it, the only issues with old man skateboarding is the fear or getting over the fear of trying new tricks but when I do the feeling of landing a new trick is unmatched so to all the oldies out there go for it enjoy it and keep at it 👊. Special thanks to all the Braille team too as you guys make skateboarding fun and accessible to everyone….peace 👊
31, used to skate a lot when I was younger, stopped for a bit, then broke my hip at 27(not skate related, got my wife a dog for her birthday, and it broke my hip 4 days later 😅), and after a few years and coming back to watch you guys, I'm now re-learning how to overcome all the fear associated with "I have a metal rod in my leg going from the ball joint to my knee, if I fall, its back to the hospital". But I mean, I had to learn how to walk again, I figured "It's time to learn to skate again!" You guys are a huge inspiration, and never stop what you're doing!
Turning 52 in a few days and just started skating again after 30 years. Loving it and love your videos! Helps to know I'm not the only old man out there.
I'm 49 and desperately trying to get back to skating, it's so painful and frustrating...love this vid it gives me a little extra MOJO for tomorrow's sesh...
I'm 40 and just started skating with my 4 year old son. He got a board first...Had to get one for myself as well. Just learning to ollie and cruising at the local skateparks. Next to drop-in! 🎉 Full protective gear, of course! Greetings from Finland!
47 and just got into longboarding. I hadn't been on a board since 95. Been at home nursing a knee injury(not skate related) and watching a ton of Braille videos. Now I want a skate board as well.
You guys are an inspiration! And thank you Braille team for the vids. 46 and haven't been on a skateboard since I was in high school. Never ridden at a park, took a lesson last weekend on a rental, and was doing pretty clean FS/BS kickturns by the end. New board arrives in a few days, and excited to do more.
I am 41. Been watching this channel since the beginning. Still skate and absolutely love the culture. Favorite trick to do is hard flip and of course tre. Then kickplip.
36 over here!!And you dudes inspired me to jump back on a board after 16 yrs. Rusty AF but having a blast relearning and learning new tricks. Thanks dudes
Finally the video I was waiting for!! I am 46 years old and just got back into skateboarding after 28 years. Watching Aaron's skate tutorials along with the Braille app inspired me to get back into skateboarding as a way to get healthy again. I would love to see you guys do a series with Rick G and Ryan learning new tricks. I know that would get an older guy like me to push harder and get better. Thanks guys!!
I'm 42 and still love skateboarding. I've been following you all for a while now and it's because of you all that I went and bought a complete skateboard this past year after not skating everyday for about 15 years. I really haven't been able to skate much due to my health but I still watch your videos everyday and get inspired to want to go skate. I love what you all bring to the skateboard community and I wish one day I can come out there and skate with you all and learn some things. These two guys and Aaron are soo inspiring to us older folks. Keep on shredding guys! Cheers!
And this right here is why I always tell everyone who says Im too anything to skate I say only thing stopping you is you, Im 47 and just getting back into it, keep shredding bros!
Really fun video. You can see those guys having fun and its awesome. Inspired me to go back on skate at age of 36. Wont lie, while sleep i dream that i skate. Still can feel it in my legs!
I am 35 I haven't skated since I was a teen. Just got my Braille board in the mail a couple days ago. Trying to get my daughters into it. Wish me luck!
Ya got me, I'm 35. And I ride onewheel now a days. LOVE every second of it. So shreddy. This is massively impressive to me. My knees wouldn't hold up 10 mins doing what these boys are doing. I always love brailles energy too. Fills my house with goodness. Cheers
These guys deserve respect. Most of my buddies have given up skateboarding, you know, age, family and all that nonsense. Real skateboarding is timeless.
58 years old, started skateboarding in 1978. The first skateboard I had was home-made from roller skates and wood board.😂still sk8 vert concrete bowls, full pads and helmet, of course. Built half pipe, 10' and 12' high back in 1982. Sk8 for Life.
@jeffkendel1570 I don't take tests, I sk8. I have nothing to prove to anyone, I sk8 for enjoyment. I would definitely love to sk8 Klamath Falls sk8 park, but it is over 3000 miles from my home, maybe some year I'll get to Oregon.
Unironically two of the best/most entertaining games of SKATE I've watched. Not to mention the bonus of some personal nbds for both skaters. So cool! Also I'm 35.
31 years old and just got an STS deck last week. Ive longboarded for over a decade but cant even ollie. No time like the present to learn though, and brailles probably going to teach me. Lets see how it goes!
This was seriously awesome to watch... like, I was leaning forward on my chair, stoked for both guys... btw, I'm 46 and this actually made me feel that I could get back on a board. Great job!
At age 58 I approve of this video! lol! I make my own custom hardwood longboards, I surfskate and longboard. Grew up in the heyday of skateboarding, had steel wheels, clay wheels and then urethane wheels.....

Just reached 35 ando got back to skateboard after a 10 year breack. Thanks braille for the video that is so inspiring for the oldies out there like me ❤
You guys both did awesome, I can't wait to be 2-3 years into skating just to see where I'm at by then. Been learning so quickly I'm amazed lol didn't know i had it in me til I bought a board and started skating (:
Stopped skating years ago and I’m only 29 😂. More than ever I’ve been wanting to get back into it and this is only inspiration. Anyone in the Anaheim/OC area want to gather and skate?
Turned 60 this spring and dusted off my old 1970s Fibreflex and started skating again and absolutely loving it! Bought a Waltz freestyle board so I don't destroy the vintage board and focusing on flat ground footwork stuff for now. Also got a Comet cruiser for carving and flowing. Skating almost everyday now. I'm having way too much fun!
I'm about to turn 31, and recently decided to get back into skating. Going to have to take things slow as I have a connective tissue defect, but watching your videos always makes me want to get back out on my board!
