Good Day, I am enjoying your honest reviews of Mexico, particularly Puerto Vallarta. We are retirees (mostly) and will be visiting in January for the third time. I am also exploring whether PV is a possible relocation location ( to escape the Central Canadian deep freeze). We will arrive in PV January 7/2025 and hope to see you on your strolls or even meet for dinner. Keep up the great videos. Cheers, Les
Thank you. Mexico just elected an educated policy informed president. Safety for the masses also comes from having the right people in positions of power. The US could learn from that. Sorry if this seems off topic.
I think you have a good point there. It is a complicated issue and getting the "right people" in positions of power is difficult. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice show today. Tijuana had nearly 2,000 murders in 2023 in contrast to 21 in Puerto Vallarta during the same period. So I’d agree with you wholeheartedly about the safety in Puerto Vallarta. But like anywhere, we have to be aware of our surroundings. Also love not needing to own a car. Amazing.
@@npolfus1 yes! I go to Andrea at “Phebel” on Francisco Madero. I just stick my head in the door and ask if she’s available sometime today or tomorrow. Let me know if you go!
¡Hola! When you travel during the summer, do you keep your apartment in Puerto Vallarta? We are going to La Paz, BCS this winter from 🇨🇦. Can’t wait! Great videos! ¡Gracias!
Yes, we do. It's so easy to leave some of our "stuff" behind so that we can travel lightly. Happy for you to be able to go to La Paz. We haven't been to La Paz yet, but a friend tells me it was really hot there during the summer as well. Probably great for the winter, eh? Thanks for watching and commenting.
When you leave your apartment for a few months in summer, do you do anything to prevent mold? I hear that's an issue because of the humidity. Your earrings are adorable!
Glad you like my earrings! :) It is fun finding them here in Mexico. We keep windows open as well as the closet doors. I put some linens in plastic bags and other things in plastic tubs. We hang DampRid in the closets. Plus we pay our housekeeper to come every two weeks to clean and air the place out...as needed. It can really be a challenge here during the summer. We have looked at some apartments, that as soon as you walk in, you smell the musty odor. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great day :)
ok admit I did not listen to some of this, but I looked up the current rules on the Mexican website for immigration.... and to stay longer than just a tourist using a residence visa seems pricey. Primary costs I read about for 2025 include the following (there are a few other options).... and this seems more than a lot of people might expect. Temporary residency - lasts 4 years (renewable once I read) you usually need to prove $4350 USD a month or 12 months of $73K USD for 12 months in savings/investments OR own property in Mexico worth about $586,000USD. Permanent residency - never expires but you usually need to show around $7,300 USD monthly or 293,000USD in savings/investments for 12 months. WOW. So i may be too poor to immigrate to mexico.
Great info video perfect!!
Thanks for watching, and we like to LOOK at crocodiles in the wild. Not that we want one for a pet LOL Thanks for watching :)
Love that you're sharing, thank you

Yes, it is important to be aware of your surroundings in any city. Glad you enjoyed the video.

$60 pedicure in UT! I was shocked as well.
Crazy! Is UT for Utah?
@ & gel nails were $15 additional dollars

Thanks for doing that research! Are you considering a move to Mexico?
@kleek2217 keep researching! There are other ways - without being rich
What about the smell of open sewer?
What do you mean?
Every once in awhile we might experience an open sewer smell, not often though. Where are you smelling the open sewer?
