Thanks for the video! I have this engine in my MK7 fiesta and due to a knackered PCV valve, i fear i have a fair bit of oil in my intercooler! This video will be very helpful! Thanks again 😊👍
@Philthy82 You're very welcome. I was surprised quite how common this engine is. Gives me confidence that fundamentally it's a good design. I was quite lucky but I had seen people pouring a significant amount of oil out of these. Best of luck with it. 👍
@@channelone4655 thanks mate, it had a bit in there (dripping, not pouring out) but all the sensors in the throttle body were covered in oil which I have cleaned so that should fix the rough idle! 😁 Thanks again!
@Philthy82 Hopefully so. The injector sealing washers are a common cause of poor running too. But you normally hear a chuffing noise and have what looks like oil on the top of the head when they fail.
Thanks for this video it made me feel confident to do this to my own car , ( doing a replacement turbo ) will look forward to. many more videos. Good luck for the future
Not that I'm aware of. Did you spot something in the video? Because the engine crankcase pressure vents into the air intake, (after the air filter), oil mist is blown through the turbo, the intercooler, the throttle body and into the combustion chamber. Any joint not completely sealed, (aside from loosing efficiency), could leak oil.
@@Atlantistrance Firstly, Happy New Year 🎉 Now, if, from the front of the car, you look at the exhaust rocker cover, on the right is a pipe that comes out and into the air intake pipe. This is the pipe leading to the turbo mentioned above and why the intercooler can collect oil. But as I said it blows through the whole intake from there. If you undid the pipe entering the throttle body, cleaned the joining surfaces with some spray carb or brake cleaner, and refitted as tight as possible this might stop the leak. I wouldn't recommend it but a thin smear of silicone sealant around the joint before reassembly would fill any minor paths the oil was leaking from. Best of luck. 👍
@@Atlantistrance LoL. When you're busy, it's surprising what we forget. You can mail me at channel1diagnostics@gmail.com with pictures etc if there's things your not sure of. Take care.

@@channelone4655 thanks for the tip, I'll find out once reassembled! 🤞
Thanks you a lot mate, my best wishes for you and your son!
Your very welcome, and so kind too. Peace be with you always.

Do you have oil leaking from the throttle body above the intercooler?

@@channelone4655 no I never noticed anything but I have that problem.
I thought that process was the other way around?
