Unlikely, but possible. The six time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots were coached by Bill Belichick, who also won two Super Bowl titles as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. The Patriots were prepared with 8 defensive linemen and 3 DBs for a “jumbo” package. That’s a defense specifically prepared to stuff the run. And it’s not like Marshawn has never been stopped at the 1 yard line before. In the 2013 NFC CG, 49ers against Seahawks, Marshawn fumbled trying to punch it in from one yard out and the 49ers recovered. There was some atrocious officiating in that NFC CG as well, but that’s another story.

As for the first, you can thank the defense. George Lynch in particular. The better question is why Webber wasn't called for the blatant walk Lynch forced him into about 5 seconds before the technical. Ref was literally staring at the play.
As a Patriots fan that was the greatest play call in the history of the game. But as a fan of Marshawn Lynch as a person and player. I feel so sorry for him. Wilson is a prima donna, they wanted to get him the MVP to keep him happy. Never been a Seahawks fan, but Marshawn will always be my favorite player of all times.
To this day I cannot belive that call. Marshawn Lynch is one of the greatest RBs of all time. In terms of sheer power, one of, if not the best. The fact everyone would know it was going to him, and still be unable to stop him, is precisely why he is considered one of the greatest to ever do it. If you asked people which RB you wanted in that exact scenario, Beast Mode would be a the top of most peoples list. I firmly belive now, as I did before that dumbass call, that in that situation, even with everyone and their mother knowing the ball was going to go to him, he was not going to be stopped. Great players like him live for moments like that. They've dreamed about them since they were kids. There was nothing on this earth that could have stopped Marshawn Lynch on that play, at that moment in time.
Ive been a Rams fan for 46 years and even I was pulling for the Seahawks to win that game. When Marshawn Lynch nearly scored the play before, I said to myself, the next play is a touchdown Marshawn for sure. I couldn't believe the call....You can tell that moment still hurts Marshawn, and rightfully so.
As a Patriots fan. In that moment before the play, I remember telling my buddy that the best case scenario was Marshawn running it in immediately so Tom Brady had time to get the ball back with time to get a last second field goal to push it to overtime. I remember yelling at the TV after first down and Marshawn got tackled because I thought we should have let him score. I had no idea that the worst call in Super Bowl history was about to happen. What a great day that was
Hearing Beastmode's words on how his childhood dream was stolen is pretty heartwrenching. If you told me this was Top 1 Betrayal of all time in sports, I wouldn't argue.

After that play I said the N FL was rigged.
@@lacydoI thought about that but then for it to be rigged majority of the owners/gms/coaches/refs/players/weather has to be in on it to like the giants superbowl vs the patriots where the winning play is a guy catching a call double covered with his helmet… when stuff like that happens it becomes less likely.

1 Superbowl is great .. 2 is legend status . The Seahawks stayed mid that day ...
I feel so bad for Marshawn. There was zero chance the Pats would have stopped him.
Exactly
@@flexydudeummmm……no. There was zero chance the pats were going to stop Marshawn from crossing that goal 😂. It would’ve taken a literal force field to prevent that walk in TD

2 Historical sports questions that need explanation:
" Why did Chris Webber call time out in the NCAA tournament "
" Why didn't Lynch get the ball"
Even the '85 Bears gave Refrigerator Perry the ball on the goal line.
As for the first, you can thank the defense. George Lynch in particular. The better question is why Webber wasn't called for the blatant walk Lynch forced him into about 5 seconds before the technical. Ref was literally staring at the play.
