    Nearly all subsonic ammunition will function with the standard full power recoil spring. There is one popular brand of subsonic ammo that requires the softer spring (as you discovered), great video, thanks for your support.

      Thankyou. Ive been meaning to do this video since the Rivalry series dropped..But I felt I really needed to have the current version of the kit to do it justice.

      @SRSshooter I do you think Desert Tech will ever do a detailed video on the Gun submitted for the NGSW/NSGAR?

      Yes I will do one before the end of this year. @@Odinforever2000

    Thank you for your observations. I recently purchased a new MDRX in 300 Blackout with all the 2023 updates. I am waiting on a suppressor approval, but have run Hornady Black 208 gr on setting 5 without issue. Most 110 gr suppers like setting 3, and some are fine on setting 2. Did you have issues with supersonic using the short spring? The issues I had were due to my gas block being dirty, which should NOT have been dirty as a NEW GUN. With only 100+ rounds the valve plug got carbon locked on a NEW GUN. I suspect someone had fun before it was sold to me, and didn't clean the gas block. New design proved not to leak (good thing). I do plan on getting another bolt carrier assembly when I start purchasing conversion kits. But I do love 300 Blackout, and supers are great flat shooters out to 200. I use a laser pointer for subs as a second zero. Love my MDRX!

      I know that DesertTech does test the guns before shipping them, to ensure function.
      I have not used the short spring. My buddy does. He reports no issues in any supersonic loads.

      @@Odinforever2000 Thanks for the reply. Good to know there are no issues with the short spring. I'm suspect of my MDRX not being new. When I try to register it on Desert Tech's website, I get a blank page. Yes, I have a registered account on Desert Tech's site. I sent them a message about this, so we shall see. Getting ready to hit the range and have some more MDRX fun. Using a Primary Arms SLx 25 MD Gen II ACSS with a Primary Arms 3X Pegasus magnifier. So far it is doing good with a 56/182 yard zero with +/- one inch to 200 yards using AAC 110 V-MAX. Need to find a range to test beyond that so I can test the BDC holds in the scope.

      The short spring is only necessary to run a small minority of subsonic ammo reliably. Majority of subs work with the long spring and all full power ammo works with the long spring. @@GuitarPHILBERT

    Do you know if they plan to build a 300blk with a short barreled micron WLVRN ?
    I know that they had trouble with short barrel 300blk in the MDRX because they would have to move the gas system backwards and it wasn't possible, but I wonder if they will make that work with the WLVRN.
    A WLVRN micron in 300blk would make a lot of sense AND would be awesome !

    Did you have any issues with the subsonic rounds going super because of the barrel length?

      I have a chrono I can run a lil test on some later.
      I specifically prefer sig 220GR, ELITE MATCH GRADE, SUBSONIC OTM because it's rated sub sonic In 16"barrels.

    What about a 556 side eject with the blackout barrel? Might stop the case deformation during ejection.

    • @Odinforever2000
      @Odinforever2000  Год назад

      SE bolts do not work with FE barrels. So..Right now only the only SE bolt/Barrel combos are for the 556.
      Its not a truly big deal. I reload but figured Id include that as a data point.

    Why didn't you like the 308?

    • @Odinforever2000
      @Odinforever2000  Год назад +4

      It was difficult to bring the accuracy under 2moa with the factory barrel.I did eventually with a couple 168loads (Magtech Sniper and Winchester Match).The 308 chasis is also the one that you need to check the chassis screws from time to time, as they work loose and will then really mess up its accuracy.
      All my accuracy concerns left when shooting the Es Tactical barrel (borrowed from a friend)..But thats nearly 1000$ add for just the barrel these days..
      The 308 Mdrx had higher felt recoil even with the exact same muzzle brake than My Rfb (nessesary due to how the scissor mechanisim worked).
      I also got the trigger job because I hated the trigger when shooting it side by side my Rfb.
