- Sajid Javid has said the chances of being admitted to hospital with Omicron is almost 90% lower after a booster jab, compared to those suffering with the Delta variant of Covid-19.
The health secretary said the new data is "good news", but also warned of the "highly infectious" strain.
"We know that Omicron is less severe and we know that once boosted, your chance of hospitalisation, our latest analysis shows, is almost 90 per cent less than what it was with Delta," Mr Javid said.

Someone close to me works in a hospital. As we speak, 11 members of staff on her ward are off sick with Covid. All 11 are fully Vaxxed.
The ones who are working right now are unvaxxed. Just thought I would share this.
Anecdotes, anecdotes....
I shared my house over christmas with 4 adults and a child with covid (omicron, from the symptoms). The two boosted people in the house, myself and my wife, remained perfectly well the whole time, and tested negative throughout.
Does your anecdote mean any more than mine? No. Mine means nothing either. Population wide statistics are the only thing that count.
Those medics off work are not necessarily sick. They would have to be off work if they tested positive, whether ill or not......and the job of the vaccine is to keep people alive, not to stop people catching the disease.

@@MikeAG333 there are countries in which vaccine pasports exist and are used. The UK government opted for the “lighter” version: covid pass. But I do remember Boris Johnson threatening people that after September 2021 negative covid test would not work.

I havent had the jab, I am obese and have asthma, I I covid a few weeks ago. I wasn't hospitalised I recovered after 10 days and I am back at work now.
My partner had the vaccine he caught the virus from me....he is fit and healthy he was fine and is now back at work

Gates is funding nothing at all in the UK governmental level. The booster works because there is enough of the original spike protein left in the variant to be recognised by our T cells after they've been primed by the booster.

Your post contains multiple lies The first is that Gates is funding the UK government through NGOs. There is no route for funds to flow from NGOs to the government. They flow the other way only.
Your second lie is that he is funding the BBC. He isn't. Its income comes from the License Fee.

As for the vaccine working, and the definition of working. Yes, it works by keeping people alive. It reduces the spread a small amount, but that's not its purpose. There are millions alive around the world who would otherwise be dead, because of the vaccines. I know loads of people like that a couple I know are on 3 antibiotic prescription because they can't get rid of chest infection and feel absolutely terrible and have done for months but guess what ran out for a booster.
