It wasn’t Tracy that committed the sin she died for….it was John Doe….he ENVIED the life Mills had made for himself and his beautiful marriage to Tracy. Envy was John Doe’s sin. Then Mills committed the 7th sin, wrath, when he killed John Doe, completing the puzzle. Really brilliant storytelling in this film!
Yes.
Sick as it maybe you are correct.
Tracey is the only "Innocent" person that Doe killed.
Really a well written movie.
@@rastomasstanford7708 maybe? You have another interpretation of the stuff that is said plain and simple?
@@TearDownGenesis literally one of the best twists ever
Right. Kevin Spacey died for envy. Mills "died" ... probably going away for life in prison... for wrath. Tracey was just an innocent bystander.
In the scene with Sloth, the director didn't tell the actors his character was still alive so that scene is a legitimate jump scare reaction from the actors on the set.
Thanks for the tidbit.
So they tell you. Great marketing. Getting tired of these "fun facts" based on speculation, rumor or statements from the people cashing in on people believing it. Critical thinking just out the window when you obsess. Bring me proof that this happened and I believe you, and apologize. Just don't link a bs article, a tweet, a interview or those things (they do it for exposure and it's marketing so don't believe a word, literally made for manipulation to make you watch what they sell). Please I beg you, no stranger will ever convince me about american productions after bs like pearl harbor etc. Sorry for the rant it's just tiring see all these people run around what famous people say, what rich people tell you, and what total strangers can convine you of. Like the oscars... we get no vote mate, why do they matter again?
And a jump scare in the theaters. I literally cried out in the theater when I watched it.
@@Gnossiene369 There is a USA Today article detailing this scene. It does say McGinly was genuinely shocked at the actor's movements. Its like the chest buster scene in Alien; all the actors knew SOMETHING was going to happen but they didnt know exactly what. It was probably similar here.
@@Gnossiene369 you might cut someone on that edge my guy. It's a well known story that has been verified by various people involved in the production including the actor who played Sloth. If you think the actor lied well... I don't know what to tell you.
This is from a yahoo entertainment article where they interview the actor:
“David Fincher said to the SWAT team, ‘Okay, you guys - when you come into this room, it’s a terrible smell. It’s dark and dank. And you see this corpse, and you see it’s really, really creepy. So I want you to portray all of that,’” says MacKay. What Fincher strategically neglected to mention was that the corpse was an actual actor - so when MacKay started coughing (“And that was such a great release because once I was able to do that, all my air came out!” he recalls), the other actors jumped back in very real shock.
That take is the one that made the final cut - and it’s so effective on screen that it even scared MacKay. “When I saw the movie with friends, I wasn’t really grossed out or anything like that, because I knew what I’d looked like. But what really freaked me out is when I actually came to life. Because it comes out of nowhere. I didn’t expect that!” he says.
The problem with people recognizing other people's sins is they never deal with their own first.
Those who cast the first stone....
Yes Jesus literally says this in the sermon on the mount... You're worried about the spec in your brothers eye.. all the while you have a giant plank in your own eye... Get the plank out of your eye so you can see clearly to get the spec out of your brothers eye.

John Doe did recognize his sin. It was envy, and he wanted to be killed because of it.
I think you missed the part where John Doe says that Tracy begged for her life and the life of her baby. She did not have an abortion. She was going to keep it, and was mostly going to tell David that day after work, or at least I would assume she was going to tell him that night.
Maybe think about joining the man's Patreon page so YOU don't miss any parts.
@@InjuredRobot. No!!NO!!! He missed that part. He was most likely talking (reacting) when John Doe said it!
@@InjuredRobot. P.S. I've seen the movie dozens of times!
The last sin he wanted to show was Envy. He envied his normal life. And he admitted it. You should pause the movie as you speak so you won't miss important details.
@@Judasia No, the last sin was wrath. Mills becomes vengeance and fury when he finds out his wife with child is dead and the killer presents himself in glorious victory to be the victim to Mill's wrath.
He didn’t killTracy because SHE sinned. He killed her because she was part of HIS OWN sin. He told Mills twice that he admired him. And at the end he said, “I envy your normal life.” He was the sin of Envy. And he used that to drive Mills to be the final sin. Wrath. Mills killing him completed the collection of the Se7en Deadly Sins.
Probably better said that she was _the object_ of his own sin, and then I believe the punishment for Wrath is prison for Mills. All the others got the death penalty.
@@MoMoMyPup10 Except she wasn’t. Mills was the object of his envy. It was his normal life, a pretty wife, a new baby coming, that John was envious of.
Also, not all the others were killed. The junkie representing Sloth was still alive, if barely.
@@MoMoMyPup10 - Prison for Mills? Yeah, I don't think so. There's not a prosecutor alive that would charge him, and not a judge on the planet that would send him anywhere except counseling and therapy.
@@Mr.Ekshin possibly, but I dunno -- why else would Doe bait Mills to kill him? Maybe he knows the laws in that city better than I do. And Mills was in the back of the cop car at the end, so obviously he was arrested.
@@MoMoMyPup10 - Arrested? Maybe.
Put on extended leave? Definitely.
Criminally Charged? Doubtful.
Convicted and jailed? NEVER.
What’s so good about Se7en is almost all of the violence happens off screen, makes it more intense
Nothing worse than ones imagination.
It's a bit like Silence of the Lambs in that respect. Also I've seen both movies many, many times and - just like Usual Suspects I know the 'twist' ending - but they're still entertaining!!
Seeing and hearing the results of the violence was plenty.
Yes, we only see the POV of the two detectives.
One of my favorite part of Christmas is asking what's in the box?
Se7en is one of my all time favorite crime thrillers, and my second all time favorite crime thriller is Silence of the Lambs. I think Leo would have a great reaction to "it puts the lotion on the skin" I would love to see that.

When this came out we were VERY quiet leaving the theatre. Like speechless. Love ya Leo. Keep Rockin.
Leo: "I'm sure not much more can happen in those 6 days."
Me: 👀👀
I watched this reaction when it was posted last night and loved it but I couldn't comment when it was switched to private. Just have to say that Tracy had not done anything. She was an innocent without a sin. John Doe was the one with the "sin.'" He was the 6th sin of Envy. He was envious of the "normal life" Detective Mills shared with Tracy. Mills was the seventh sin. He was Wrath. Great reaction to a great movie!
And Mills would prolly be ok in prison considering the circumstances.......even though hes a cop the inmates would prolly leave him alone cuz all he did was murder the guy that murdered his wife........and the guards would be even cooler with him, since he was a cop, and is only in prison for murdering the man that murdered his wife......theyd prolly sneak him in some McDonalds once in a while
@@weedthepeople2795 American prisons are fkin depressing mate. Fix your shit
@@weedthepeople2795 🤨

@@richardstephens5570 Yes, but then again, I think the jury's decision to not convict Mills would inspire even more followers of Doe. It's fucked up but he's right, something like that in real life would sew followers for sure.
The yellow books Mills read are called “cliffs notes”. They summarize novels so they’re easier to consume/comprehend for the reader.
When Somerset surprisingly asks, “you read them?” Referring to the actual Parson’s Tale and Dante, Mills replies “Yeah, parts”.
Just gives the audience a little comic relief during an otherwise grim discussion about a murder.

LEO PLEASE listen to April! This recommendation is a must-do bro. It's perfect for your personality!
Fun fact: The scene where the swat and the two detectives are scared by the guy in the bed was completely genuine. No one knew the guy in the bed was going to jump up and cough like that. The director kept it secret. So when everyone jumped scared, they were genuinely afraid/shocked lol.
I always find stories like this hard to believe. There's a script, and it says what happens in the scene, and the actors tend to read the script at least once before the cameras roll. Especially with David Fincher, if you don't know the script, he'll bite your head off
@@shitsumeilegumovitch The guy in the bed had one job. Lie there and act dead. Why would he need to go over the script with everyone else? He was just told to jump and cough real loudly when the other actor gets up in his face like that and says his line.
They did similar in The Haunting of Hill House. When the girls are driving to the house they were told the actress who plays the bent-neck lady was going to do X, but she was told to do Y in secret. So when she jumps out and screams, their shock and fear is genuine.
For sure one of the creepiest movies I ever watched. It was well done for S Tier Creepy.

In The Shawshank Redemption, when you see Red's parole form for the first time, that actually IS a mugshot of Morgan Freeman when he was a young man.
Fun fact: Director David Fincher had originally written the John Doe character to be played by R.E.M.'s singer Michael Stipe. Stipe couldn't do it due to his contract with Warner Bros. Records and the filming conflicted the the "Monster" world tour. Since Kevin Spacey took the role, they added more dialogue but his appearance is intended to be more or less Michael Stipe.

This is a great movie. I LOVE Morgan Freeman. I like him in "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider". (I read the books, too, but I love the movies just as much!) He made a GREAT Alex Cross. Best ever! Se7en - great movie, kinda creepy. I used to like Kevin Spacey until he went bad in real life, but that's another story. He did play a great psycho bad guy in this, though. I did like Brad Pitt at the time he did this movie, too.
Maaan I saw this when I was a young teen back in the 90s & I was very confused bc this was my older sisters' one of favorite movies. When I got older, I was just like u & I got spooked & shook to the core! It took me almost a week to get over that fear & thoughts of that movie. What got me the most was Lust & I was shocked how they actually putted it out there in the 90s! So anyway, great reaction & u should watch Fallen with Denzel Washington & John Goodman, another mind tricks & thrill movie of the 90s!

I saw this movie on video as a teenager - mid- to late-teens, a few years after it came out. It did a number on me for a short time (couple weeks, max). Fun Fact: There was a written ending during the box scene where instead of Somerset throwing the gun aside, he draws on Mills to get him to let John live and they basically stand off, but instead of Mills shooting and killing John, Somerset shoots John. Mills asks in shock "What are you doing?" And as Somerset drops his gun and walks away he answers "I'm retiring". Hey, Leo.
Since you asked, a few ideas:
1) During your initial 7 minutes, fill the time conducting channel business. Give viewers friendly reasons to subscribe and hit the bell and like the video. Also, you can ask the viewers a question, or ask that they comment a piece of curiosity you have of your audience (favorite food, place to hang out, a book suggestion, etc). Advise viewers how to find your other channel. You have gathered attention (one of the most valuable of resources). Use it to your channel’s advantage.
2) Reading suggestion: pick one fiction and one non-fiction. For fiction, you could choose to read a classic (Dracula by Shelly, an Earnest Hemingway novel, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes mysteries (for building detective thinking) etc) that you’ve been curious about. For non-fiction, think self-education. What have you been wanting to learn or understand better. How to write a novel, filmmaking or film editing, Beatles history, American history or civics, European history, spaceflight, how to succeed in business. Heck, you could get a textbook of your curious subject from the local Community College and start teaching yourself what you want to learn.
Pick one of each and alternate each night, or r pick up and read casually. Either way, it’s up to you to keep discipline and keep picking the book up. Commit to a chapter a day. Get it in your daily habits and you’ll be reading on automatic motivation before you know it.
Learn to build your curiosity. If a question forms in your mind, study to find the answer. You’re bright. Use your intelligence in your favor and keep discipline to find answers to questions. Do it yourself, and you can teach yourself a wealth of knowledge. :-)
3) I don’t think the content limitations end after seven minutes. Copyright and offensive content is still monitored by software throughout the video. Perhaps the RUclips Terms and Conditions is something to add to your reading list. Read it to understand it. It’s wise if you want to turn this into a living. :-)
I believe in you, Leo. Now it’s just a matter of putting in the work. :-)
