Has to be my favorite line of the whole movie. Brendan Fraser's delivery in a "don't be a silly goose" but also a "don't panic" tone of voice is perfection that tickles my funny bone every damn time! 😂😂😂
I LOVE hearing how Leo seems like he has such a personal level of involvement of what he watches! every time he says something like "I've BEEN trying to tell y'all!!" it makes me smile from ear to ear, because it really sounds like he's getting into the movie!! :D

In the first movie, Rachel Wise was adorable in a cute and girlish way.

This was Dwayne Johnson's big movie debut. From what I've heard, the producer of the film saw a match between him and the Big Show and decided whoever won was who he would cast as the Scorpion King.

Remember, in the first movie, O'Connell's friend that kept doing him and the rest wrong, was on the mummy's side helping him find them all, he stole a bunch of treasure but sank the pyramids, was trapped then eaten by those scarab beetles and O'Connell, Evy and her brother left on the camel's that were loaded down with all those treasures so they left wealthy and didn't know it yet. Been waiting on this review, glad you enjoyed it and God bless!!!

The reason O'connell had to kill the scorpion king instead of Imhotep was because whoever kills him is now ruler of Abubis' army. Oconnell had to be the one to kill him in order to send the army back to the underworld.
I remember watching both of these movies in the theater and just falling in love with Evelyn too. Her fight scenes 😍
When the son knocked over all them pillars one by one, it was showing him taking after his mother Evelyn who knocked down all of them library book cases one by one in the first film

I feel like you missed the parallelism between little O’Connell knocking down all the stone columns and his mother Evelyn knocking down all the book shelves in the library in the first movie. And also asking about what Egyptian word it was for the stork that Jonathan asked As well. I dont know why, but always tied the movies together for me lol

So basically the reason why their house is so big is because 3,000 year old gold is worth a lot more than present gold and back when this movie takes you could get a lot more so the reason why they have so much money is from the last movie and it's pretty sensible

It was awesome that they made a movie after this with the Rock called "The Scorpion King." I haven't watched it in years, but I loved it as a Kid.

If Imhotep's thrown spear had hit and killed the Scorpion King, then he would have been in command of the Army of Anubis and used it to take over the world. Which is bad. Rick catching it and stabbing him technically made HIM the commander, so he commanded them to go back to the Underworld, and so they did.
And yeah, the next Mummy film does have a completely different plot, having nothing to do with Imhotep or Egypt. Unfortunately, Rachel Weisz was not available at the time, so they recast Evie. Just so you know.
Also, if you do go watch the prequel the Scorpion King and get confused on how the events of THAT led to the start of this, according to side materials, the Scorpion King seen in this film is basically the great grandson of the one you'll see in the standalone movie. He just happens to look exactly like his great grandfather. Truly an interesting cowinky-dink.
Lol, you got Rachel Weisz mixed up with the character Rachel Dawes from the Nolan Batman trilogy. 🤣
Completely understandable, mind you, due to the common link of a recasting in the third movies. Not to mention physical similarities in the actresses.

Hey Leo, you should check out "Scorpion King" next. It's totally separate from the Mummy movies but it also explains the Rocks character more from this movie.
i like to treat it as separate canon. Mathias is so much more noble than this prick.

LOVE the new setup my man, I lit up to celebrate with you. Glad you enjoyed this movie, one of the few examples out there where the sequel was better than the original. If you ever want a good comedy to sit and watch, Scott Pilgrim vs The World has a full star studded cast and is something I can see you laughing over
Oof as much as I enjoy Mummy Returns I do not think it's as great as the 1st.
To each his own but the first film had just the right blend of Action horror adventure, Returns weighs too heavily on the adventure themes but yet manages to be a fun sequel so 🤷.

This movie is really underrated imo. It's not deep or "cinema" but it's fun and engaging with great performances.
In my opinion, it's not underrated. It was a blockbuster success.

The CGI on the Scorpion King's face is so laughable, the Corridor Crew remade the VFX to make the character more realistic, by placing the Rock's face onto the Scorpion King's Body.
when I was a kid and I saw it in theaters it looked amazing.
Ehh, it was still pretty bad but we forgave a lot more back then lol. It was bad enough that when the Rock returned to wrestling they even included jokes about it during his promos.

After this movie came out, there was a skit on Saturday Night Live or MadTV with Snoop Dogg playing Izzy. It kept cutting between actual scenes of the water attack and Snoop driving the air balloon. He was hittin on a blunt and telling everyone "its all good, we good, yall settle down". Then he was like "oh damn, my blunt got wet. Imma kill you foo!" So funny!

However I will say part 3 was crap. Rachel Weisz did not appear in the 3rd. Because she said unfortunately at the time she was busy filming other films, Despite rumors she didn't want to be the mother of a 21 year old. Actress Maria Bello played Evie in the 3rd one. There was zero chemistry between Maria and Brandon on screen in my opinion. I think they should have waited until Rachel could have reprised her role. The Mummy 3 was a box office flop". We bought tickets to another movie but checked out the room where this was playing and there were a few seats open right up front. Too close for the big screen but we got to see it so couldn't complain too much 😂

These movies are so entertaining, but I don't recommend the 3rd one. Rachel Weisz, Evelyn, is replaced by a different actress. She stars in the movie Constantine that you'd really enjoy. If you want to watch another badass chick I suggest Underworld. You'll love Selene. Great reaction! 🤗❤

I love Jonathon. He might be a bit of a coward and a conman, but he genuinely loves his sister and nephew and plucks up the courage when really needed the most. He is a good dude.
It's actually a great contrast to Beni from the first movie. Both have cowardly traits but one only looks out for himself above all others and the other has people he cares about more than himself.
