    Despite everything he had done, I always feel so sorry for Imhotep at the end. All because of the great acting of Arnold Vosloo. The last desperate cry for Anck Su Namun, the tears in his eyes and that sad smile, acknowledging his enemies' true love... What an emotional display!

    • @TheStarkiller96

      in the OG idea for the movie. O'Connel should have reached out and Imo declining and even pushing his hand away.
      But they shot it different. Still an epic scene.

    This was Dwayne Johnson's first movie role. He was still known as The Rock back then, as he was mainly a professional wrestler at the time.
    It was mainly because of his busy schedule that the CGI version of the Scorpion King was unimpressive.

    • @ronweber1402
      @ronweber1402 8 месяцев назад +3

      There was that but it was also due to the studio not understanding how complex it was to accomplish and arbitrarily cut the time they had in half so they did the best they could with what time they had.

    this is totally my fav Mummy movie, i love how they not just added their son to te crew as an "aw" character but a kid with a lot of charisma, he could've had his own movie by lone. (they screwed with the 3° sorry the spoiler), the team with him and the uncle is lovely, i love how he mixes how smart is his mother and how brave and cunning his father. Again, he works perfectly as a character by himself. LOVE SESS 💞

    My favourite qoute will always be when Eve say "No harm ever come from opening a chest" and Rick replies "Yeah right, and no harm ever came from reading a book. You remember how that one went? I'm just saying, for once I was the sensible one" 😂🤣

    The first movie established that Imhotep could ignore guns, swords, and such. All of the other mummies could be taken out with any weapon that could cut them up or blow them apart. Rick just had a lot of problems with the warrior mummies because all he had at the time was a sword and they are, well... warrior mummies.

    It's rare, but car keys can break. I had that happen to me once, although I don't remember if it was a car key or for something else.

  • @garyballard179
    @garyballard179 8 месяцев назад +3

    On breaking the car key off in the ignition:
    My workplace had to repair a lock mechanism on a storage shed because someone broke off a key inside it. Another key to open a maintenance hatch on a piece of equipment is warped and twisted, and has to be handled with care. A lock to the front door of the building has to be "massaged" into position so as not to stress the key when locking/unlocking it.
    I've broken keys to two bike locks at home.
    So yes, especially with the weaker metals used back in the 1920's-1930's, it would be incredibly easy for them to accidentally break the key in a fit of panic.

  • @ronfehr7899

    Because of the time period for the movie, some movie trickery was required for the locations where Alex was taken on the way to the Scorpion King's location.
    At that time, the scenery was different, so things were done to make the locations match the time period.

Yes, old car keys like that you could easily break like that, I have done that before. Lol, Jonathon, is really a child honestly. A dirigible was a airship like the Zeppelin, ya know the one that EXPLODED in Germany! I thought the ending with Edie saving Rick was poignant and showed true love conquers all. There is another Mummy (I would NOT advise watching that one), however, The spinoff "The Scorpion King" is pretty solid! Fantastic job as always and I will be ready for your next one!

    As crappy as the CGI on The Scorpion King was, I love the fight between Rick and Imhotep, as well as the one between Evy and Ankhsunamun. I also really felt bad for Imhotep when Ankhsunamun ditched him inside that pyramid...as least she met her karma by falling into that pit of scorpions.
    Autism-fueled observation/side note:
    That snake that Evelyn kicked towards Rick is actually a milksnake. You can tell by the band pattern (red, black, yellow). If the band sequence was red, yellow, black, they'd have something to worry about, because that's the band pattern of the venomous coral snake. Also, real scarabs were actually just dung beetles, which actually lay their eggs in balls of giraffe, elephant and rhinoceros dung.
    Two bonus fact/opinion tracks:
    I think Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be impressed with Evy because of that sai twirl.
    When Jonathan says "Hang on, Rick!!", My first response every time is "I don't think he was planning to let go"

    There was an actual Scorpion King but he wasn't the first there were actually two with the name the one the Rock was portraying was possibly the first one who's name was either Selk or Weha the second ones name was Narmer but some historians think the two are one and the same, but historians just call him King Scorpion. He was around during the protodynastic period when Egypt wasn't united like it was in later dynasties, he is referenced as one of the earliest Pharaohs that united all of Egypt.

    Another fantastic reaction!
    This movie was more fun nonsense and a perfect follow-up to the first.
    The whole outrunning the sunrise sequence was impossible, of course. The sunlight would touch the top of the pyramid first, not the bottom. Kiddo should have been dead, sorry!
    But like I said, the movie was full of nonsense. All that really mattered was the action and the laughs.

      @@PhysicalMediaPreventsWea-bx1zm Yes, though personally, I did not mind the experience of the 2017 The Mummy, it was a big-budget movie and I enjoyed it without judging it based on previous conceptions of the older movies. Unrelated but, whenever they come out with new stuff from the alien or predator universe, I always have to watch those too. I think too many reactors stop too early specifically with the alien predator universe, based on feedback from their viewers/patron.
