- Hello everyone and welcome to Cinema Rules! Another beloved movie franchise that we watched when we were kids was 'The Mummy' franchise, its not our first time reaction, but Shaun hasn't seen it in so long that he cannot remember the majority of the film.

My first thought is, How is it possible Anyone hasn’t seen the Mummy?? But then I remembered people keep being born like, everyday... weird but true
You should also watch THE MUMMY RETURNS it was even better then the first one 👍💞💞💞💞
If you enjoy films with historical content, and treasure hunts you must watch National Treasure.
It stars Nicholas Cage and is a whole lot of fun.
* *** it also has two sequals
"You came back from the desert with a new friend, didn't ya, Benny?" That line delivery. A certified classic.
Brendan Fraser's career crashed because he was assaulted by a producer in Hollywood and was blacklisted when he threatened to speak up about it, along with the fact that his wife divorced him and demanded a ridiculously large alimony which forced him to take a bunch of awful roles for quick money. Here's hoping that he can make a comeback, he deserves to more than most. Oh, and he's also a formidable stage actor.
Right on! He's been showing his [already existing] acting chops steadily the last few years. Check out "Trust" about the J Paul Getty III "kidnapping"/kidnapping.
@@sarahwhite4906 And don’t forget Doom Patrol as well. Very trippy show all round but he’s hands down one of the best stats on there. His class is still there to see.
Doom Patrol tv show . He is awesome in it.
He is in a new mainstream movie with Don Cheadle called No Sudden Move on HBO max. Heist movie. It was excellent!! Just watched it today.
Don't forget all those injuries on top of all that. He was being held together with hope and duct tape by the end of this trilogy.
From my understanding, Brendan Fraiser was more vocal about the shady sexual harassment goings on in Hollywood long before the Me Too movement picked up public awareness. As a result, he ended up blacklisted and his acting career stunted until recently with the DC Doom Patrol series.
He also has life long health issues from filming The Mummy and almost dying for the noose scene. He could have still been a big star leading man, he is 7 years younger than Tom Cruise, but he has been beat down from all sides.
Yup. And he also had something like that happened to him... I feel bad for this man
@Ben Franklin Jesus christ. I didn't know that
@@JohnRed I also read abiur the noose scene and didn't see anything about life long health issues. He got knocked out. That's it. Scared the shit out of him. The director blamed him, he blamed the director a little etc. And they worked together again.
@@el34glo59 More like years of doing his own stunts took a toll on his body. That’s what happened. And all the other stuff.
Brendan Frasier was the goat in this movie, blast from the past, Encino Man, and George of the jungle.
Blast From the Past! An underrated gem!
@@Amberelyse I agree.
True. Loved Encino Man and George of the Jungle
Read my mind brother✊
He may or may not have made me gay. Take that as you wish.
You asked how Imhotep knew how to control his powers and the other mummies.
In life, he was the Egyptian high priest. If anyone knew what the different curses and incantations did it should be him.
And at 19:15 he needed a human sacrifice this time because Anck-Su-Namun couldn't have gone back to the surface in mummy form, it's would have been much harder for them to go incognito (and also too shocking for her spirit to return to a mummy corpse as we see later in the scene when she looks at herself)
@@mayflyrose8195 Yes, the first time he tried she had a fresh body.
“LOOKS TO ME LIKE YOU’RE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE RIV-ER!”
Favorite part🤣
@Andy Le big I’m kind of surprised I didn’t see more people quoting that line!🤣
Scene gets me every time 😆
Still a favorite quote! :)
I always say it when I’m watching the movie a thousand times😂😂
@@dakendriascaife5405 🤣🤣🤣 it’s the best line!!!
I LOVE how Brednan's character, the big handsome, impressive looking man is CONSTANTLY deflecting leadership to Evie. She is in charge and he reminds people of that and goes to her for instructions.
She’s the intelligent expert who functions as their best potential leader and he’s a strong combat force who can take down enemies and explore hidden places - they make a perfect team and it never feels forced (and the sequel shows that they’ve taught each other certain skills)
What??? a strong female character in a 90s movie??? I thought sjws invented that a few years ago!
@@wileyjdraws7594 I don’t think anybody is looking for their sad, one dimensional excuses for “strong female characters” lol, I’ll gladly take great female characters that have existed for decades before this current era of soul-less cardboard cutouts meant to “make a statement.” (And it’s always them preaching at comic fans who worship almost any basic female hero character that exists already and horror fans where 80% of their protagonists are female characters lol)
Not necessarily in charge but he respects her opinion on the subject she is trained in... Just like how she refers him to the lead when violence is required...
@@wileyjdraws7594 🤣🤣🤣Right!
I will stand my ground in arguing this movie is one of the best adventure films of all time.
I'll second that !
I'll third that. This has been one of my all time favorite movies since I saw it opening night in the theater
Haley Leah Ann: Agreed!!
'The Mummy' has amazing repeat value that's why I end up watching it almost once a year. The same goes for Jurrasic Park franchises. You can watch them over and over again and not get bored. That's the thing about action- adventure movies. I love 'The Mummy' franchise even though a lot of people would say that the later movies were trash.
Couldn't agree more. Mummy Returns is great but Dragon Emperor is meh you just don't replace Rachel Weiss lol. But adventure movies are the fucking best it's so weird Hollywood doesn't make many straight up adventure movies these days.
The second movie is better than the first, imo. But the third film was garbage especially because Rachel Weisz was replaced by Maria Bello and the premise of the Chinese mummy wasn't written very well.
@@patr1ckk3ll3y same with conan the barbarian.
Its just that nowadays woke, fake feminist, etc have been destroying the culture and art 😤 its frustrating.
Same guy was the consultant on Egypt related issues than on Stargate , all the Egyptian writing is nearly correct , some are written wrong direction , but they actually say what the characters in the movie claim ... thats by Egypt specialist couple ... Place names are more or less invented and all religious text would be on a papyrus scroll , only book like objects they had was wax tablets , on that you could write something and then erase it .
Errors ... Scarab beetles are not flesh eating and real mummies have 4 containers for inner organs , not 5 ... its minor things , compared to sequels .
The Mummy & Mummy Returns are both movies that I’d always watch if I was channel surfing & it was on. I’ve probably seen both at least 20 times.
Honestly This and The Mummy Returns could be just one whole movie. I think I heard that the role for Rick almost went to Tom Cruise but they decided Brendan Fraser would be better because he wasn't as popular as Tom and Im so glad they went with Brendan instead because I can't imagine anyone else for that role
The first and second film definitely feel like part 1 and part 2 of the story, the third one to me is very much an isolated film (that probably shouldn't have been made tbh)
The third one was crap. It felt like crappy fan fiction.
TOM CRUISE DID STAR IN THE MOST RECENT ... THE MIMMY
20+ years later and Benny still reigns as my all time favorite backstabbing weasel, he's just so fun to hate and had great on-screen chemistry with Brendan. Kevin Connor really nailed that performance.
They give him immortality so he can suffer for infinity.
And never reach the afterlife... Big thing for the Egyptians, that.
@@AndrewHalliwell Interesting.
Didn't work out that way lol
They gave him immortality, but also power to kill many people. I guess the dumb priests thought that was "someone else's problem", like global warming.
Frasier was one of the few celebs that didn't seem like a total tool, pretty decent actor too.
This movie is one of my favorites. It`s everything that is good in a film. And no matter how old you are, you always enjoy it. The 1st and 2nd are the only ones that count!! The third is a total farce that any lover of this saga can not like or accept.
True story!
Ain't that the truth
Totally agree!!! That 3rd movie was horrible🙄
@@RoxyKandyKoRn55 Still better than the "remake".
I only like the first one, the second one is too overly comedic, the first one had a good balance of humor, and action, but the second goes way too far, like the stupid monkeys that are more funny than scary, not to mention the god awful CGI on the Scorpion King.
this is such a great classic, honestly one of the best adventure movies ever, so much fun, such a cool concept, great set pieces, brilliantly juggling between action, horror and comedy, great music, even visually still holds up, an iconic piece :) Brandon Fraser at the height of his powers, Rachel Weisz does a great job of portraying a damsel in distress while also being a low key badass, John Hannah as Jonathan is awesome, so hilarious, Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep is just perfect, Kevin J. O'Connor as Benny is brilliant, the rest of the supporting cast does a really solid job too, its so well rounded :) definitely a solid 8/10 :) fun fact Brandon Fraser actually almost died filming that hanging scene :P
I was born in 1998 and this movie was as much a part of my childhood as The Lion King. A classic.
Bruh, this is NOT a "cult classic" this was one of the highest grossing films of that year, HUGE money maker. It's just a classic, no cult.
Pepper out of fly shit. It was ill recieved at the time and is now realized by many more people as the great film it is. That is close enought to the definition brother.
It's one of few rides still standing at Universal Studios that isn't based on an active movie franchise cause everyone loves it lol
@@fuzzymeep Actually lots of people did. But that is not a defining factor for a cult hit. People do not need to hate a movie when it comes out to be a cult classic. It just needs to be forgotten about for a decade or two by most people. While maintaining a small adoring audience.
This is the movie I saw three times during the summer of ‘99, and became one of my family’s go-to films for Saturday nights.
The director and writers got this take on the Universal monster movies right: make it a comedic adventure film that plays on the 30s and 40s movie nostalgia that Indiana Jones brought back.
If anything, I think this movie is more comedy than adventure or horror. The scariest part was that pic of Brendan Fraser with pink eye.
Honestly, if you haven't heard the rough time Brendan Fraser went through -- lost everything, worked his way back to C-list Hollywood from bagging groceries in Canada -- you gotta read about his comeback. A lot of the proceeds from his earlier movies was[were] stolen from him in perpetuity. I wish I knew which he was still getting revenue from so I could support him.
One of my all time favorite, fun flicks. I recently watched it for the first time in years, and I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time. It's a movie that makes me feel "cozy", for lack of a better word. The characters are just so entertaining and likeable.
Although it had horror scenes, there was really no blood or swearing. Unlike Evil Dead, a lot of effort went into making an almost family friendly horror-comedy. There really is no wet gore at all. Even Raiders had face melting. The Mummy holds up on repeat viewing
Oh there was swearing but you’re right on the money with minima blood. Imagine the rating of the blood was added to the violence and mummy draining scenes. Yikes.
Strangely, Brendan Fraser nearly really died in the hanging scene...
So wetness is the problem?
"When Ramses destroyed Syria, that was an accident.''
😂😂
"You are a catastrophe!"
This is the film that made me fall in love with Brendan Fraser... well this and George of the Jungle :D Love The Mummy... grew up watching it and I've seen it a million times, I can probably quote most of it lol
Just watched this again for the millionth time a few weeks ago! So glad y'all did this one! Always so much fun!!
My interpretation of the curse... is immortality confined in a rotting body, feeling pain continuously and relentlessly through the centuries and trapped without being able to do anything, unable to pass to the afterlife. The power you gain is a side effect that is only activated if you are released by external factors (hence the constant vigilance of the medjay: they are your jailers who ensure that something like this does not happen).
Additionally my interpretation is the immortality is the punishment and the powers are a check against abusing the curse so that you dont just do it to anyone who annoys you but only in extreme circumstance.
That fuckin scene when rick just walks in all calm and slowly picks up the chair and just HAMMERS it at benie in literally a second ALWAYS gets me 😂
Brendan Fraser could quip like the old stars. He made all the lines sound so cool. Very under-rated actor and star.
He was very highly rated and very well recognized for his phenomenal performance when this movie came out so I don’t know what you’re talking about
This is an underrated movie imo. It’s a great pulp film and I love the way it completely avoids blood, keeping the violence a bit more cartoony. Not that I mind blood, but it’s a really good choice in terms of genre feel.
I enjoyed the comedy in this, such a fun movie.
5:49 *Creepy fact:* The actor was actually hanged in this scene and was left unconscious, confirmed by the actor and the director.
Look at the scene again, the close-ups to the actor with the red face and with his eyes rolling, that's when the actor almost died.
The same happened in back to the future 3.
5:51 Actually, Brendan Fraser almost died during this scene. He lost consciousness for a bit that he had to be revived but thankfully, he’s alive
Losing consciousness and dying are very different things. Dying involves you not breathing and having no pulse for an extended period of time, to the point that you're body starts to shut down. If you lose consciouness for long enough, then you could die, but typically its harmless unless you fall and hit you're head, and even then it could just hurt like hell. I don't recommend it
As a film music fan, I loved the score by the great Jerry Goldsmith 😃
Such a great movie and one of my favorites. Has a unique mix of horror and comedy. Honestly a classic at this point.
Glad you two took the time to watch this, cool reaction.
I am LITERALLY like that without my glasses. It's pitiful, frustrating, but hilarious to everyone else.
I LOVED this franchise as a kid. I have happy memories of watching and re-watching these movies with my family. Can't wait for you guys to react to the rest in this franchise.
I have to correct you. I had corrective surgery on my eyes but I was that bad without my glasses. I am unusual in how bad my vision was but if I dropped my glasses like that I would be just as screwed. That is not an exaggeration. It's accurate for some people.
Ya I just left a novel of a comment on this, I literally have to call for help if I misplace my glasses. I didn't know power lines existed until I got glasses in kindergarten for the first time.
Even without losing his glasses I imagine it would be hard to see anything clearly with how dark it was in there
@@wonderboy13579 I was the same Jordan. I had to call for help. I couldn't wear contacts after a time because it actually caused my retina to swell. I paid extra to have the lens on my glasses to be as thin as possible and they were still coke bottle lens. I actually had to get a newer type of corrective surgery done for my eyes that is not lasik as my vision was too bad for it and it was risky. So I got a kind where they actually insert a lens behind your eye. Best decision I ever made. It's wonderful not to be crippling blind. I feel your pain. Hopefully you too can get some kind of correction done some day.
@@BatmanFanGirl Thats really interesting actually. My eye doctor essentially ruled out all corrective surgeries for me for now, but I need to keep asking the question. Don't mind wear glasses except they are really heavy from the lens weight. Glad you got the correction though and it is working!
@@wonderboy13579 The kind I had is unfortunately pretty expensive. Around 10 grand. I am lucky that I have parents that are well off and knew that my vision was debilitating. They paid for it as as a graduation gift from college. It's a more recent type of corrective surgery called implantable lenses surgery. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to give you my contact information.
This is, undoubtedly, the best Mummy film to ever exist.
Great characters, awesome music, excellent chemistry, silliness, action, a romance that isn't ridiculously forced. It's got it all.
This movie still stands the test of time for me. I can watch this from start to finish feeling thrilled and adventurous. Much better than the films they make today tbh xx
I never miss this movie when televised, always keeps a smile on my face...
"how did he know how to use his powers...did he have an instruction manual".
HE WAS THE HIGH PRIEST!
He had spent his entire life learning about this stuff!
The original "Mummy" was made in 1931 with Boris Karloff...I've twisted a few friends arms and made them watch it with me and they always turn to me as it ends shocked at how great it was. one friend said "it was like a dream" It begins in the 1920's with the discovery of a tomb...the flashbacks to ancient Egypt and the plot line of eternal love and reincarnation are woven into an excellent film...I recommend it highly.
Haha "Just the pipes..." was that a reference to Hill House or am I nuts? Nobody else seemed to notice.
I love this movie so much. I honestly watch it SEVERAL times a year, sometimes in the same month. And sometimes I play it just to have it in while I go to sleep. I was born in 89 so I was ten when I first saw it and I've loved it faithfully ever since. I think most kids who grew up in the nineties have a special place in their hearts where Brendan Fraser just hangs out all the time.
This film is one of my all-time favorites, never understood the critical reception at the time but glad it’s having a long-overdue resurgence
Even though I never really praised this film, or considered it a favorite, I've come back to this film many times. First saw it in the theatre, then bought the VHS. I think I've watched it around 8-10 times now.
To me, it has the perfect pacing and mix of an action-adventure film. Like you said, it has comedy, some family-friendly style of light-heartedness, and romance that actually works.
If I were to criticize the writing & direction, I would say that all the death and suffering are noticeably trivialized, more so than in other films.
What stands out to me are the special effects (which were amazing, especially for 1999), the characters (writing & acting), the set designs, and how well the audience was immersed into the setting.
Rachel W. was an instant hit for me too.
It's because of this movie that I have a fear that when I wash my face or drop anything by my sink at night that when I look in the mirror someone will be standing behind me
im still simping for eve all these years later
Just watched Black Widow today, Weisz is still stunning...
@@Bjjbhcoa86 she just doesn’t age at all she’s one of the rare natural beauties
Shaun: "Flim... flam... Is that a thing?"
Guess you now have to watch the 1967 film "The Flim-Flam Man" (aka "One Born Every Minute") starring George C. Scott and Michael Sarrazin.
Yes! The Mummy (1999) is a favorite of mine! Can't tell you how many times I watched it growing up with my mom. It never gets old for me. My mom and me still quote lines to this day! :)
If you think about it, Imphotep is a real hero in the movie:
-Got separated from the love of his life, she kills herself, he tries to bring her back and gets viciously murdered.
-Suffers from the curse, and after all those 3000 years still loves her.
-When comes back to life just tries to return his love.
-Kills basically the grave robbers who stole his organs.
Could be an actual dark comics hero
I don't know why this comment made me think about a Imhotep/Spawn team-up
Arnold Vosloo plays such an amazing villain. I LOVE him as Imhotep in the first two Mummy movies. 3rd one is only okay. I love Jet Li, but he couldn't save that movie from sucking.
Fun Fact: Brendan Fraiser nearly died for real during the hanging scene. Had they slowed down the dialogue he would of died on set.
Yesss. I'm glad you're watching this. I love this movie (and the second one, the third shall not be spoken of) and I'm happy you guys are reacting to it. I'm gonna enjoy this!

The RAF pilot Winston was played by the same actor who played Col. Crittendon in Hogan's Heroes, and was among the last living members of the cast. When he shouts "Here I come, laddies!" before dying, it kinda feels like he's on his way to rejoining the cast who past away.
The shot with the blonde cowboy being sucked dry, and all you see is his shadow, is seriously probably the coolest scene in the movie.
This is one of my top movies of all time. I’ve loved it since I was a kid and it’s such a comfort movie for me now. I could go scene for scene with this movie
As an egyptian, what i loved about this movie is that they used proper arabic and arabic actors in the cast which made me soooo happy when i was youngerto see half accurate representation
(Scary wind noise)
"If that happened in my house I'd turn that gun on myself" lmao
Absolutely love the mummy.. would watch it any day of the week and never get bored watching it.
I don't normally watch "we've seen this before BUT.." reactions bc they're usually just "oh yeah I remember this!" "oh yeah and then this happens!" "*loads of silence"
but I'm SO glad I stuck with this! whether you actually didn't remember fck all or you're just really good actors - I don't actually give a shit and please don't tell me, but you've got a fab sense of humour and your comments and reactions were spot on
Looking forward to more x
They didn't need a human sacrifice when he was trying to resurrect her the first time because her body wasn't decomposed yet. With Evelyn, she would be resurrected and take Evie's body to live through.
this was one of my favorite movies as a kid ❣️ but mostly The Mummy Returns, i love them both tho!
My Favorite movie growing up. I fell in love with Ancient Egypt.
Dude this Mummy movie was incredible for the time. I mean just look at how they fucked it up with that aging Scientologist. The late 90s were the last remanence of GOOD action-adventure comedy.
You're really trying to hate on Tom Cruise who is not only the last true movie star, and does everyone of his own stunts and pushes it to please fans, but is single-handedly helping save the movie industry? With literally a throw back a real action blockbuster?
Take walk. Oh and btw it wasn't supposed to be this mummy movie. Wasn't a remake 😂
That aging scientologist would make Frazier look 150
Don't hate me, I like this one but I like the second one even more. Only because Rachel Weisz is so cool in it.
I'm a grown ass man and I still break down in tears when Winston dies. Man finally got reunited with his brothers in the Air Corp, and went down fighting
The Mask of Zorro (with Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta Jones), The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and National Treasure are my go-tos for some good old fun action/adventure movies.
I LOVED this movie as a kid. Me and my brother watched it so much we memorized the ancient Egyptian spoken throughout the film. We really thought we were doing something when we spoke it to each other
The mummy scene where he reforms was quite groundbreaking in terms of cgi back then. I remember watching the making of part, that back then, was at the end part of the vhs tape. Super interesting.
This was the last movie I saw in the theater. Crazy to think it's been >20yrs. Don't feel like I've missed much, besides some epic battles between my will to see the picture and my need to empty my bladder.
Haven't seen this for years; this reaction has made me want to revisit the Mummy and its first sequel. I can remember being unimpressed with the third one, so I will probably give that a miss.
I never really followed Brendan Fraser's career much despite being a huge fan of The Mummy & The Mummy Returns, so I had no idea about the rough times he had until a couple years ago. I briefly met him at London Film & Comic Con in 2019, where he signed my Mummy DVD box set. He's a cool guy. He told some great stories about the filming of The Mummy at his panel and of some of his other works. I only read up about what happened to him after I got home, it's so sad.
Glad he's bouncing back now with Doom Patrol, though I've not seen that show yet. But he had also filmed another TV show in 2019 called Professionals with Tom Welling (of Smallville). It's only out in Germany (now on Blu Ray & DVD) and nordic streaming service Viaplay in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Hasn't been released elsewhere in the world yet, but it's a fun show, I recommend you check it out if you can if you're a Fraser fan. Show needs more recognition so it can get picked up elsewhere. :)
90’s movie magic at its finest
Rick throwing that chair at Beni though 😂😂😂 so aggressive that one
This has been my favourite movie since I was 11-years-old (now 33). I watched it on VHS (rewind, play, rewind, play) so much during the summer that I wore the VHS out. I still have the hologram box art from the original VHS release. It was also the first movie I ever bought on DVD (which I still have) and I now own it on two different streaming platforms. I also visited Egypt for my 15th birthday (birthday at the end of the year) but we went during their summer so it was VERY hot!
Brendan Fraser almost died during the hanging scene. Omid Djalili (the Cairo prison warden) is a hilarious stand up comedian. You also wouldn't want to swim in the Nile, not only are there crocodiles, but there are also hippos. The brain ripping is a myth, they didn't do it in most cases but if they did they pushed a specific plant up the nose which actually turned the brain into soup and it just dribbled out of their nose.
I completely agree with both your ratings. I thought myself that if I remove the nostalgia aspect I thought it was a 7.5, and an 8.0 with the nostalgia (before either of you gave your ratings). I think seeing it as a teenager with many repeat viewings as I got older really made me appreciate the humour part, John Hannah's part in this is probably my favourite with his funny, loveable, cheeky rascal persona (but I may be biased as a Scot favouring a Scottish actor lol). Always loved this film and quoted it many times over growing up.
Absolutely one of my favourite films! Your reactions always make me laugh 😂
Saw this in the cinema, the same year when I finished my A Levels. Great memories!
Haha, I was randomly watching this the other day. Finished it this morning for this.
Movie night with Tom and Shaun is definitely the best in entertainment. Thanks for it.
I remember when this came out me and some friends rented it on vhs and watchd it at a big sleepover, but we got so freaked out we had to watch toy story 2 instead, which was also new at the time hahaha
Brendan Fraser was/is Hilarious in Bedazzled and Blast from the Past and the Mummy franchise, classic Deadpan funny Delivery of lines! 🤣
I have owned The Mummy and The Mummy Returns on VHS, DVD, and now digital. It's just one of those movies that always delivers.
“It’s for the best, I’m sure.”
When you realize the minor plot twist nearing the end, the line takes a while new meaning considering who he is.
I didn't realize how much "Evil Dead" is in that movie. Also, I can't view this through the lens of nostalgia because I think I remember this and "Independence Day" the best from childhood. This is still a completely solid update which should have failed from being too much like Indiana Jones and not being very scary. But somehow that's helped it endure over the years so that when the Tom Cruise Mummy came out, people seemed to immediately go back to this version.
I just watched corridor crew speak with the art director of this film and seeing all the behind the scenes stuff was neat :D
Ngl seeing Imhotep in that state of decay is so damn terrifying coz it just looks eerily real
I wonder why the younger generation always thinks the CGI in the 1990 is bad. It was not the stone age.
Jurassic Park 1993, Terminator 2 1991, The Mumie 1999, Young Sherlock Holmes 1985, Tron 1982, Matrix 1999, Titanic 1997, has much better believable CGI then many movies do now.
CGI was a thing before the 2000, just look at the movie "Westworld" from 1973 and "Futurworld" 1976.
Fun fact. The library domino scene was filmed with the first try. Probably absolutely thrilling for the whole crew, not needing to waste time and effort to set up all the shelves and books again.
First time I’m discovering this channel and I love it! This may just be me and I apologize ahead of time since I’m not familiar with your names yet but the gentleman in the black shirt kind of reminds me of Sam Worthington a bit… Hes kind of cute!
This reaction was so funny and was really well done! Loved it and will be subscribing
I love this movie. Probably the movie I’ve seen most in my life. Most of the effects look really good for the time. I’ll never understand why the second had such worse CGI (with a probably bigger budget).
PS Can confirm my husband has not been able to find his glasses when they were a couple inches from his face a few times, so that but was believable to me lol
I heard that the special effects people were forced to fit a deadline and they did their best with a lot less time than they actually needed to make the stuff look good lol
@@CarloisBuriedAlive That would explain a lot.
This movie came out a year after I was born and it's one of my favourite movies ever! Inaccuracies aside it's still a pretty awesome flick!
"And then they date for two weeks before realizing that they have NOTHING in common."
LMAO!
As a big fan of "happily-ever after" endings, that joke really got me!
The way the curse on the mummy worked was that his soul would never be at rest and would never be able to enter the afterlife. That was why his face appeared in the sand after the battle. The downside was that if he was ever resurrected, then he would be an almost unstoppable being.

Holy shit I forgot the part where Fraser hurls the chair. That shit cracks me up every time, man.
Great re-reaction! One of the best parts...your Brendan Fraser avatars during that short time your video cut out. I laughed so hard 🤣
Ah man I remember being so happy to get my hands on the Special holographic cover VHS the day before release . 😎
Great film think I'll give it a rewatch as I've not seen it for years
The reason that Imhotep is afraid of cats, is because they are guardians of the underworld. At least that's a common misconception, they are a symbol of the Egyptian goddess bastet. She was Goddess of protection against contagious diseases and evil spirits which is not really the Underworld.
