Yeah, a large retailer here in Central Florida had them for a while @ $599.00- Frankly it seemed too good to be true. I ended up with that new Ruger 5" 45 lightweight for $650.00 instead. I liked the feel of the Kimber. Thanks for the review. I'm almost sorry I passed.

Im going to be getting night sights for mine really disappointed in the fiber optic front sight its not as bright as my 2 Springfield Ronins are and this one loves to get dirty and stay that way and mine was having a lot of failure to feed after the 100rd mark i got 150 through it and the chamber and feed ramp are not polished very well so i will see if i can get a local gunsmith to finish with kimber forgot this is actually my 2nd shadow ghost the first one was do the exact same thing but the chamber and feed ramp were done right it was a mag issue with that one im definitely gonna keep this one and work through the bugs i have 3 Springfield 1911 and 1 ruger 1911 haven't had any problems with those your gun was flawless dont miss a beat

Yea it's alright though i guess im just so use to Springfield and Ruger and the older Colts that having a problem is rare but im gonna be keeping it because its a cool looking pistol and get running the way it should be and its a lightweight government which is cool ill let u know the changes i did when i get around to it
@@tmcdaniels2000 so i got my night sights for my kimber i bought some bill Wilson etm mags and kept one of the 47D mags and bought a ed brown 8 pack my kimber ran flawless i guess i need to get new and better Wilson combat mags and new mags in general and that ed brown mag is awesome its a little bit stiff to load but not the the double stack ones
Did you have any issues at first with the first round or so jamming at the barrel when racking the slide? Both with manually pulling and releasing or using slide stop? Kimber factory and WC mags.
Kimber uses ramped barrels on their 9mm's. The only 45 they use a ramped barrel on is the Ultra 45. All other 45's use the traditional frame ramp. The LW series is an alloy frame. If your going to shoot more than a few hundred rounds a week you don't want the LW series, get a steel frame.
I have a kimber 1911 just like that. Great shooting pistol. Question, have you had issues with it jamming on the feed after firing a round? This is my first pistol like this.

@@myadsfclub1 Pretty much any Wilson Combat 1911 mag is excellent as well as Chip McCormick 1911 mags. You can get those on line at GunMagWarehouse.com or Cheaperthandirt.com. Usually the McCormicks are less expensive.
Why do people keep saying. If u shoot more then a couple hundred rounds a week then DONT get the lw series. I call bullcrap. It's a gun. It should be able to handle whatever u throw at it. If I want to mag dump it and run it like a tool that it is. It should handle it correct? People say it's aluminum it's weak. Are we just gonna forget that glocks and other polymer frames never have a problem running whatever rounds u want as long as u want, and those are literally PLASTIC. pretty sure aluminum is stronger then polymer
I’ve had zero jamming problems with all four of my Kimbers and I’ve had two of them for over two years many hundreds of rounds through them. so my experiences a bit different than what you’re saying. Of course I run Wilson combat magazines through mine
I picked one up a few months ago. Already got over a 1000 rounds through it with kimber mags not one jam yet

Im sorry you have had such troubles with it, mine has so far been flawless and I think I've put at least 500 rounds through it.

So my gunsmith said i have to polish the chamber and polish the face of the extractor so hopefully that will get it running 100%

never did have problems with feeding which ever mag i used.

No problems with jamming in mine. Does yours jam with various different magazines? Sometimes feeding issues in 1911's are a result of the magazine.

My Kimber mag would not feed any ammo. 500 rounds, Kimber mag still sucks. Wilson combat, 0 fails
You have a bit of an odd grip on that gun
Its called the "Wedge Hold or grip" taught by Massad Ayoob. Look it up on RUclips and you will see his instructional videos on the wedge hold.
