I have bought four Kimber 1911's without any issues over the past few years. One Raptor, one Stainless and two TLE II's. My daily carry is a Kimber TLE II in .45 acp. I bought two identical TLE II's to be used as primary carry guns. The only changes I have made to them is to replace the full-length guide rod with a Wilson GI guide rod, the mainspring housing although steel on my TLE's, I replaced with Ed Brown arched as I prefer an arched MSH. And all the springs with Wolf Springs including the 16 lbs recoil with a Wolf 16 lbs. I have over 2000 rounds through each of my TLE's and have never had any issues with either one. I know people like to bash Kimber 1911's, but I have never had any issues with mine and trust my life to my two TLE II's.

I love Kimbers, they usually rerequire 200 or so round fired thru them before considered reliable, but all weapons require some sort of of break in, even Glocks

Nice review. I'm interested to see how the feed ramp holds up to hollow points. On their officers size pistols they use a ramped barrel with aluminum frames.

This was the primary driver in my desicion not to move ahead with buying the reviewed Kimber here but to pick up one of the Ruger 6792's with the titanium ramp inserts. I fiddled with this Kimber at a retailer and really liked it but I've already got a Colt LWC with the aluminum feed ramp. I too will now only buy ramped barrels or a steel or titanium ramp insert in alloy framed 1911's.

I have been tempted to get the Kimber Lightweight 1911 in 9mm, which makes more sense to me for a lightweight gun. You need more 1911s in 9mm. My most recent Kimber 1911 (2022) had scratches on the finish from the factory, which pissed me off.

I’ve always been turned on by the looks of the Kimber, but I’ve heard so many bad things about them, I’m unwilling to take the gamble on a firearm that costs as much as it does. Maybe I’m just missing out 😂

I'm 22 and bought the custom LW range pack for 720 out the door it was a base model custom LW with 3 mags, a reversible holster and a mag holder Aswell as a 3 gun bag and a 5 mag pouch bag. I love my custom LW and the only problems I had was using the slide release to chamber. But after 250 rounds that problem is gone. From what I understand Kimber came under new management in 2020 or 2019 and they've really been doing a lot to have better quality control

With modern CNC there’s no excuse for loosely fit slide to frames. Plastic main spring housings, alloy feed ramp and MIM components. There’s a lot to hate about this piece especially considering what Tisas is putting out for way less money. As usual, digging your videos. I’m super jelly of your range set up! 👌🏻

Back in the 80's I had a Colt L.W Commander that I had hard chromed by Metalloy and like a fool I traded it for something else. Years later at a gun show I picked up a Kimber pro carry two and it felt so much like my old commander I bought it and it was even a better shooter than my old Cold was. Of course I sold that one and bought different guns through the years and now I have the New 2018 Colt L.W Commander and it is a great gun but I am longing for another Kimber pro carry 2 in stainless steel and with night sights that I had before because after all the Berettas, Sigs, etc, I still love these the best. Easy to carry, easy to shoot, accurate , and they look damn good and if 7 or 8 rounds doesn't get me through a fight I always carry an extra mag.

I have around 6000 rounds through mine. Nosler has been the only ammunition to ever give me a malfunction. I carry it with Liberty Defense and it runs flawlessly with 7 and 10rd WC mags. Changed factory spring 3x just for peace of mind. Got mine for right at $600 on Gunprime.

Thanks for the review, I agree that Kimber has turned a corner for the better the past few years. I’ve had 3 Kimbers and 3 Springfield armory 1911’s in the last 2 years and the Kimbers have been better overall, just shoot a few hundred rounds and they are good to go and have a better fit and finish IMO compared to the Springers. It’s not that I had any trouble with the springers but all the Kimbers were a touch less expensive and just feel and look better to me.

I got into shooting late in life, last year at 68.I became agitated at the anti 2A crowd. So after looking at a ton of guns, my first purchase was a Kimber Mako 9mm and it's been great. They make beautiful pieces and they're reputation especially for 911s is legendary,or at least it was. Now there's many complaints after it's change of management. I wanted a 1911 in 45 cal and being a retired sewer worker cost is a consideration of course. So I was able to find the Tisas Tanker for $374 otd. It exceeded all expectations. At some point I'd like another 1911 , perhaps a step above mine. This Kimber caught my eye,but I'm weary over the many complaints I've seen. Why wouldn't I just stick with an upper tier Tisas, based on mine, and the multitude of positive reviews? So many choices so little time.

I bought the exact gun and had problems day 1 with it jamming. I was having 1 or 2 rounds jamming on every magazine so I called Kimber and they told me the problem was I had to shoot 500 rounds to break it in. Well 500 rounds later it still had an issue then Kimber said to send it back to them and they will fix it. And with my luck when Kimber sent it back to me somehow UPS lost the package, so 3 months later Kimber sent me a new Shadow Ghost.
Can You guess how it shot? Yes it was jamming, Well fast forward a year and now it's shooting great, I think after running 200 rounds through it all the issues were gone
