I remember when it first hit me that the parents were lying about santa.
For a few years though, it really messed up my science education, being that physics kept telling me its impossible for a flying sled to land on a roof pulled by reindeer that only appeared in cartoons, and then to fit air hockey table kits down a obviously too small of chimney. Yes, the entire religiou$ theme is fake new$.
Yes, the religious part of Christmas is fake news, but Santa is *not* fake, otherwise NORAD and Google wouldn't have tracked him.

The official Sinterklaas in the Netherlands is indeed on December 6.
But somehow most Dutch celebrate it on December 5. Most Belgians do celebrate it on December 6.
People often say that one of these dates is his birthday. However his birthday is actually not known.
What we do know is the day he died. Which was on December 6.
But ofcourse telling this to children is just plain confusing. ;)
Very cool fact about Sinterklaas presents are the wrappings. We don't just put paper around the gifts. But we makes "surprises". Which are creative ways of wrapping the present by making some kind of sculpture around it. Often by using paper in creative ways. Like a pinata, but the kind that you don't hit with a stick.
Short self made poems are also often included. Making a prank surprise is also optional, either by making the receiver search or just by encasing the present in sticky or gross looking stuff.
