@@Tri-tipTim you are absolutely correct. We no longer have real drum and bugle Corps in the United States. In my opinion DCI is the reason for the demise of a activity oh, they have turned it into a marching band competition today superimposed on a three ring circus. They still refer to it as Drum Corps International, they need to change that and call it marching band International. Start calling it what it really is. Up until the 19th century when we had no technology and skills to record music, the ordinary American people could not afford to enjoy going to the theaters to listen to the real-time musical performances or other shows. However, when the Marine Band marched through the streets, it used to be a very rare chance for the people to hear the real-time musical performances. Americans have loved the Marine Band more than any other military bands. Its performances are said to be artistically excellent, too.
That's not true... Back when people weren't able to go their whole entire lives without human interaction, they would have to go out and socialize. You could sing in your local choir, the churches had exquisite music and all of the music you were hearing took effort to create.
This corps is not a band but great group of people who are proud and professional. Musicians in the best drum and bugle corps comprised of some of the best performers mostly from top dci drum corps. I think we are very proud of you always and thank you very much for your dedication and service to our country. The united States marine drum and bugle corps.
They should be. It is one of the hardest professional musical organizations to get into in the world. While there is no specific educational requirement, most have degrees and many have advanced degrees. The audition is difficult, and applicants have to be able to pass a security background check for a Secret Clearance. They do not attend any kind of Marine Corp basic training and they enter into the service as a Staff Sergeant (E-6, though you will notice that they do not wear rank chevrons on their dress uniforms unless they are in a leadership position) with all pay and benefits, and may not be transferred to any other Marine unit. While they are indeed part of the Marine Corp and subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, they are in effect a professional musical performance entity.
Abimael Mariz- Recife-PE Brasil.
It's called the Color Guard of the Marine Corps. The Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps carries the national flag and the other is the battle color of the Marine Corps. Major units have their own battle color with streamers and bands for the campaigns that unit has been a part of.
Awesome !!! Wish I was there to see it. Looks like one Marine is out of uniform. The guy behind the camera should have zoomed in on the marines playing their instruments.
Only leadership shows rank. I do believe most if not all are E-6 Staff Sergeant. Very open to correction. I'm a Marine but it's been 50 years since my discharge, things change and I was not a musician.
The musicality is excellent. Nice blending that sooths to your heart. Compared to some hbcu marching band. When reaching the hign notes some trumpet section are too sharp. Painful to the ears, that jeopardize the overall blending of the music piece.
Here's the field version of Stars and Stripes forever from the 2022 DCI World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium. Play it loud! ruclips.net/video/4sD50K_TSVw/видео.html

John Philip Sousa is smiling down from heaven. He made this band great and wrote may marches for it.
He wrote marches for the Marine Band, not the Drum and Bugle Corps (it did not exist then).
Makes me feel proud having been a member of the team.
JP would be charmed by this arrangement of his Stars and Stripes. I know I was!
YES I DO LIKE THE MARINES MY LATE HUSBAND WAS IN THE SERVICE FROM 1970_1973
What a beautiful sight to see. They are magnificent
Love to listen to them served 68 to 74 3rd marines
Great arrangement of Stars and Stripes. Especially the xylophones!
I hate to be pedantic, but they are marimbas and a vibraphone, not xylophones. 😁
Thank you very much 🥰
Beautiful!!!
Thanks for compliment
What a stunning backdrop. Our great city is a beautiful setting.

I love this Country! My dad took three bullet wounds defending the world from Fascism in WWII.
Simples um show!!!!!!!!
Sounds great
No one plays US anthem better than Marine Band
Nice music.

Q: why is there no rank insignia on the red blouses of Marine Corps band "the Presidents Own"?

Should have shown a 'high angle' of the crowd during the National Anthem so we could get rough head count of all the Commies who live there.
How about competing with senior corps on the field ?
Not their gig...and they'd need a color guard.
on the other hand, with the influx of DCI vets in recent years they HAVE stepped their game up a lot.
Wow....
"The Commandant's Own."

March natural,, that's the mode.
Why did he not give the same respect to the United States Flag that the other soldier did to the Marine Corp Flag!
The marine corps flag is lowered during the national anthem to show respect for the national colors.
I thought it was a sketch from Monty Python's flying Circus with their silly walks
