Right since I was a child, loved watching these machines, specially the loaders and clearing woodlands, like prehistoric monsters praying on the land...
Smoke, heat, and the smell of mud and diesel, lovely....
Just wanted to say thanks for using clean language in your video's. I'm a single dad with 2 little girls I'm raising on my own, (family's a big help) and I try to watch some things I like and still set a good example.
Yes sir!! Lots of foul mouthed youtubers out there....really doesn't do ya any good to have a dirty mouth...just makes ya look ignorant
Your right the prespective we get from drone is very cool, you do a great job and we love you
Hi..... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
Yes, I love to watch people work. I used to work for a living.
Josh your right about the Huge project! Thank you again! I want you and wife a Wonderful week!!!
Josh, you are 100% correct on the wash with a slope. I learned this the hard way with folks that should have known better. It took 30 loads of dirt to fix the ruts. After the storm it sounded like niagara falls. Trouble was it was a fire break not a river. All your advice, equipment and fire is 100% spot on.
Tks for serving
i admire you,i done the same thing but only on 41 acres,it was completely grown up.it took a few yrs,but i got it,i put 14 cows on it and i loved it.i'm retired now and my son has it,but i still love looking and remembering the wonderful time i had getting there...hang in there, you will make it
Looking Good.. You can be proud of your Farm. THANKS
Some beautiful land!!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to share it with us.
Your doing a good job Josh cleaning up your property ,Diesel fuel helps and let it set in the wood or old oil
Good video. Also good advice to let it to the professionals till they are done.
always here listen to your videos and wearing my farm shirt
Nice!!
I am in on the stay!!! Love the land looks quite an pretty !!!
Love stuff like this... good big equipment!,
Just keep doing and keep learning Josh...
That's quite the undertaking on your property, nice work!
Nice. Thanks.
I can’t stop watching your videos
Keep up the good work!!! I hope ya got yourself a tshirt! lol
Josh thats what I do for living well not just clearing but pipeline fun job
Things are looking good on the farm and glad that the fire are out and safe. thank you for sharing your story and be safe out there and God bless you guys. Catt.🐈 Texas,
Thanks Catt
I love the T-SHIRT
Really like the perspective of the drone footage as well. Going to be some really pretty property when you get it all done.
Same thing happened to me I still fear fire it's normal keep em coming Josh you rule
Just glad to see the drones up. I love your aerial shots.
Yep...got it all back together and flying good again...although it almost made it into the pond this flight!
Looking good you have a nice place !!
Love watching you!☺️
Thanks buddy
I can’t wait for
The day Stoney ridge can have people stay, my wife and daughter would love it!
Soon.....I hope!
Really nice Josh....how I wish I could live like you...
Maybe my favorite video you've done!!! Awesome footage and love the loader! I have a 963 I am clearing my farm with
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Great video! ... keep up the hard work!
Looks great
Never hurts to keep in touch with the operators. Keeps everyone on the same page. Most people use an excavator to stoke up burn piles. I noticed that is a rear mounted engine on that Cat. I have seen folks catch a front engine machine on fire by driving it up on burn piles. From the drone footage they are really doing a good job. I also see you put the tires back on the Gator. Thank you!!!!!!!
lol....yep the wheel fell off the gator twice....once with a load of rock....that was the last straw for sure!!
Excellent Video
Thats gonna be pretty Josh. Hope you saved some good trees and firewood.
Doing good - up to 62k subs Whoooo!!
..love the shirt too 🇺🇸
Thanks
When your done the farm is going to look with an English Country Estate. What a beautiful place your building. Also I love your shirt.
I really liked this video. Nice. Ty for sharing.
You have the right concepts - slow down water, immediately plant a cover crop. I dont burn timber though, or unless its firewood, and chip the debris, and use to make fungal compost.
Love the T shirt . Have to make one for myself with a Canadian flag.
Great shirt, land coming along nicely, good work
Thanks buddy
Grainger's carries high flow, gas powered transfer pumps. Not inexpensive but a good investment for your farm. That coupled with suction line, a good strainer valve & then flat rolling discrage line would be great for firefighting. The pump can also be used for other needs too. ✌️
Great drone footage. It’s going to look great when the grass comes in.
I think so too...thanks for the complement
That is a very big deal double work is expensive thanks for the tip brother I really like the process from clearing to building high end pastures in mind every step is important to not forget a step this is why am on this channel to learn. We will be on this journey soon super excited to learn. I really appreciate your time and effort josh what great content you might do an instruct ables you will have all the footage you need and you have to knowledge. Just an idea
Right on
$100/hr for a 963 sounds like a smoking deal pun intended lol, we may have different flags, but love the shirt all the same. it is better to ask questions and get what you want up front then say nothing and be disappointed or complain later, a good operator should be humble and open minded. thanks for the vid josh
Got my $100 truck shirt! Wooooo! I the one you have on today. I also like stupid should hurt as well. Be safe. Great video
Spoiler alert!! STUPID SHOULD HURT SHIRTS COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stoney Ridge Farmer WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
What hes doing is standard for grading but us contractors will do what customers ask specially when your paying hourly..i know this is old but when grading you have to drag the dirt up hill when filling holes if you dont then you end up with uneven ground im sure the guh on that dozer was planing to do the work you asked him to do as you stated in the video lolbut its great that u asked him never be afraid to tell a contractor your thoughts
Love the drone footage. You gotta a pretty good handle on that!
Well done
Thank you sir!
Very cool vlog homie thanks for the video brother
Lol I love that shirt ..amen brother
very cool!
Farm is looking very nice. And love your shirt
Thanks Roger...here is a link...lot's of folks asking where they could get one

In case you don’t know this, after those fires burn down and you’re left with nothing but coals… Those coals will still be hot months from now.
Literally… Months from now... unless they are spread out and rained on a lot.
I had one brush pile that I covered over with dirt to keep the embers from blowing. It sat there for about three months, getting rain on several times, and when I drove through it with my tractor I could feel the heat off of it. It was still very, very hot.
I’ve got several videos about brush pile burning safety.
Stay safe.
alan
Yes they will be hot for weeks for sure...unless they burn up all the way or are spread out...
Great video ! All it takes is about 500 hrs of machine time to have a used one of your own to play with ! FWIW, I suspect your operator is working the longest sight lines he has . He may well have the intent to carve some 'stair steps ' angled across the hillside when he's done with the primary grade , presuming he knows your intentions on planting the tract . Being your own General Contractor has lots of pitfalls for the inexperienced !
Good overview... The drone footage was a nice addition !
WOOOOO! Hey man...just got your ooga horn today....thanks.....shoutout coming soon
Thanks man... Been about run ragged here, and it looks like you've been stretched pretty thin yourself... A shout really sounds great Josh... I could really use it, and it would sure be a welcome boost (spirits wise) amid a bunch of work... Thank you ! Your place is looking great ! I'd love to visit one day... Will be sure to let you know if we head your way... And you are always welcome here in E. TN...
That's cool i did see another crawler loader besides the 963B that was working and a excavator but that. Probably has to do with your reply
Funny I found this old video of yours. I clear land with a 973C, I’m glad my air conditioning works on my machine and I don’t have to run an open door like him. I let the farmers I clear land for burn the piles. Let’s the fire wait for ideal conditions. $100 an hour, did you pay for his fuel too? He ain’t making money at that rate.
Love that shirt!
Love the shirt!
Glad to see you guys made it through the storm OK. I was up in your neck of the woods today and I saw were a tornado touched down right off of Highway 29 in North Carolina.
Yep bout 20 miles away...storm went right over our farm!
Oh,.....and guess what washed!! The lines he was cutting up and down the hill
I also drove through the town of Milton North Carolina. Sure looks like there’s some history there. I was driving an 18 wheeler otherwise I would’ve stopped and walked around a while.
County soil conservation can do a grant and engineered plan. You should be stacking slash for a season then burn. Much of it could have been mulched. Your loader is big enough to turn mulch.local landscapers let them dump a section of your property. Local tree services won't have to pay recycle cost. We throw in truck load fish guts.
Great video, love the shirt 🇺🇸
Thanks Richard
Have you given any thought to have a pipe put in your pond that the Fire Dept. can hook up to in case of another fire ? I did some work on a house that had no hydrants close by and that's what they did. They had a pond about the size of yours. Farm is looking great !
Love your shirt
Here's a link in case ya want one ..I had to have it !

put some silt fence up if your worried about washing and erosion. I have been doing this for 20 years
Hey Josh someone on the marketplace group up here in Connecticut has one of those diesel-powered drum grinders advertised for $7,000 or best offer. It might be something worth investing in until you're through Clearing Your Land and then you could resell it. Then again you might be able to spin it off into another business.
Love it man....good work with the drone.....I sure hope your a deer hunter. If not leade it to me....ya ...lol...no really ✌😎🌿
Love yor t shirt i would like to send u a,sticker says if u cant stand be hind our troops stand in front of them
Woooooooooo!!!!!HeeeeeeeHeeeeeeeee!!!!Alright!!!!!🤗🤗🤗
Great video Josh. Some people during the live stream yesterday don't realize the unreliability of a weather forecast and how it can change in a heartbeat in some areas. Also a little fire isn't bad for the land as the ash adds nutrients back to the soil and encourages new growth.
I agree with you...if I wasnt worried bout setting a neighbor's place on fire I would have let that fire roll right on through the woods...fire is good for the land...just not good for houses and cars lol
i like burning brush to
Cant wait for that cabin josh, my daughters will have so much fun visiting your farm.
Would love to see a video on how to process a chicken.
He has one on cleaning and sectioning meat birds. Look back in his videos. it's not very old, maybe 6 months ago or something like that.
Dylan McDonald i must have missed that one, thanks for the reminder.
I have one video out right now "how to process a chicken in 90 seconds" lot's of views...lots of complainers because it's a 10 minute video...gives you some good background info
Here we go. Another liberal t shirt...
Have a great day!
Love watching big equipment and fires. I don't know why, must be a man thing.
Guns and Explosions are cool too !!
I remember taking one of my sons skeet shooting for the first time. His mother asked him how it was. He said "You get to shoot things and they explode! What's not to like?"
Glad you fellas are enjoying it!!
Lol a man thing ! Ok then. I'm a old country girl so don't take that the wrong way! I think awesome to watch !
Not controlling erosion is one of the problems in the Dust Bowl days in Oklahoma.
It was the entire problem!! Did you know that the dust bowl was the single most life taking natural event in US history...very interesting to watch documentaries on the dust bowl...thanks for your input LakeBum!!
Come to Altus, OK you'll see all the fire you could ever want to see.
Brian Curwick sorry but I dont. We have only been here three years (good old military moves)
Woooooo
Yeah I could tell by how slow he was moving he was doing a final grade/cleanup.
You keep on talking to your contractors. Just because some is a "professional" doesn't mean they know what they are doing. I made that assumption with contractors building my house, and I have problems in the areas that I was concerned about, but didn't speak up about (or I did speak up, but didn't insist).
Amen!!! You have to be your own advocate for sure!!!
I was just about to tell you that about the dozer operator. But is always good to check . I neverminded when a land owner asked questions about what I was doing and why. Always keep the communications open that way all parties involved know exactly what is going on. Good job Josh.
Arkansas Pilgrim ..amen to that. Professionals can screw up things bigger & better.
Technically, a "professional" is someone who gets paid to do something; an "amateur" is someone who does it because they love it (Latin root "amare": to love). Being good at it is another thing.
Kind of like the word "expert". It means that someone has published something on the subject. Knowing what they are talking about is another thing.
Right, have respect they are the pro, but ask good questions, and remember, they are not as bbn invested as you are with your home. Get your questions out while bidding, pick the good price that meets your criteria from the questions, and then verify once onsite, that you and them are in agreement. Dont rush or settle, these are really important parts.
erosion....can be a BIG problem if it gets out of hand! One question; there's a ton of good looking firewood in those brushpiles, what kept you from trying to harvest a good portion of that for future use?
hello Josh name is James how do you trim goats feet the way i do that is get some concert blocks that they can climb on plus when the goats go climbing on rock cliffs that have a rough surface plus some of the tree stumps can be use for goats to climb on while they play
So do you spread out the wood ash over the land before planting the grass? It's really coming together!
Yes we do....then come back and pick up sticks all summer long!
Better to have a professional do this job. Wise choice Josh!
I can handle the burning...but cant predict crazy weather...shoot we had a tornado right after the fire got out on sunday!! Crazy!
I like your setup on the Gator! Could you explain your tool setup as well as the carry-all between the roll bars. I'd like to do something like this and would love to have you explain your setup. I have a farm in Central Oklahoma and am setting my place & tools up. Thanks Josh!
Yes I will...give me a few weeks I have a broken rail on it as of now...the rail that holds that bag up on the back is broken (for the second time)
Stoney Ridge Farmer thank you sir! Look forward to it. Love the channel and enjoy to see the new videos! Keep up the good work!
Love the shirt 🇺🇸 whoops I just seen someone else made that comment O well great shirt🇺🇸😅
Hey...all good man...thanks! It's how I feel too!!
Nice shirt
josh you tired of smelling wood burning yet? 😂awesome drone footage btw
YES!! and I imagine all my neighbors are too!
Did he dig out the tree stumps with that machine too?
How about this song Josh.......Come on down to stoney ridge.....lots of cold ones in the frige.....milk that is.....sorry......Wooo
You have a valid concern Josh, If you get huge storm and a field of dirst and it's slope if you get enough water flowing your definetly headed for soil erosion. If you do your groves it will break that flow up and keep the water from getting too much turbulence in the flow and washing your dirt away. And agree with getting that grass seed in asap, the guicker the seed can take, the quicker your dirst starts to sprout some grass and then again no soil erosion from rain in the future due to the grass suckin that water up and helping it grow
Amen!!! We got 3 inches of rain sunday in about 20 minutes!!! The new grass on the other side of the hill picked up the water and kept things in check....worked like a charm!!
Guys and Gals dont forget to follow us on Instagram: instagram.com/stoneyridgefarmer
We have 2 960 cat loads
what is the song in the background on this video? is that you singing?
The video from 3 years ago about the 963B there was another track loader and an excavator. What was that doing there?
We've cleared land for 5 years in a row on the farm my friend...just chipping away at it
Josh question for you. Which software do you use to edit your videos?
My sentiments exactly on your shirt, I'll help them pack
