I dropped the ex4 files in that folder, but MT4 is not showing them. You have to quite MT4, open it again and then you will find the new indicators in the panel

Hi. I gained access to a MT4 indicator I want to install. I download to my desktop. However, I could not open it (missing an app I guess), so I could copy the ex4 file & install it on MT4. What do I need to install so the ex4 can be opened & copied for MT4? Thanks.

It's not possible to "decompile." If you know how the EA works, you can have a programmer create a similar EA.

You can't, custom indicators and EAs are for the desktop version only.
I just downloaded Mt4 but after installing it shows MT5 it doesn't recognize Mt4
Yeah, they are really pushing MT5. Some of the MT4 installers will actually install MT5. You'll have to look around, try demo accounts with different brokers.
Download from a broker and search your own broker while logging in
