I've done something like this on my car's manual transmission gears where they chipped, rounded or were otherwise worn. I went easy and the car and trans are running fine. A rotary tool with the right bits is like a mini machine shop in a box. It has its limits but within these limits it's really useful.
A little grease on those secondary seals will help keep water out of the cartridge bearings and you could pull the seal from the side facing out and make sure there is enough grease on that seal too. All those seals need grease in order to keep water out. If its dry it will only keep dust out.

@@NiceBikeServiceI've found that automatic transmission fluid with a little grease added to it and mixed works well in the pawls. About one part grease to 4 or 5 parts ATF. That stays put and the ATF has enough detergent to prevent it from gumming up. I keep a bottle of it premixed it's good for Derailleur pivots, well most pivots and ratchet types indexing shift levers . It pennetrates and breaks up the old crusty lubricant and is self cleaning. I would get all these points of lubrication first and leave it sit while tuning up a bicycle and wipe it clean after after I was done and had a good test ride. A drip bottle with a small not to small straw worked well. Almost forgot I kept 2 bottles the one I used for the pivots and stuff had about 7 ml of STP (an automobile oil addive) added to it because it really helped it pennetrate into the pivots and bushing. The one for the pawls I didn't put the STP in.
I had a similar problem, one butterfly leaf broke in two and also on a freehub body one whole tooth was chipped out, so I found the same in good shape and made one freehub out of two busted ones...
I just read a forum about this cuz my pedal keeps skipping. And i Just recently changed my chain. Now i know why it does that. Nc solution but ill buy a new wheelset now cuz mine is pretty old.
Are you sure it's the freewheel? Is the new chain skipping against the worn teeth of the old cassette? That's often a problem when a chain is replaced too late, and has worn the cassette. The solution in that case is to change the cassette.
My wheels are solid axle by original, can the frame still fit with the thru axle wheel with quick release ? (It has the dropout like the bike in the video)
If I understood you correctly, your wheels can be inserted into the frame with dropouts if you buy special adapters for the wheels. Look for them in online stores, they are not expensive
Replace the pawls as machining will cause them to perform differently , possibly they won't synchronise perfectly . Also order a replacement spring/s .
@@NiceBikeService Replacing the large fine circular pawl spring which I have a few of as spares , is a good short to medium term solution . Sometimes when an old rear freehub is being retired , a spring can be cannibalised to other tasks requiring one . A bit like salvaging .

Notice that @4:27 not all the pawls engage the freehub body, The pawl at position 4 o'clock engages while the one at 8 o'clock does not. (I can't see the one at 12 o'clock.). In effect, a single pawl bears all the forces until this pawl wears and eventually they all engage evenly, which increases the chance that you'll break a pawl. I guess you can take out the longest pawl and file it shorter you match tem all as best as you can.
@@achimk.3010 Are you asking me, or the channel owner? I guess you can use a caliper, but you're probably not going to get it perfect as the small hardened pawl doesn't have to vary much (microns?) before you get mismatched loading. However, they wear even when used, so getting them close will shorten the time any one pawl bears the entire load. I hadn't even considered the wear of the ratchet, so maybe perfect distribution of forces is not possible.

Або поки весь механізм остаточно не вийде з ладу.
