@DanielleM576 I would suggest using a pry tool or flat head screwdriver to get on the side of the battery. They can be popped up pretty easily using something thin and sturdy.
@musicalknowledgecrew That usually means the LCD screen is either faulty, damaged, or not fully connected (rare, but possible to cause this). A new screen is likely the best way to resolve the issue.
@Ludogg0 Yes, this is the best way of replacing a touch screen (assuming it does not have motherboard damage). The assembly is much better to replace as the touch screen and LCD screen are fused together.
@Clubpenguinfan2489 You have the outside glass touch screen know as the touch screen digitizer. Underneath that you have the LCD screen. The LCD screen is what makes the image.
@nirvanarocks83 The motherboard is the "brain", it runs all the software and reads all the sensors. It can be damaged physically, but is pretty rare. Water damage is much more common. Sounds like replacing the screen assembly will resolve the issue if everything else appears fine. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
Okay, I need to do this to mine, but seems to be that my screw for the battery is stripped and not coming out, is it possible to still do this, and if not, any solutions on getting a small screw like that out? Thanks!
@RepairsUniverse whats the motherboard and how is it damaged. my iphone 4 screen is completely shattered but i can see some parts and everything is working fine
i have an iphone 4 which was dropped, luckily the screen did not smash. However, when i turn it on to unlock it the screen has loads of lines down it after a while of tapping and sliding my finger on the screen it slowly comes on. Is there anyway of fixing it?
you need to replace the screen and lcd. then you can do whatever you want to with your phone because replacing parts other than the mainboard will not harm the data on the phone

@ndnoq112 Sounds like just an LCD screen issue. I would double check the LCD connection to be sure it is fully in place.
