this is the BEST iphone repair video on youtube !!!! there are alot out there that suck.... the printable chart is so helpful....thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I work for an electronics repair company called GoTronics and I just wanted to say this is a very well made video and the instructions are done very well. This is the number one phone we get and it is 99% for a broken screen repair.
thanx for being patient and detailed in your video. im glad i came across your vid because everyone else rush thru their vid and didn't show where to place the screws. i bought my supply from iphoneshop usa and follow this video and it my problem was fix and my screen work like new. once again thanx , keep the good video quality going !!
Thanks for putting this up. I took me 4 hours to complete. The hardest parts for me was removing the battery and screwing the tiny screws. Using a hairdryer made the job a lot more easy. To screw the tiny screws you'll need a magnetic screwdriver. You can make your screwdriver magnetic by hitting it with a hammer. It sounds weird but it does work.
Hey, would just like to say I've brought the Red conversion kit off eBay and installed it using this video. Went perfectly and if you follow the steps it's not that hard. Just remember the screws are ridiculously small!! I got myself a large sheet of paper and replicated the circles as on the video just to make sure I knew were everything was. The only tips i'd add to this video is that the battery on my phone was stuck down so I had to use a bit of force to get it out. Also, when removing the
Thank You. Got the parts today and just gotten done put it back together. A little challenging because the 4S is a little different but I got through OK. Will look you up again next time I drop the phone.
You made a great video thank you, I have been using my own paper map for the screws, but I like your mat! I will be visiting your website! I repair iPhones, itouchs, iPads for now 1 year and it's really cool to see other people doing the same. Great video!
Excellent tutorial. I appreciate the time and effort put into the details. I will order from your company because you have proven to be reputable and knowledgeable... ;)
The description says it's for the iPhone 4. The digitizer and LCD on an iPhone 4 cannot be separated. Anyone who's looking to buy a replacement LCD or digitizer learns that pretty quickly. So the description, while not complete, is sufficient to serve it's purpose. The 1000+ people who've indicated that the video helped them by "liking" it are proof of that.
@TheInsaneMembrain Thanks for the tips! I performed my first replacement yesterday, and the screws with the washers was what took me the longest, I spent forever trying to get them back in (i should have used a magnetic driver). I will definitely do this for my next repair!
can we replace the white screen of iPhone 4 into the iPhone 4 black one? Does the Screen of White one match with the black one ? Thanks for the great tutorial.
PLEASE READ!!! I purchased the front glass digitizer replacement for my iPhone 4, I wanted to turn my phone from black to white. I saw your video tutorial on RUclips. I replaced the front and put my phone back together. Everything worked perfect! I couldn't be happier, the only problem is my phone won't pick up any wifi signals? Could you please help me out and tell me why I might have done wrong and how I may be able to fix it, thank you!
Good Video. Much of this must be done with extreme care and delicate hands. I damaged my replacement screen and had to buy another one. I put the cracked one back for awhile. New one in OK now. But extreme care must be taken with everything. Not really explained too well in this video! Still a great video though. Good job!!
Did you replace the LCD as well? I'm getting ready to attempt a cracked screen repair on my sons 4s but I was told its better if I just buy the entire assembly instead of attempting to separate the glass from the LCD. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@roob5 nice to hear you got your iPhone 4 back to working and looking new. what was the hardest part in doing the repair yourself? glad our iPhone 4 repair video helped out.
did you replace the lcd and digitizer as 1 piece? i've heard it can be tough to seperate the two if reusing a non damaged lcd. any experience with this?
Can you replace just the front glass? Is there a way to remove the LCD/Digitizer from the glass? I see videos of everyone changing the whole screen assembly, but I see people selling just the glass on eBay.
just wanted to give 2 tips: 1: my battery was glued in pretty good, so i had to remove the main board and the speaker assembly and then get the battery out, which was still hard at the end without trying to damage it 2. the screws with the washers that hold the screen, (3 on each side) don't have to be completely removed, just loosen them as much as you can without removing the actual screw and the screen will still be removable, the 4 in the corners will have to be removed
Would just like to point out from a previous post that my Red iPhone still looks awesome!! I had to take my phone apart again because my on/off button was broken and after repairing it I've been having problems with my proximity sensor. If you do change your screen just remember this is a well know problem with the iPhone 4. ;-)
Great video. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to display the step number in a corner of the screen. Really helps those of us who have to do a lot of rewinding. :)
I think magnetizing the screwdrivers might be helpful. (You can see in the video that the screwdriver is magnetized.) To do this at home, take a strong magnet and rub it against the metal of the screwdriver from the middle to the tip. The more times you do this, and the stronger the magnet, the stronger the effect on the screwdriver. This may help get the screws out when they're turning and turning but not coming loose.
i got a conversion kit for my iphone four but after doing it myself, i turn it on and everything works except the actual display i can onlock it at lok it again the only light is a greyish color lighting up the screen i can hear the lock sound too idk if i had pinched a cable and broke it where i need to buy another or it can be fixed?
I'm looking forward to replace my screen with iphoneshopusa but I'm worried... Is the replacement digitizer assembly as good as the original? Is it OEM or some less quality part (heard some chinese knockoffs have severe light bleeding defect for instance caused by poor manufacturing standards).
@prochafilho use a magnet and as u disassemble put the screws you pull out onto it so they dont roll away. Using multiple magnets helps specially where different size screws are in question.
If everything is working on my phone, it still rings and I can slide to answer, but I don't have any video on screen would the whole screen need to be replaced or can I just change another part?
I really need you to answer my question please! I recently broke my iphone screen and now my iphone wont turn on, like the screen is all black although the phone is technically still on. I can still recieve calls and texts just that the phone wont turn on anymore. I was thinking of buying a new screen from amazon and using this video to change the screen. Will replacing the broken screen with the new screen allow the phone to work like it used to ? Like the lighting will function properly ? because something tells me somethings wrong with the wiring inside or something
@khambeuy if the top shield. specifically the longest screw that holds it in place isn't installed on the iPhone 4. That will cause the iPhone to have a weak wifi signal.
does anyone know where iphoneshopusa gets there lcd/digitizers? I can't find any lcd/digitizer replacements that dont have an ugly grid above the speaker grill. The replacement screen iphoneshopusa uses looks completely OEM. Any help? Thanks in advance!
So i can totally recommend doing it yourself if your a bit handy. The only thing i would also recommend is having a small strong magnet available - the tools i got wasnt magnetized - and it was hell to get some of the small screws back in place when i couldnt stick them to the screwdriver. Luckily i had a whole set of my kids magnets that i could use to magnetize the tools. And yeah - KEEP PERFECT TRACK OF THE SCREWS/PARTS!
Yes you take the blue label of try not to touch it when you do. Grate video got a whit iPhone 4 only took about a hour first time coz of this video thanks mate.
Hi i would like to ask. Is this actually a repair movie regarding an iphone 4G? I wonder because i actually want to fix my broke glass from the Iphone 4G, it is NOT the Iphone 4S which i got. I hope you will answer me. Thanks in advance!
Takes a good hour and a half. With practice you could probably do it in half the time, but the key is not to rush. Be patient, take your time and the end result will be satisfying.

perfectly explained, i liked the paper you are working on :)
Great. Thanks for helping me get my phone useful again.

I hope you will answer me.

How do you replace the front glass while reusing the original digitizer? Mine is still good and the lens is alot cheaper on it's own.
what kinda job did you get? to fix someones iphone or to work a shop?
Takes a good hour and a half. With practice you could probably do it in half the time, but the key is not to rush. Be patient, take your time and the end result will be satisfying.
i dont have a sim card on mine. Do I just keep going or do I have to do something else?
