Hello there I would like to get a hold of you about a part that I cannot find on my iphone 5s. I am trying to order the front facing camera but need the ground sticker that sits on the metal on the back of the display. this thin copper piece ripped as I was pulling the digitizer off. Do you know what piece I am talking about and can you help me find it. Everything I look for on ebay does not show the ground sticker. I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you!!!
unfortunately when I wanted to replace the screen, it is not cracked, it is a cheap crappy aftermarket one that I want to change with the original cracked one, this cheap screen makes my phone slower
Outstanding video! The PDF Screw Chart was invaluable, with so many different size screws and parts, no way I could have kept that straight without the chart! It took me a while to get it done but thanks to your video it worked perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :-)
DUDE! YOU'RE BATMAN! Perfect video, ordered the part, printed out the map and went to work. 90 minutes later my kids phone is back in business. Thanks for posting! the phone was dropped onto a wood floor from the kitchen counter. a good three piece case was on the phone but still suffered damage. screen diddnt break just went blue with a few verticle lines. apple store told me motherboard was bad, wife had no confidence on the screen swap as the old one wasnt broke but i had to try it. proved them all wrong. thanks again.
Simple and straightforward disassembly and assembly walkthrough, calmly narrated... and the genius part is the downloadable pdf, which once printed out is utterly invaluable. Gave the me the confidence to undertake this and it worked. Thank you.
One of the best tutorial videos on you tube. Most other videos seem to play useless, annoying music that has no value. Thank you for this and hope you do more videos on other models. thanks.
From what I gather your name is Zack. I would like to thank you, from one man to another, Z or JerryRigEverything, whoever you may be. My name is Dylan, and I just used your incredibly helpful tutorial to switch my main board out from my GSM model into a CDMA body that had been lying unused for years after I completely annihilated both front+back, and some innards of my 4s by taking a fall playing with my five year old son this past weekend at the park. You have saved me so much time money and stress as well as giving me a way to make sure this single parent can face time with little Dylan and tell him "I love and miss you" every night. I am so grateful. Thank you so much! Dylan
+Dylan Joslin My name is Zack. And thank you for your comment. This is a really tough phone to work on! I'm impressed you got it all figured out. Good job! I'm glad I could help out a little.
This is about the best presentation I've yet to see on tearing down an iPhone; particularly with the added 'freebie' parts-plan, a really nice touch. Well done!
Without instructions, this job seems intimidating. Thanks for a straight forward walkthrough on disassembly, re-assembly, tool links, and a handy printout to keep organized. Greatly appreciated.
you helped a vietnamese guy want to fix his Iphone4s now, i can tell you that. Not sure if i want to record how i fix but at least i got general idea how to do it now. Thanks man!
I work at a phone repair place and they were about to toss out a mountain of iPhone 4 parts and parts-phones and I stopped them with the intent of building a working phone from them. Now everyone there is making bets as to whether or not I’ll be able to do it. Glad you had this video so I could get acquainted with a phone that no one has seen for five years to prepare for my challenge.
Straight to the point. These are the kinds of videos I like to watch. I hate when I get some guy trying to be funny throughout the video making them longer than they should be. Great job!
Hi Jerry! Your tutorial is a life saver. Fixed my wife's broken glass and my home button issue and your pdf file is absolute genius. I'm glad I found your site. It save me a lot of dollars and headache.
Thanks so much @JerryRigEverything! Thanks to you, your video and your wonderful pdf, I have replaced BOTH front and back screens on my iPhone 4s with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Brilliant - 5 stars!!
Today I do big mistake I just wanna change battery for iPhone 4s but I didn’t know it’s just very easy. Just slide back cover, but what I did is I pull out front LCD screen make it crack and the LCD no longer work. I thought it’s just same like iPhone 5 upper need open start front LCD but apparently iPhone 4s not. Fuck I did big mistake by doing that. Now I need change the new LCD
These instructions gave my son's phone another life. Thank you for exellent video and other info! Got it done in a bit less than two hours and two cold one's. I forgot to print the .pdf when I had the chance, but I drew my own. 5/5
Truly a genius. I have never seen someone thoroughly explain a tutorial video with as much detail and appreciation as you do. I will reccomend you always.
Video and instruction was AWESOME!! Anyone looking to attempt this fix heed his recommendation..... use the screw chart to keep track of everything. Bring up this video and use Play/Pause to go through the procedure. Plan 2 hours. I did have one casualty... tore one of the ribbon cables on my new screen. Although it didn't appear to be at first, it got pinched when I slid them through onto the phone during reassembly (pay attention at 4:25 - 4:45 in the video).
This is by far the best video and PDF on fixing my iPhone 4s! While it's involved to fix the screen, with the help of the video and PDF, it was straightforward. Thanks much!
I just finished replacing the screen for my daughter's iphone. The PDF printout was so useful and the video was very easy to follow. Thank you very much.
Jerry Nice! Worked like a charm. I ordered the recommended tools and screen. Dismantle took just seven minutes...Putting it back together took like 2hrs...ouch! With a few more tools I'm sure I can do this in 15 mins. My first problem was unscrewing the two thicker screws on the main board. No tool in the kit would fit right so I had to search around my house until I found a normal sized flat head tweaker (Eyeglass tweaker) to remove them. Second road bump was not being able to see the technique you used to put the side screws and washers back in. I found it really time consuming and with the magnetized bits the 6 tiny washers and 6 tiny screws kept fighting each other. Even after I got it in...I would try to turn the bit and the magnet would pull the screw off to the side of the bit head. So I'm adding these Items to my multi-use screen repair toolkit (in addition to Olympia Tools 88-670 iWork you recommended). Tweezer, flat head tweaker set (Magnetized), A set of NON magnetized phillip and flat head tweakers (This will make the 6 side screws and washers much easier to put back in after setting them in the screw hole with the tweezers.), LED Lamp, cheap LED DSLR video light (The lamp is good for when you pick up the iphone - The DSLR light can be used with the base from a speedlite, it's adjustable, and great for when you have the iphone on the table.) Thanks Jerry! SG
Skygif Inc Awesome tips man. I really do need to get a LED DSLR light... Especially for filming new videos. Its great to get feedback like this, so I know what to mention on my future videos.
I have to say thank you...Thank you! I fixed my phone about a week ago and another one about a minute ago. Tutorial and PDF chart worked like a charm. I have three tips for the folks doing this: Go slowly and listen to what Jerry has to say. I wish I did the first time around in parts like 5:26. One of the cables got trapped under the main board and I had to disassemble it and fix it. Invest in a good magnetic screwdriver and non-magnetic screwdriver. There are times where one or the other are beneficial. I have a great screwdriver made by the "Teeny Turner" company. Lastly, use tweezers or needle-nose pliers. They make everything so much easier. Thanks again! I'll be back.
Just wanted to say thanks! I used your video and pdf to keep track of all the screws and parts and I changed my I4s cover with no problems. It looks and works great. Thanks Again.
almost perfect! the print-out was awesome!..you forgot to tell me to re-connect the home button and now I have to dis-assemble all over again... but the screen is definitely working so TYSM!
Hey man good video. Found you from Reddit. Just a couple things I noticed. You don't have to remove those screws on the side completely to get the screen off. It's actually more of a pain to get them back in. Just a turn and a half and the screen comes right off. Second, you didn't replace the adhesive you removed under the lcd assembly. It's not terribly necessary but it makes it a more quality repair. Keep it up!
Thank you for that paper. What a world of difference, the glass is an easy one, pretty basic to replace, but the different screws and sizes placing them back correctly. That's a great idea. Thank you
Thank you! My I phone 5s went red screen on me and nothing worked! I have no car so I couldn't go to AT&T. Then I remembered I had an I phone 4s that I was almost finished replacing screen. There were a few "doo dads" left over and I didn't have a clue! I wish I had the PDF from the get go. Anyway, the video still helped. I was missing some screws and had none for the outside of phone. I made sure it worked and it did! so I just glued the phone together(I will get my 5s repaired soon.) I just needed the phone for taking pics on ebay. (Our club house has wifi)I was able to "jerry rig" the sim card from the 5s to the 4s and that worked as well! so now I can make phone calls and use internet. Yippee!!
sweet tutorial, thanks for not making me watch while you unscrewed all the screws. the Parts Chart is pure genius. a couple of things I had difficulty with, that maybe a smarter person wouldn't... the ribbon connectors from the new screen put up a small struggle when feeding thru the phone. I didn't realize they weren't all the way thru and had to backtrack. The ribbon connectors on the side of the main board like to flop under the mainboard. that small one ended up underneath after the screws were in... I had to backtrack again. surprisingly, it seems to be working. thanks, saved me 50 bucks.
Christine Troxell Nice! I'm glad you liked my screw chart. I feel like it really does help people who attempt this project. And thanks for the tips. I'm sure they will help future viewers. Thanks for watching my videos!
This has to be the best video I have seen for replacing the screen's for the iphone 4s. I have 2 phones that need screens replaced and after watching his video & the very awesome placement sheet that he has I am not afraid to try.

Huge thanks for this tutorial! I've successfully changed my iPhone 4s lcd with digitaizer. The little screws were pain in the ass, but your PDF helped a lot :)
Thank you I was able to replace the screen on iphone 4s which was stored for over 5 years in my desk. Bought the screen in auction for €4. it takes me 3hours but with a lot of fun 🤣🤣
Thank you very much for your video AND the invaluable PDF Screw Chart. Was able to replace my daughter's iPhone 4S screen because of it. Great video, you explain everything very well. Couldn't have done it without it! Thx again Jerry!!
Thanks for the upload and link to PDF copy. I just replaced my screen just now and it works like a champ. The way you explained how to put everything back helped a lot. Thank you. I'm subbing and sharing.
There were so many small screws. I dropped one once and was on the floor like a fiend searching for a piece. Smh. Thanks tho, I appreciate this upload.
Great video and the pdf was super helpful. It made fixing a friend's 4s really simple. But wow, that thing was way more complicated than the couple of 5cs that I have worked on. I'm glad they changed how things work on the newer ones.
Hi Jerry! Thank you so much for posting the video and especially for the PDF screw chart. The screen replacement was just as you described and I echo Harry's comment that the PDF Screw Chart was invaluable to keeping everything sorted. Thank you again!
Great video! Very, very helpful. Unfortunatelly I tore one of the ribbon cables on the replacement screen. Now i'm waiting for another one and i'll give it another try.
Thank You so much for theses directions and screw sheet. They helped so much. I followed your video and was able to fix this phone for my son. I will recommend your site to all my friends
The scariest hour and 45 mins of my life! Thank you for the video, THANK YOU for the paper and Bless you for going back thru how to put it back together instead of just saying "Now do it all in reverse to put it back together"!!!! Lol My phone is all better now!
thank you sir, your video was very helpful. I just wish i wasn't sou stupid not printing your pdf, it would have been a lot more easier, but i managed anyway. Now my wife has her phone back, so thank you again.
anakinisdarth21 Ikr, and when I first cracked my screen, I paid to get it replaced, and they wore out one of the six screws out so much it doesn't even do anything, won't budge
Dude, Thank you i wish i had come to your video first, before i broke the first replacement screens logic ribbon, among other things...also that chart, amazing, hope you them for other phones as well...well most phones dont have so many screws and itty bitty stuff, lol..
That was very clear - I've just cannibalized two iPhone 4s' to create a working one and have just plugged it in to charge. The only suggestion I'd make is that you make a point of mentioning which screws go where as you disassemble - there are at least three screw sizes and types and I got a bit confused when I put it all back together again. Otherwise incredibly clear. Thanks!
No, sadly - no access to a printer. I did have a clear table top with various containers for the parts from each phone and was able to keep track of what I was doing. Two problems I had. The first was that I broke one of the screw mounts on the motherboard fire the charging port connector shield and then couldn't figure out which screw held the other end of the bracket in place so it's presently floating slightly loosely in place. The second was that I couldn't seem to find the small bracket that goes under the battery plate so had to do without it. Are either of these things liable to overheat the phone? I'm keeping an eye on it.
Use just for local calls is recommended by me in 2023 and 2024 bcoz I am using this iphone 4 in 2024. So just for call it's the best choice bcoz of his pocket size and premium feeling
Thank you very much for your video. It worked perfectly, except that there's a part left, that I don't know where it goes and it's not even on your parts chart pdf. I remember that this part came off when I took the battery off, but I don't know where it's going now. There's letters and numbers at the bottom of the part: HF/e1.
+JerryRigEverything This video is fantastic and the PDF makes it even better. I'll be ordering the parts for my 4s tomorrow. Thanks for putting this up
Thank You Very much it help me a lot and i fix my Iphone 4S screen. But i had probelm my Power Button missed up but its okay thank you again i Subscribed and liked the video
Thank you for an amazing and informative video. Made the repair sooo much easier with your instructions. Thanks for the parts layout sheet too, it was very invaluable. Phone worked perfectly!!
This comment is super late to the party, but it’s incredible how the iPhone 7 and modern phones have much simpler components in them. This looks like a nightmare to repair. Anyways great video! I will be using this to see if I can replace a battery in one of my old iPhone 4s.
This is an awesome help. I broke a cable on the digitiser first time but it's all working now with a second attempt. Thank goodness for the parts chart to keep track of all those incredibly tiny screws. Good job Jerry!
Thank you, super easy to follow and everything was going well until I got to the speakers. One of the screws is so stripped I really can't remove it. Put it back together and it's working perfectly. I only have the small iphone tools kit, I have to borrow a proper one to get that screw moving. Sigh...

Concise and clear - without this I had no chance. Just the DB's
That PDF is a stroke of genius.
Thank you JerryRigEverything, I just successfully changed out my phone's screen.
Thank You so much for theses directions and screw sheet. They helped so much. I followed your video and was able to fix this phone for my son. I will recommend your site to all my friends
+Howard Gibbs Awesome! Glad I was able to help out. Good job on fixing the phone yourself!
Awesome job. Your procedure is very well detailed and simple to follow. You just helped me replaced my iPhone 4s screen. Thanks.
You are the master from the past
2017 and it was still useful. THANK YOU!
Best tutorial videos on RUclips bar none great job
Thanks man!
The scariest hour and 45 mins of my life! Thank you for the video, THANK YOU for the paper and Bless you for going back thru how to put it back together instead of just saying "Now do it all in reverse to put it back together"!!!! Lol My phone is all better now!
neuspeedvw Nice! I am glad that paper came in handy! Thanks for letting me know you finished it!
Thank you. Easy to follow. I have successfully replaced my screen with the aid of this video
Absolutely brilliant video and advice, daughters iPhone now working perfectly. Many thanks. G
Thanks a lot Jerry, I fix my iPhone 4s with your great help
Thank again
thank you sir, your video was very helpful. I just wish i wasn't sou stupid not printing your pdf, it would have been a lot more easier, but i managed anyway. Now my wife has her phone back, so thank you again.
Very good video. Thanks :)
Don't forget the little bras by the camera. It's held down by the screw under the black tape.
Good call, thanks for the heads up.
Getting the four screws in the corner back on is more complicated than performing surgery.
anakinisdarth21 Ikr, and when I first cracked my screen, I paid to get it replaced, and they wore out one of the six screws out so much it doesn't even do anything, won't budge
ii_Nick how much was it
LOL!!!!!!
Your voice gives me tingles
Wonderful! It worked out perfectly. The PDF was really good to have. Thank You!
You are the best!
The chart that you made is the best thank you
Your a real life-saver Zack!
Big ups! It all went swimmingly. Handy print out!
Dude, Thank you i wish i had come to your video first, before i broke the first replacement screens logic ribbon, among other things...also that chart, amazing, hope you them for other phones as well...well most phones dont have so many screws and itty bitty stuff, lol..
Thank you! You helped me do an outstanding job, but the seller sent me an iPhone 4 screen as I have a 4s. Will come back for the reassembly.
Thanks so much, I completed it with no problems whatsoever
Damn, do you/(or whoever makes them) still make those papers for newer phones
That was very clear - I've just cannibalized two iPhone 4s' to create a working one and have just plugged it in to charge.
The only suggestion I'd make is that you make a point of mentioning which screws go where as you disassemble - there are at least three screw sizes and types and I got a bit confused when I put it all back together again. Otherwise incredibly clear. Thanks!
Good suggestion. Did you use the screw chart i made? It was supposed to help keep things organized.
Anyone else getting this recommended in 2023 going into 2024?
Use just for local calls is recommended by me in 2023 and 2024 bcoz I am using this iphone 4 in 2024. So just for call it's the best choice bcoz of his pocket size and premium feeling
Thank you very much for your video. It worked perfectly, except that there's a part left, that I don't know where it goes and it's not even on your parts chart pdf. I remember that this part came off when I took the battery off, but I don't know where it's going now. There's letters and numbers at the bottom of the part: HF/e1.
Fantastic step by step instructions!!
Great Job of Teaching!!
This tutorial is so smooth and fast.
+JerryRigEverything This video is fantastic and the PDF makes it even better. I'll be ordering the parts for my 4s tomorrow. Thanks for putting this up

Thanks, JerryRig. The instructions were great. Unfortunately, my new screen was not touch sensitive after I reassembled my iPhone 4S. Any suggestions?
Bro youre the best and the chart is awesome
i loved this tutorial , so simple and straight , really helpful sheet , thanks man.
+Kevin Rodriguez Glad I could help out! Thanks for watching.
Thanks you so much @JerryRigEverything :) This has helped us so much.
This comment is super late to the party, but it’s incredible how the iPhone 7 and modern phones have much simpler components in them. This looks like a nightmare to repair. Anyways great video! I will be using this to see if I can replace a battery in one of my old iPhone 4s.
Thank you so much for such a detailed and informative tutorial...much appreciated.
You, sir, are a genius.
Thank you very much. This helped me to fix the screen by myself.
This is an awesome help. I broke a cable on the digitiser first time but it's all working now with a second attempt. Thank goodness for the parts chart to keep track of all those incredibly tiny screws. Good job Jerry!
Very helpful and concise video. Thanks!
Thank you mate, everything worked like a charm
Thanks for the vid and the parts/screw sheet! It helped alot!
TheNmg101 Glad I could help out! Thank you for watching.
Great Video! I got the whole thing finished powered it on and the screen turned on and looked fine but unresponsive... anything i can do?
Very detailed instructions. Thanks, job completed.
Thank you, super easy to follow and everything was going well until I got to the speakers. One of the screws is so stripped I really can't remove it. Put it back together and it's working perfectly. I only have the small iphone tools kit, I have to borrow a proper one to get that screw moving. Sigh...
I love watching your videos please do more on phones please
I have a lot of videos planned for the future.
Good can't wait for them
Thanks a lot for the video and the handy loose parts map. You helped me to fix my phone! =)
