This video is PERFECT! Literally yesterday, while buying groceries with my wife, someone knocked my mirror off. Insurance was talking about some crazy high deductible. I figured, I’d just fix it myself.
Duane M damn!!! Really! Hey I’m glad I could help. If you got the same car make sure you check out my Kia engine settlement series. Make sure you get that update so your car can have that lifetime engine warranty!!!!!
The white part on the outside of the old mirror assembly will pry of your old one... Start prying right at the outer end of the signal light area.... No screws just pry it off with a plastic electronic pry tool (kinda like prying the back off a cell phone, just little snaps) and you should be able to pop it right on the new assembly "it should have the same "snaps"on it" after you pop the new "black one off the new one"....
Anna Coop Haha that’s awesome. That’s why I made the video. I will be making more videos like that as well to help people out. Thank you for watching, please subscribe and share if you can. Again thank you.
Mike Benns haha I’m glad it helped. Did you see my video on the recall video I posted on our cars? I’m doing a part 2 today as an update on how to fill out the application.
Mike Benns yes please do. If you haven’t already, consider subscribing. My car is just now starting to want to stall. Will do a detailed video on the application process as soon as I leave my office.
Thank you! For watching and leaving a comment. I've been getting some really bad comments on my videos. I only make videos to help people because I was in that situation. I really appreciate you leaving a comment . If you haven't already please consider subscribing
@@StraightOuttaContent The linked product was not available unfortunately! Also mine was for 2013 Optima. Try adding more products for more various year models :)
Quick question. The glass that came in that new side mirror assembly, does the reflection look warped or wonky or something like that? Not looking like an one glass?
The connector is square with wires coming out the middle if you look at it from inside the car. On the top part of that square if you press in with a thin flathead screwdriver you can then pull it out with no effort needed.

agentsmitty2009 I only used a 10mm socket. It was pretty simple. Just 3 nuts to remove. But remember the aftermarket side mirror will be a little different. Mine still works perfectly on my car till this day. Thank you for leaving a comment
Thank you for the information that you share with us , I'd like to share info with me you in case you didn't know, I was reading the the settlement agreement for the KIA engine class action lawsuit and was really disappointed to discover that in the settlement agreement that if you purchased,Own or leased any in territories, that you and your vehicle are excluded from the settlement. A supervisor told me that she'd have the research team look into it and someone from research would call so far no calls at all
Yea unfortunately they have some fine print things in there that doesn't cover all cars in all areas. It really kinda sucks. I tried to help as many people as I could. Thank you for watching and taking the time to share the info
Couple of things. You left the 3 nuts on the mirror studs when you installed it. They are run down to the bottom of the threads as shown when you put the stud through the door. You can see this at 8:48. The silver nits are still attached. Also These cheap aftermarket mirrors do not have studs long enough for your factory interior trim piece. That's also shown in the video when you put your factory nuts back on. The threads should protrude another 1/2 after the nut is tightened down to allow the interior trim piece to engage the exposed stud threads to attach the trim piece. I guess that is why you didn't show the interior trim piece being installed. If anyone uses one of the Junky replacement mirrors you will need to take your factory studs out of your old mirror and swap them out into the aftermarket mirror, otherwise your interior panel that covers the mirror studs won't attach at all. They are in there with thread locker so good luck.
None of that is true and I have a bunch of videos with the interior shown and the mirror is still on and working perfectly!!!! Thanks for the comment but it’s working fine!
I have this problem where the interior trim piece won’t attach but I don’t have the old mirror, what are the pieces on the interior trim called so I can replace them?
Oh man thank you. That's so good to hear. This is my best video on this channel. I am so glad it helped. I am actually in the process of repairing the Kia by my self. Stay tuned for those videos. If you haven't Subscribed please do and if you have please share this video🙏🏿
Some guy opened his car door into traffic and BOOM! knocked my whole mirror off. Well its still hanging from the wire, but the glass and hinges are definitely broken.
Just about 22 minutes of content between the two videos. For a seven minute job. I mean the repair was nice but all the talking and other BS I felt like I wasted too much of my morning.

I have a 2014 Kia Optima Turbo and the passenger side mirror with the blind spot motion needs replacement . Someone broke it and I’m told it’ll be around $500 . The BSM on the drivers side has stopped working due to this. I need help because I don’t have $500 to replace this…… HELP🥲
