I have to hand it to Behringer, they put out these panels because they didn't like how bad the music industry was screwing people on the price pedals. I have a couple of these and absolutely love them. I was even more impressed when I found out they were made in /by Germany. ( don't remember exactly which it is). Got to admit the Germans make good stuff.
weeeeeelll behringer is a german company, but their stuff is all manufactured in China. otherwise their prices wouldn't be realistic ;)
rndr yeah but most of everything is made in China if it's electronics, Korea and Taiwan supply an untold amount of electronic parts to the world also. Personally I don't care where it's made so long as it works.
the only problem is the lack of consistent quality control on their products. The reason you see so many negative reviews on these pedals is because, for every 10 units that are nmanufactured correctly, 3 or 4 are faulty and die out for whatever reason. This doesn't happen with Boss pedals, for example, since every unit is carefully crafted under proper quality standards. Behringer stuff is cheap because it bypasses most of those standards, so you're at risk of receiving a faulty unit.
iphones are made in china too
Designed in germany, made in china.but still badass.
finally a demo from someone who can play guitar
haha thank you :)
Agreed.
Right on
@Gabriel Allan Think you need a new girlfriend, not an app, if you've got to spy on her or some therapy!
Hey Ryan. I love that you use clean guitar and allow the trails to be heard. So many popular demo-ers use overdrive and it colours the sound so much you cant hear the pedals timbre. I will definitely be working my way through your other demo's. Your format is easily the best I have seen, even with high end products. You've got a real skill for this. Good job.
great demo man. amazing depth and expression.
further proof that talent makes any pedal dope.
+B Hud Thank you :)
Pedals make any dope talented!
@robertloader9826 yes, eye of the beholder is def a factor too.
Tell the Beringer folks you just sold one for them. ;o)
Those were some superbly sweet sounds!
I can listen hours and hours this sound. Very very relaxing.
This music makes me think of the music from the video game The Last Of Us (in other words, beautiful).
+casperghosty Thank you :) ill have to turn it into a proper song!
I have this pedal around a 5 years and I have no retreats about it! Awesome pedal for a good price and also a lot of effects and the tone you can get from this is wonderful!
Fran Rivera does it have a volume drop? My behringer multi-effect and reverb pedal do, but i would love to have this
The dotted triplets setting is amazing
I meant to add earlier, Ryan, that it's pleasing to see someone demonstrating how good a PEDAL is and not how good THEY are. That being said, I'm sure you're an excellent musician. I can tell from the vid that you have a 'touch' and 'feel' for it . . . and the pedal is a brilliant piece of kit for the price!
+chenks54 Thanks :) I pretty much just made the demo videos i wanted to see! let me know if there is any pedals you think i should try out :D
I am definitely getting one of these now! Thank you so much for making realistic demos - not just shredding arse to show how awesome of a guitarist you are, but really helpful melodic stuff. Good job!
thanks :) happy to help
Such a relaxing Demo 👍🏼
Awesome Ryan! Loved the reverse effect sound around 3:49. This pedal has a lot to offer. Thanks for the video.
Awesome pedal. I have many delay pedals, but this one is just different. Warmer, wild but not crazy.
Thanks for making these demo videos, they're super helpful! And as a huge added bonus, your playing is soothing and wonderful to listen to. :)
happy to help! I have a bunch of ambient playing videos on my channel if you're interested :) thank you for the comment!
WELL SAID. Lots of us reading, since the "soundtrack" is addictive. BRAVO RYAN LUTTON.
Behringer has some great effects pedals...and most of them will fit your pocket !
Came for the demo, stayed for the music, where can i find your work man? Would love to hear that
There are some in the description
I'm kinda upset I bought an MXR carbon copy analog delay pedal for more than twice the price of this pedal, and this pedal sounds twice as good and has a wider range of different effects.
also check out the memory man
Isaac Flower Electro-Harmonix Canyon Delay And Looper $139
Hey! Great demo! I was wondering, do you think that i should buy the DD400 and this EM600, or just the Echo Machine would be great for me? (Worship Songs) God bless you!
lol Same name, same question. My set is a OS2 (Boss), (UT100 - Behr), GDI21 and i want a Delay, but do you think this echo machine would be better?
its up to you :) i have two delays on my board and i find thats great for ambient sounds.. but as long as you have a reverb pedal you could get by on one delay.. the echo machine is really great delay for the price! also look into the DR400.. I thought that was great for ambient sounds :) hope this helps!
haha the Arthur question! I think a delay is a must have on a board and the echo machine is good for the price! maybe swap out one of the distortions for the echo machine?
Thanks man! Probably i'll get the DR400 or the DD400, and try to create a ambient song using it. Keep doing this great demos! I really like the behringer pedal's, especially if you are carefull with your pedals.
Amazing demo and a top class review sir, a few minutes into the video I decided to purchase it!
Thank you very much!
I don't know how this hardware is sturdy, but the features are lots of fun!!!
Good demo ! Mine had a bad output jack which produced some hiss. Fixed it. A "stock" Behringer EM600 sounds better than a "stock" Roland DD-6.
great sound and tone , yup i been looking at this pedal , a must buy ..
Albert Arvizu g
I think that the sound of the Boss DD7 is clearer, more pristine, unless RUclips is eating out all of the high frequencies. I`m sitting on the fence between the Echo Machine and the DD7. This one is definitely more versatile... but I believe that the sound quality in the Boss DD7 is superior... any thoughts on that?
honestly I would agree with you about the Boss sounding superior.. I haven't played one but I've watched a lot of demos and I've looking at getting one in to demo myself.. however when my friend let me borrow the Echo Machine to demo I was shocked at how great it sounded! and I own the Echo Park! so its a pretty great clone :)
im really diggin this pedal, youve used it beautifully in this vid
Miquitzli thank you :)
Love the review, great demonstration and mesmerizing tunes!
+hulqen thank you!
Лучшие космические обзоры. Просто берешь педаль без оглядки на ее цену и делаешь музыку. И все звучит волшебно!
Очень понравилась педаль. У меня из этой серии есть реверб - Reverb Machine RV600. Очень хороший девайс!
oh yes.THIS IS review.dude you are the reason i ordered this pedal.i think it will work perfect with Boss RV6 reverb pedal.keep up the awesome job.
thanks! hope you enjoy the pedal :D
trellos do you have the rv6 yet? I'm buying it as well
i have it but i didn't try it yet cause it has a uk power supply and i need a european(i bought it in london but i will try it in greece),so i will buy an adaptor.but i think it is a very good pedal-at least that i understood from every video that i saw on internet about that pedal.i will try it on tuesday(i will be at home for my holidays)so i will let you know!
trellos thank you!
hi andy!sorry for the late reply.you know this guy-ryan lutton-is fucking awesome.i bought this pedal with boss rv6 because of him and the final sound is.....magic.if you like to play ambient/atmospheric i think it's perfect!
Would you recommend combining this with the VD they make for stacked delays?
Sure! This is my favourite delay Behringer make :)
i just bought a vd400. I was wondering which one you prefer the most between the em600 and the vd 400? What is the difference im a guitar noob. also why do you have two cables running through the 600? If i bought this one will i have to buy a special cable?
the em600 is stereo.. which means you can run two outputs and the delay changes between outputs :) the most popular stereo delay is ping pong delay :) the em600 has a lot more options for delay types and sounds where as the vd400 is like a standalone delay sound :) no special cables for either.. youd just need one extra cable if you wanted to use the em600 in stereo
Behringer EM600, DR400 or RV600? Which one should I pick? Jesus, the doubt is killing me! haha
Nice vídeo, btw. Watched all 3 videos from the pedals listed above and you've made a fantastic job!
Thank you :).. the pedals I enjoyed most out of those were the EM600 and the DR400.. but I think the EM600 is the best behringer pedal for the money :D
Does this have a reverb control I can’t see on it or is that just from the delay
Excellent demos.Just subscribed.
one of the first i bought, very rare you see one now, just like my rm600 rotary machine that sits alongside it, great stuff as usual Ryan. Thanks
I love the 600 pedals from behringer haven't tried one i didnt like :) thanks howard!
Finally, someone made a good demo video. I'd rather the annotations than someone quacking on about this and that or "unboxing" and boring the viewer to the point that they wished they didn't click on the link. And luckily it isn't distorted camera mic.
Which do you like better, Echo Machine or Nux Time core? I need tap delay functionality.
both have tap tempo :) but out of the two id personally chose the Echo Machine :)
Great demo man. Thank you. Definitely gonna grab one of these.
+Jonny Miller thanks! let me know how you find it! :D
Awesome, this has convinced me to get this pedal. Lovely tone from that guitar too
+Ryan Vickery glad to hear it! its one of my favourites from the behringer range! thanks for the comment! hope you enjoy the pedal :)
Yeah, the time I watched his Behringer RV 600 video, I thought it was great, but Ryan cost me fifty bucks!
Pablo Griswold whoops.. did you not like the RV600?
+Ryan Lutton It was fantastic-you made me get it! ;)
Pablo Griswold haha! Good good.. Sorry for making you spend 50 bucks ;D Ryan Vickery do you guys have any pedal suggestions? :)
2 days ago I finally get a used Reverb Machine from a guy that was selling it along with a Echo Machine, unfortunately I dont had enough money to buy both pedals, Then I'll try my luck to the next week and try buy the EM600 if nobody buy it first. Since those pedals were discontinued, they are very hard to find and the few available fly from the sellers hands
Thank you for this perfect demonstration!
Ryan, you play so calm the guitar....nice sound, by the way...
Fantastic review *-* Love it !!!
Hi, just wondering. When you get this pedal, does it come with the power cords or no. I read the review that echo park is a pain in the ass if you use battery. Great demo btw! Liked and Subscribed!
+Mangatas Tondang hi! i actually do not own this pedal i had it here for 2 weeks so i'm not sure... i don't think they come with power but you can power them off a 9v battery if you need :) the echo park can be a pain with a battery and with power cable.. but i never had a problem with the echo machine :) you should be able to find a power cable on any music store website! thank you very much for watching :)
I checked on amazon and the cable is quite cheap so I will use power cable instead of the 9v batteries. Thanks for the videos and the reply, really helpful!
Mangatas Tondang that is the better option :) no worries! thanks for the comment :D
Update: bought one, love it!
is it only missing the tap tempo from the echo park?
best sound 7:48 !!
Amazing demo, with a amazing playing!
I know this is an older demo, but you always seem to demo pedals I'm interested in. Trying to decide between this, L6 Echo Park, & Digitech Digidelay...the Digidelay is in desperate need of a proper YT demo like this.
Most are deleted or unavailable
I've played some Behringer pedals, they ain't bad, perfect for live situations, but not so for recordings, but hey why not if you don't expect a lot from them.
you just sold me on this pedal! thanks
hahahaha!same as me dude!
Which amp did you use in these reviews?
Nice! Love the Slowdive vibes. I'm looking for something I can swap between a guitar and some synthesizers. Does anybody have any experience using this with synths?
I have the line 6 echo park which is what this pedal is cloned from. It makes my synths come to life beautifully.
Terrific, super relax, thank you
@ryanlutton i would love to see a demo of the zoom ms70cdr. one for chorus, one for delays, and one for reverbs
I'll try get my hands on one :D
One of my favorite toys.
+Nasher188 is a great little box :)
+Ryan Lutton ok , i just got this thing for christmas and its great. Question i know
the 2 outputs is for stereo and you can hook that up to 2 amps but how
about the 2 inputs what is that for? is it to hook up to another stereo
pedal? and last question if i plug in just my guitar to the pedal will
it come out in stereo if I use the two amps just like this demo is
doing? thanks for the help
+TheTruthseeker707 the two inputs are to connect a stereo input :) so either another stereo pedal.. like a chorus or maybe another delay.. or maybe even the stereo output of a keyboard or synth :) and yes even if you have a mono input (just guitar) you will get a stereo output if you have A and B going to amps :)
Ryan Lutton
Thank you my man. Just for that you deserve a new sub.
+TheTruthseeker707 no worries :) thanks for subbing!
Great sound bro!
thanks :)
Hey Ryan, really dig your demos, keep them coming :) This seems like a really good delay pedal for the price. First I was leaning more towards the Nux Time Force, but after a closer listen, the quality of the delays seem quite a bit better in the EM600. The few things that could weigh in favor of the Time Force are the LCD screen and that it probably has more subdivision options, and the built-in looper? Anyway, if I'll get a delay pedal anytime soon, there's a good chance it will be the EM600.
Oh and I subbed to your channel, curious what you're gonna demo next :) I know there's a ton of delay/reverb pedals out there, but any chance you'll demo the Mr. Black Eterna Gold sometime? I'm a sucker for shimmer :D
Thanksfor the sub! :) I really enjoyed this pedal.. I use the Line 6 Echo Park on my board! The EM600 is a clone of that.. when you factor in that you can have any of these 11 delay modes in either Tape, Digital or Analog the pedal becomes really versatile! more so than the Time Force in my opinion.. though having a looper is always nice! I'll add the Mr. Black Eterna Gold to my list :D Thank you!
Nice pedal! very relaxed and meditation sound^^
So what's the difference between this one and digital delay?
EM600 or Joyo D Seed.
Which one is better?
Hey Ryan, thanks for the inspiring demo! Would it be possible to plug 2 mono instruments into this and then use a single output? Thanks in advance!
+Keenan Hallas thanks for watching! ill be honest im not too sure haha! ive never thought about that.. i cant imagine it being great for the pedal.. have you researched this online? if its for a live situation id recommend using 2 pedals
+Ryan Lutton Thanks for the quick response! I know certain pedals let you use each input for an independent instrument, such as the Ditto Looper X4, but that product page lists the inputs as "independent mono". However, the EHX 720 Stereo Looper also has this feature but just lists them as regular stereo inputs. So in short, I have no idea what to expect. I guess I'll just go out on a limb and buy the EM600, it'll be cool regardless! Keep up the awesome music btw, it's great for chilling out!
+Keenan Hallas no worries :) ah yeah of course! ive heard of multi inputs for loop machines i think my loop machine actually has this aswell :) maybe it will be fine! try messaging behringer? they have a support page on their website.. they would know best :)
+Ryan Lutton Sorry Ryan, one more question. What chords/scales do you generally use to make ambient stuff like this?
Keenan Hallas no problem :) im usually using different variations on Em, D and C
E:-X--X----X--X--X-- X-
B:-8--12-10---7--5--7-8-8-
G:-X--X-----X--X--X-- X-
D:-9--12--- 7--5--7-- 9-
A:-7--10 ---5--3--5-- 7-
E:-X-- X--- X--X--X-- X-
thats a few chords from my Behringer DR600 demo :) i probably use them somewhere in this video also
Does anyone know where to get one of these at a reasonable price? Ive been seeing them go for $150+ USED, that is, when i actually find one for sale at all. I also want the Flanger Machine really bad, but it has an exorbitant used price as well. Anyone know??? PS I'm thinking this coupled with the Flanger Machine would make some pretty lush "MBV 'Loveless' on a budget" sounds.
Which is better: echo machine one or the reverb machine one?
Excellent demo brotha..
I just found out they don't make these any more. I need one!
they are great fun! one of the best behringer pedals :)
Available used but they're going for $100-$130 range
echo machine is cloning line6 echo park?
I think I have to try them, they sound very good I have to say
This is a awesome pedal and very affordable.
Why can I no longer find this pedal anywhere?
Anyone know why they stopped making this pedal or if they will start remaking it again? Been waiting to buy this bad Larry and now it seems its gonna be like $300 for it used when they were like 40 bucks new.
I didn't realise they were so hard to come by these days! If you can't find one thats cheap my advice would be to look for the Line 6 Echo Park.. the Echo Machine is a clone of that pedal :)
Ryan Lutton unfortunately those are also hard to come by. This is the downside to rewatching a pedal demo over a bunch of times, haha. I really like the way the em sounds. Speaking of which, great video by the way. This style of review is way better than the talk your ear off way.
I'm waiting for a used one I ordered tonight from Guitar Centers' used gear search. $49 plus tx and shipping!. I thought I'd wasted my time wanting a cheap one.
How does this compare with their DD600?
Excelente pedal 👍
Nice detailed demo Ryan! Ryan Lutton
Nathan Shafer thanks man :)
Which pedal would you recommend more: this one or the Nux TimeCore? Great demos btw :)
+Sebastián Fernández nothing against the NUX TimeCore but I'd personally recommend this one :) it has a lot more functions.. it is one of my favourite Behringer pedals! Thank you!
I didn't like the diffetent delay models on the Time Core frome the demos I seen. The models didn't sound different enough, and some just sounded artificial.
The Nux Time Force, however, is a better alternative to consider. It has different options than the EM600, some of them very useful - a separate tap tempo button, a looper, two more stereo models, more note length options to use with tap tempo, metal housing and a color LCD display. It's easier to use live, because the switches and knobs are much better and it has presets.
The tradeoff is that it is somewhat larger (still not huge), heavier and costs around $15 more. It doesn't have a sweep filter and the sounds are generally less diverse then on the EM600, so it comes down to taste. It's worth a look. The Donner Black Arts is the same pedal, only rebranded.
Mentioned and asked before but not answered : your playing is really nice you have your music somewhere online?
apologies! thank you :) yes i do! bits of music here and there but mostly older stuff.. Im hoping to record more soon www.soundcloud.com/ryanlutton hope you enjoy!
sounds like moonlit sailor, is a SOLD for me!
wonder if the xx use this
Great review 👍
thank you :)
great review great sound great feel
thank you :)
what the difference between the vs400 and em600??
so ambient ....what tune are playing buddy?
+The ElectricHobo thanks :) im just noodling around tbh! wasnt playing anything in particular :) similar stuff to this will be on my next album :)
Sound Great For post rock
09.24 I just tripped out completely
hi i cant find in uk ebay guys where can i get one??help
what does the TRAILS switch do?
the trails switch prevents the effect from instantly ending when you bypass the pedal :)
sounds great mate:)
Very familiar looking pedal ;P
This pedal it’s completely discontinued, right?
Sadly yes, youll have to keep an eye out on second websites if you want one
@@RyanLutton that blows. Such a nice sounding, super versatile pedal.
Where is Out-B going?
good sounding pedal, alas both my Beringers died after unplugging them and replacing to my power supply
+GeekLegion it is :) ah that is a shame.. was the power supply running different voltages?
Echo is a long Delay. Delay pedals do this. Don't need a separate delay pedal called 'echo'.
Nice playing.
+Loopcyclemusic thank you :)
does it have 8th notes options?
it can do quarter notes, 8th note triplets and dotted 8th notes :)
I Got It!!!! Amazing!
What's the yellow marked cable?
thats the stereo output :)
+Ryan Lutton thanks!
where do u connect it to?do u have a dual channel amp?
im planning to order this.
what do u think, do i need the reverb machine next to this?
+Ryan Lutton thanks man. really thanks! so far i had EHX pedals, but now i saw that cheap ones can be awesome too. i'm going to play shoegaze things, and i need some pedals like these. i just wanted to know if they work well together :)
u have any more tips about pedals for shoegazing?
+Ryan Lutton want to make a DIIV-like music, if that helps
they do work well together :) honestly I'd recommend a good reverb pedal do get that "dreamlike" sound.. a lot of the cheaper reverb pedals are actually pretty good :) El Nano holy grail.. Biyang Tri Reverb.. the Boss RV-5 is good and probably pretty cheap if you buy used!
Wish I could see what chords you’re playing!
Only had one camera at this point and I thought it better to show the controls of the pedal, that's a theme in my demos.. but I will be adding video of the fret board to my future demos soon though! Thanks for the comment Ben :)
Does anyone know the max delay time on this pedal?
Whilst this is a great sounding pedal for the price, you do get what you pay for. Looking in the battery compartment I noticed that instead of a proper stomp-box footswitch there's a piece of hard rubber that presses against a very flimsy micro-switch when the pedal is engaged. On finding this I figured I'm going to have to be very gentle when operating the footswitch in order not to damage it! Btw, had to go online to find out how to access the battery compartment. There was no explanation that came with the unit.
+chenks54 I have the line 6 echo park which is what the echo machine is based on.. and i have to admit the build is is the only drastic change.. they sound very similar! but the line 6 is built like a tank! but is a lot more pricey.. so behringer has its pros and cons :D
+Ryan Lutton Yeah, I figured that would be the case. However, firstly I'm not a pro musician, just a guy who jams with a few mates now and again, and secondly, I got the Behringer for a bargain £30 brand new. so if it packs up in a year or so I won't be that bothered. I reckon the first thing to go will be the micro-switch so I'll just wire in another one. I may even go so far as to re-house the electrics in a better enclosure.
+chenks54 sounds like you made the right choice :) I considered buying the echo machine and changing the housing :) seems like a fun thing to do and would make a much better pedal.. but i ending up buying the line 6 echo park for youtube and ive just stuck with that :)
This pedal was $50? That is crazy
If this is anything like the tremolo pedal, don't waste your money I ended up buying a Marshal tremolo' tho Marshals Echohead is
an absolute pain to set up right I found the 'Space echo' tho rather
expensive at £205 is brilliant, easy to set up & one set of alkaline batteries lasts months
This will destroy you! amazing demo!
