I was immensely bummed out when I connected my bluetooth keyboard to my brand new Quest 3, and had to realize that it supports four - count them: FOUR - keyboard layouts. The choices are: English (US), English (US) Colemak, English (US) Dvorak and English (US) Workman style. Thanks for that from Germany... And no way to add new layouts (as far as I can find). You can sideload something but that only affect Apps, not the builtin Quest UI. As far as I can tell. Maybe I should actually try setting that up before I complain, but this is making me feel so disregarded by Meta. Not that I can actually use a keyboard with passthrough being what it is. Time to learn touch-typing, by the time I can do that maybe they'll have added customizable layouts...
I gotta respect your Vision Pro coverage, knowing that you're not an Apple guy. I for one am planning to save up for one in the next year or so as an upgrade to my Quest 2 and I really appreciate keeping up to date with all the news.
❤ I just got a Quest 3 (my first VR headset) while I save up for the next gen of AVP or a competing headset. Super pumped for the AVP and wanted to explore VR for a while before I go all in on the AVP.
Do note that the Quest and the AVP are targeting completely different audiences, if you're mostly into gaming, then you're better off sticking to the Quest.

Unfortunately, despite rearranging my bedroom, I no longer have space for VR (I’m in college and live with my parents so that complicates things.) Nowadays, 99% of what I use VR for is general entertainment and working, which just so happens to be what the Vision Pro excels at. I tried a demo about a week ago and it blew my mind. Having worked in VR with the Quest before, it’s a whole different beast and I have a lot of very specific use cases where it would radically increase my working speed. I’m still planning to keep my Quest 2 and maybe upgrade to a 3 someday for the express purpose of gaming.
When I toggle 120Fps on my pc I get quite some bad frame pacing on more demanding games that resolves into stutters in hand movement. When i cap it at 90 everything is buttery smooth
Nvidia shadowplay could be the reason for that, specifically the instant replay, as it takes a lot of encoding ability from your gpu Could also be your router being too slow, 150mbps at 120hz is actually more like 200mbps, the 150mbps is the bitrate for 90hz. Atleast thats what i think is happening from my experience
Why would they make a cheaper version? I feel the quest 3 is already lite if you see what it can do. Sure it’s better than the 2 but it’s still ok at best
If this is legit, I was hoping Meta would go for an up-scale, something like Q3Pro. I may go for the 3S for my kids, but I was hoping to get an upgraded Quest and give the kids the old Quest 3 as a hand-me-down.

Play skyrimvr modded on anything apart from 4080 and above and you'll love 72fps lol. As someone who felt sick playing vr the first time, just stay in vr for 8 hours straight and after 2 weeks feeling sick you'll be able to play vr forever without feeling sick. I did this lol

They said it's going to be October I'm supposing that it's October 24th 2024. That is the metaquest 3s I think the medical quest 3, letter s, it's to say that it's slightly the middle quest 3. But it's supposed to be at a starting range of 199 and then it goes up depending upon the storage which the maximum storage is 256. So I am did a little research that's how I found it. So yes that will be coming I'm hoping for it is word document and some other stuff.
I just don't see the point of the 3s. Sure it's going to be cheaper but still not exactly cheap. So who's the market for this? I think it's just going to generate confusion in the marketplace. On another note I've noticed the app for the insta 360 EVO has been removed from the playstore. An old camera but still very capable and now the only way to use it is to download the APK from the webpage directly.
Re: the feedback on the quest 3s, I dont think its feedback on the headset at all but feedback on the marketing material. Thats why its a lot of pictures together of similar things/versions.

Yh 120hz feels weird on the quest 3 pcvr. I just kept mine on 90hz and max resolution and it works brilliantly
90hz is more than enough anyway personally, feels smooth enough.
