I’m betting if they do you’ll find they do their own earbuds that work solely with the quest or something with 0 latency. Any opportunity to make money.
i have my quest 2 since it came out and never used it and i plan on getting the quest3s so it doesnt bother me and i dont really get why u would use headphones anyway
If you can find some 2.4Ghz wireless rather than Bluetooth, the latency is minimal, trouble is, there aren't many options, and you will have to use the included USB dongle, so at that point may as well use wired USB. Would be great if they implemented 2.4Ghz wireless into the headsets in the future and sold some decent audio options to connect to it.
HTC are really not hitting the mark. The vive was such a popular headset, so whats going wrong. I also think with Meta heavily subsidising headsets it makes all the competition seem over priced. Not many companies can afford to loose $50 billion like meta have on VR. Let's hope they don't remove headphone jack on Quest 4.
I just bought my Quest 3 and the Pro controllers, I love the Pro controllers they do take a minute to get recognized by the Quest 3 but they are fantastic, I never lose tracking due to occlusion and I absolutely love their weight. The Pro controllers feel very premium and sturdy.
How are they compared to the Touch plus controllers that come with the Quest 3 though? I am by no means an expert, but when i try to play beat saber songs on expert on quest 3, i always miss notes that I KNOW I didn't actually miss and it drives me nuts.
@@WhiteRaven___ For tracking they're unmatched, even when going behind my back with the controller or to close to the face or right next to each other they never lose tracking. The pack in controllers are good but not even close to the premium feel and handling of the pro controllers.

Battery is in the back on the new Vive, but it will require taking off to change as it's inside the band. Fresnel lenses are a let down at that price, and largely negates the resolution bump and advantage of the display port connection. Weird combination of old gen with the XR2 and fresnel lenses, although they've upped the RAM to 12GB of DDR5. At lest the combination of standalone and a display port option, auto IPD adjustment, stereo colour passthrough and eye tracking are there to offer something different. Doesn't seem enough to be competitive at that price point though.
Quest 3S sounds like it's a dud. DOA. They tried to split Quest 2 and Quest 3 sales and ended up releasing something far subpar compared to the Q3 and just barely up to par with the Quest 2.
Htc's new headset was definitely a bit confusing to me as well. It's too bad because they could've made something along the lines of the Quest 3 and it probably would have been amazing. Also it's time that they make the pancake lenses standard on everything.
i love my quest 3 but it will be interesting to see how the 3s does, that price point is very enticing. Most people think fresnel are good enough, and they are! Its really us enthusiasts who care about the improved optics with edge to edge clarity. Your grandma / cousin down the street will put it on and be mesmerized regardless of that. I hope this brings a boon of standalone games to this gen, its about time we really get started
I think there are some definite concessions on the Vive Focus Vision, but that native eye tracking is kind of a big one if it plays well with foveated rendering. If the lenses are done well, with that high of a res and the DP USB port option, things could be looking pretty damn good, with a good GPU. I'd be down for demo, but I think that's it, most people are gonna be skeptical and hesitate pulling the trigger, without ever trying it. There are just too many questions. I'm curious, though.
I guess you could call HTC, the "I don't get it" VR company with the products they put out. What do you think Steve. That was a great news roundup as there was a lot to talk about and only so much time. Thanks for sharing the news, and honestly, with the price of the Meta Quest 3s, it's the perfect headset for people just starting out in VR. I think for more seasoned veterans, the Quest 3 is the best VR headset as far as what you get for the money you pay. For the enterprise business or the VR enthusiasts, I guess you have the Apple Vision Pro and not sure what else fits that demographic, maybe one of the Pimax headsets like The Crystal. I don't pay much attention to that as I don't fit that demographic, so I don't know about some of the high end VR headsets that are any good. Anyway, Steve, you are the man when it comes to VR news and gameplay when you post it. Take care 😊❤

I've preordered the Vive Focus Vision (preorder till mid October includes streaming cable and Display Port adapter, plus a few games). If vive can bring software that utilizes eye tracking for pc I’d say it’s worth it. Eye tracking w proper controls has not been sorted out yet.
