I think the Q3S was a great move from Meta. I was only putting my Q2 on maybe once a month anymore for the past year or so. It put me in a position where I wasn't using VR enough to justify the Q3 cost. Even at $499, it's still a bit much. I got the Q3S as a very early Xmas present and added the mid-tier BoBo strap (The one without the fan, just a battery) and now I don't want to take it off. The mixed AR is amazing. Sure it's not 1/1 with real vision, but coming from the Q2, it's not just a game changer, but a life changer. I spent 3 hour last night just trolling around the internet, just like any other night, but I was using Virtual DT in passthrough mode. I still had about 30 min of battery left as well. (That is with 2 batteries connected and only surfing RUclips and such.) I have to be honest, I'm more impressed with the Q3S than I thought I'd be. IDK if it's because I went with a better head strap or what, but it's way more comfy than the Q2 ever was. Thanks for the updates Steve.
The 128 GB quest 3S is selling like hotcakes. I understand some people saying to save up for the OG3 but for a lot of people especially people trying VR for the first time it’s not an issue of having to save for it. They just don’t want to spend that kind of money on something that they don’t know if they’re gonna like it or not.
So now your quest 3s is gonna collect dust. If you didn't play any games on quest 2 why would you now on quest 3s? I think it would be smart to play quest 2 with dust and save yourself 330 euro or 300 dollar. And buy games for quest 2 bahahaha

Something that I've wanted forever now, and it wouldn't be that hard to implement, other than getting all of the cellphone manufacturers onboard. Imagine just having a phone connect option within the headset. You go through a simple setup, maybe download an app on your phone, whatever. Then you just have a phone button within VR anywhere. In game, out of game. It's just part of the UI. You push this button and now you're holding a virtual phone in your hands like it was an in game object. Your phone screen is projected to this virtual device, so it's like you just have "your" phone in VR. Literally ALL of the functionality of your phone would be ported into this. You could simply use your finger to touch the virtual phone screen to open apps, make calls, whatever. Hold the virtual phone up to your ear and you can hear the phone call. This isn't that hard to implement. It would just take effort to get it up and running with all the different phones out there.
Super wide display and fov become incredibly easy to handle with Eye-tracking because everywhere you aren't looking just drops to super low resolution. Foveated eye tracked rendering is the future because you can more than double the performance if it's done right. The new headsets need - Thin, Pancake Lenses, Eye tracking, ultrawide Fov, etc. But I think the real future is where you have a dedicated console that streams to the headset. This gives the headset way less weight, far more battery life cause you're just doing screen/wifi almost no processing. Meta needs to partner with Xbox, and kick VR 15 years into the future.
Is there any word as to whether Behemoth is gonna be crossbuy on oculus? Also, is the rift version going to be released the same day or is it gonna be delayed like other titles have been? If its crossbuy I'll buy on oculus for sure to have mobile version too but if its not then steam it is.

That is 100% bs, sorry bud. Taking off a light shield doesn't give you >50 degrees more FOV. That's what you just said. You gained maybe 1-3 degrees. Chill on the hyperbole.
Perhaps I am stating the percentage wrong. I notice about an extra 1.5” view on each side of my face when I remove the face shield. It almost eliminates the goggle effect. Have you tried doing this?
@@thenovelhoarder4180 You're definitely increasing the amount of the display that's visible to your eyes (FOV), but you're not actually increasing the FOV of your headset above the number offered by Meta. That number doesn't change and is a function of the display hardware and what they're rendering on the display.
That was a good video, I appreciate your candor. If something doesn't look good, you say so instead of spouting the corporate drivel given to you by the company. good day!
thank you very much and i appreciate your continued support
Anyone else have trouble getting Gracia to work? I launch it in Steam VR and it never loads.
Steve Random question, do you know the uk price of batman ?
I think about £39
@@SteveKnows Legend cheers 👍🏻
Gracia has been available on quest for a while.
Love your Vid's , but was this in it? I must have missed it.. "Amazing New Feature Coming to Quest, Meta High FOV Headset,"
at this point i dont care about FOV, resolution or speed.I just wish we had lighter vr headsets. I want a more affordable version of the big screen beyond, with ipd adjustment, and inside out tracking. I dont care if its lcd. the vive xr elite was close, but too expensive and bad headstrap out of the box. I think external battery and proccessor pack is the way to go, to really get weight down for stand alone
Quest 3s is sold out everywhere where I live 😭😭😭😭
Come to germany. Here There Are More than enough in Reallife stores 😅
Ive baught mine friday and There Where 50 More 😅
Test
Hello Steve, just subscribed ! I want to get into a r and buy a Mataquest Pro 3. Do you need a meta premium subscription to use it? I am interested in gaming on steam/ uplay and all gaming platforms mostly and at the productivity tools. I just do not want to pay any subscription
Thanks
there is no subscription required to use VR currently :) and welcome to the channel!
I bought the Quest 3, I have motion sickness 😢
Cyberpunk demo was also better than released version.
Splatting. Splatting, Steve.
Contact lenses...
The connect thing might be handy becasue I CANNOT for the life of get my Moto G14 phone to connect to my Quest 3 properly. I cannot get it to stream to my phone. Tried everything but it just wont happen. Shows me all the deets and I can download stuff from the app and have it install on my headset but I can't get it to stream. I have to pull out an old Samsung to get content to stream.
Yes i have moto it's the most Android of phones
Hello Moto😏
hahah yaaasss :P
Starship troopers looks like shit.
SteveNose lol
i thought at this point lets lean into it :)
first! vr baby
nailed it gold medal :)
thats right put your trust in Motorola, a compay that will blow up your headset for wrong think
Who can really afford a gpu to drive pcvr games? A quest 3s headset costs as much as a low end gpu.
such a shame that we don't have a real exciting metaverse with user created content and user generated economy . i don't care about games . i want alternate realities to experience with likeminded people . i'm so sick and tired of vr scene where they oonly try to sell their games ... and no ... the corporate crap meta worlds horizon is not itand neither the rest of crappy vr platforms that exist right now .
VR wave sucks!! don't buy into them and don't push them! The frames are so cheaply produced, if you ever clean the lenses they'll break!
Behemoth looks boring. Blane slow sub par VR "game"
hit that like and sub lets go !!!!!!!!! stop chin wagon lol
