    Good breakdown of those essential chord progressions and some of the Gospel secrets. Very useful for someone like me who comes from jazz but was always fascinated by that Gospel sound, but never knew what made it sound so great. Excellent job, Corey - and thanks very much.

    I'm a jazz guitarist learning the piano. Your videos have helped me so much in making my piano playing sound more soulful and interesting. Piano aside, your content is a wonderful source of versatile gospel language. I've been transcribing what I can from your piano lessons on the guitar as well, and love the way it sounds. I don't know that I've ever found a channel with as much practical (and straight to the point!) material as yours. Your effort is greatly appreciated.

    Actually et 0'.51" the voicing Ddim/F (F-D / Ab-D-F) is what really hit me. Same idea as the IVminor to replace the V, but very nice with this specific voicing in the low part of the piano. Seems more like a F minor 6 than a Ddim/F, don't you think?

    Why 16 minutes for 3 chord-progressions? Even if you lingered over each chord for a couple of seconds, that shouldn't have taken you more than about a minute.

    • @SkilledMusician
      @SkilledMusician  Год назад +2

      The main reason is giving the “why” of the progressions, not just sharing the “what”. When you understand the “why” you can create your own. Some musicians are able to understand the progressions just by seeing them played once or twice. But most musicians need a bit more to understand, so I teach the progression, not just show it….
