I counted in increments of 13 sc + 1 at the end for turning ch. Using the "H" (5mm) hook 13 stitches equals 2". So a 24" blanket should require 156 stitches + 1. Hopefully that will help; I'm still experimenting.
Sorry, but your video was difficult to follow. The camera angle cut off some of the work and the closed captions were missing on what I consider an important part for someone who is just learning this stitch
Why is every video I've seen, its done in single crochet? Can't it be made in double crochets & a treble crochet for the long stitches? That way it wouldn't be so stiff & tight.
Really love the look of this pattern. Not happy with the video, fir me watching the video and learning to do this pattern the music was annoying and inferred with my concentration. I stopped watching, sorry.
Love the stitch. They look beautiful. Easy to co by following your video.

If I want to do a baby blanket do I just add 50 more until I get the length I want?
do the chains according to the length

Can you please tell me how I would add a border (to square off the edges) on this pattern? Great video b.t.w ❣️

You could just turn the volume down. That's what I did. She isn't saying anything so it's not like you need to hear it
