HOW to CROCHET JACOB'S LADDER Stitch - Chain Loop Braids by Naztazia

- You can learn how to Crochet the Jacob's Ladder Stitch in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. I'll show you how to crochet the Jacob's Ladder stitch. I do this stitch a little bit different than the traditional way. This stitch produces neat chain loops that look like braids. It adds a nice braided texture to any work. To do this stitch pattern, you just need to know how to make a chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. I'm using worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm hook for this particular sample, but you can use whatever you wish.

Are you lefthanded to write? Because I find the way you move the needle similar to the way I do. And everybody say that is because I use left hand for writing.
@@virginiaguaraglia6773 Thanks for asking! I am ambidextrous. I can use both hands equally to do just about anything.

I love your straight forward approach. As a middle to high level crocheter, I usually don't need a lot of explanation. Your tutorials suit me very well. Thank you so much for all you do! Lisa
Oh wow! I had totally forgotten about this stitch! I made a baby set for my daughter using this stitch..........way back in '75, lol. I'm going to try this again. Thank you for the memories. ♥️👍♥️
❤
Just watched several jacob's ladder videos. How do you make things look so much easier than everyone else. You are a gift. Thanks again.
It is the difference between someone who is knowledgable and knows how to teach and someone who is knowledgable but does not know how to properly teach others. It is a skill. I had many professors in college who were clearly very incredible knowledgable in their feild, but clearly didnt know how to teach that knowledge effectively. Id always have to reread every chapter because they would often just confuse me more by making things harder than they needed to be by over or under explaining.
Ikr?
This jacob's ladder stitch is so gorgeous! I cannot wait to try it. After I practice it a few times I will attempt to make a handbag or clutch purse...thanks so much for your lovely tutorials!
Wonderful!
Donna, after being away from crocheting for many years. I opted for Tunisian, your video on that was stellar! Just caught this vid this morning over cofee. Absolutely SO easy, beautiful, eyecatching simple texture! Next project! Thank you so MUCH!
Thank you for the clear instructions. I love how you get straight to the point without unnecessary chatter.
Thank you!
Me too! I get so annoyed with all the extra chatter. This video is great!
This works up to be a beautiful blanket. Your instructions were easy to follow. I love the finished product!!
Happy the video could help!
I have been searching everywhere for a you tube video on how to learn the cross stitch crochet pattern I seen it being done about 30 years ago I never was able to watch the step by step instructions I'm a visual learner if I see something done once I have it in my memory like your shell stitch I watched you make it once last year and I still know how to make it .... will you please show how to make the cross crochet stitch please .... thank you Dori from Michigan
Where in MI are you?
This is such a lovely, eye-catching stitch, and it's not nearly as scary to do as it looks with your helpful instruction! Thank you!
Hi Donna. I have been looking for the perfect pattern to make an afgan throw for my 82 year old mother, who gets cold very easy. I think she will love the Jacob's Ladder and I have the perfect, soft, yarn to make it with. It's going to be awesome to give it to her when I'm finished with it.
I love to watch your videos. You have the most awesome patterns. And your instructions are so easy to follow. Thanks for posting.
I've been crocheting for over 40 years, and I've never came across such beautiful patterns as I have watching RUclips.
I'VE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS AMAZING "JACOB'S LADDER STITCH" EITHER. IT IS DEFINITELY MY NEW FAVORITE STITCH & PATTERN! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 💙😊!!!

LINDO!!! Amo seus trabalhos! 💖
I'm doing a stitch sampler blanket and was searching for a stitch to make up the amount of tiles which didn't eat up too much yarn, but had texture. This is perfect!
Thank you so much for such a simple yet succinct tutorial. It's lovely.
Thank you, Naztazia. Such a lovely pattern. I am going to do this as part of my afghan I am making. Actually, its such a lovely pattern to use for a lot of things.

I'm getting back into crochet after almost 20 years. My mom taught me a but as a child but I never got far. She told me about the Jacobs latter pattern and this was the 1st video I found. Your instructions were so simple and easy to follow that this will likely be the 1st patter I use to make my 1st afghan. Thank you so much for this video! You are a big help to me as I relearn this craft.
Tired of granny square afgans so I need different patterns
Que lindo! Vou tentar fazer. Parabéns!!
Guys!!!!!! I am doing it!!!! It's coming along beautifully!!! Thank you, Naztazia for always being so clear and concise, while throwing in pointers. I wish I could post a photo of my progress! I'm so excited. Thanks again!!!

Thank you for your easy to follow instructions. I just completed my second lapghan using this stitch. I get tons of compliments on both of them.
I really love your tutorials. They make the most difficult stitches easy to accomplish. Thank you for the time, effort, and expertise you share.
Thanks very much! 🥰
I just can't understand who are the people who disliked this video. This is such a beautiful pattern😍
Thank you so much 😀
I have just discovered this video and thought exactly the same when I looked at how many people dared to dislike it! The stitch is beautiful, the colours are beautiful and this lady's tutorials are just amazing❣️
Colour combination is awsome... its sooooooooo pretty 🌷⚘👍🤩😘🌹🌷⚘
I am so going to make a scarf with this stitch! Thank you!
The tutorials are so beneficial to me. Reading patterns confuse me probably more than I want to admit. I really appreciate you for sharing this craft. One grateful crocheter. Thank you.

*I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL "JACOB'S LADDER STITCH" DONNA 💝!* THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AWESOME TUTORIAL 😊💝!!!
Hello and thanks for teaching us the Jacob's Ladder stitch. I would like to crochet a headband using it. Maybe it seems too simple to some, but to me, it is a little complicated. That is, I must be sure of what I do. I also need to know more about how to hide my different colors better. My yarn is somewhat thicker than yours, an acrylic, and I use a 3.5 mm (00) hook. The headband I want consits of a similar amount of three different colors. I might also use a smaller amount of a fourth color, but if the headband becomes too wide, I prefer to add a flower instead of one or more rows. By the way, your sample looks like a bag and I want to try one, but I prefer you to teach how to make it. You are a great teacher. Thank you for explaining so well.
Thank you Donna for slowint down n giving clear n precise instructions to someone who is new I cant wait to try the Jacobs ladder Im gonna make a scarf 😀
I love your video tutorials. They are so clear and well done. It's very easy to follow them. Even this kind of old granny, whose first language isn't English, can follow them easily. Thank you 🌹
Thank you so much!
This is genius! I can't wait to try it. Thank you.
I love your work. You're always so clear with your instructions. I'm working on a bobble stitch blanket and i wish I got the instructions from you when I started, the video I watched was a bit confusing mostly because they said they were working a popcorn stitch when it was a bobble. Perhaps you could make a tutorial of the differences between a bobble stitch and popcorn stitch sometime. :) ♡♡
Excelente!!!!
😍😍😍😍
Qué prendas puedo hacer con este punto que me ha gustado tanto??
La combinación de colores es bellísima!!
Te envío cariños desde México 😘 😘

This is the first time I've heard of this stitch, thank you for sharing! Your video is really well done, very clear and easy to follow. The bright colors on a clear background also really help.
I love crochet and I love to learn everything new
Love this!!!! Can’t wait to start my own!! You are a great teacher!!!!🥰❤️❤️❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Thank you
Good morning Donna, thanks for this video, this crochet motif is very nice and practical!!! Good 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 hi Mary !
Love the stitch .my next project I think 🤔
mine too - wondered if Donna ever made this using hdc and maybe a shorter loop? Do you think it would work?
Oh my! My next project !..Thank you.Have a very blessed day !
I love watching your work. Brilliant! I can't do it myself, anymore, because I'm losing my vision, and I can't see the chains on my work. All I can do is work with posts. My current project is a basket weave blanket. I can feel the posts. But I do enjoy your videos.
Maravilhoso lindo parabéns não entendo o que vc fala mas entendo os pontos 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤
Era isso que eu ia falar kkkkk dá pra fazer direitinho!
M

You are the best. I tried crocheting a well know designers pattern and video. I bought all the yarn needed. The teacher made a mistake in the video but continued with the video explaining with her giggles how to fix the mistake! I am very frustrated with her especially after spending a lot of money on yarn and my time. I want to do it right the first time. She should have started the video completely over and not put it out there. It is very non-professional! Donna, I am never disappointed with you. I am doing this blanket and loving it. Thanks!
Wow. Love this. You made it look so easy. Will try this next project. So happy I found you. Beautiful work. I am 80 and crocheting for 70 years. Love this stitch. Thank you. Xx Grandma Rosie
Next blanket is for a new baby boy. His name is Jacob. This is perfect. Ty
What size hook?

Beautiful. I don't think it would be so easy. Loved it
Terrific video. Explicit directions. Thanks for making it look so easy. Can't wait to try it.
Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I'm very glad I found you. Your work is beautiful. Ty for sharing your knowledge I appreciate it.
Lindo demais esse ponto, não falo inglês, mas acho que entendi, tu faz bem devagar e isso facilita pra quem não domina a língua!
This point is beautiful. We are from Brazil and you teach very well! Thank you! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🧶🧶🧶🧶☕🙋🏻♀️
This is a lovely pattern, thank you for sharing it. You have a beautiful voice and a nice manner when teaching. And also, you crochet using your thumb like I do! I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do that (but me, of course). :D
Thank you so much!
That's how I crochet, too! I was thinking the same, I've not saw anyone use their thumb the same way I do!
I'm fixing to start a king size afghan for a friend and she picked this one. I'll get back to you in 43k+ stitches 😂 my grandma taught me this pattern when I was young. I'm excited to do it.
If you dont mind me asking how many stitches did you do for the starting line? My husbands a 6'2 tal lankey man and is begging for a blanket
Love the way you simplify the working method.... Thank you
I can’t wait to have a reason to use this pattern!!
Does anyone really need a reason to crochet, just do a blanket for yourself or as a make ahead gift for someone
This is so perfect loved it😍
So beautiful. I want to use this stitch. Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Just loved the colour combinations. Awesome
Bem lindo esse ponto 💝🙏🙋🏽♀️👍beijo

Love it
Hi, happy morning Mam. I love this stitch. Is it possible to do this in circular way to do a purse in this stitch
I would assume that you could, as long as you are working in multiples of five, it should work just the same as the "flat" version
I REALLY LIKE THE JACOB'S LADDER STITCH CAN YOU MAKE A TUTORIAL FOR A SHAWL WITH THE JACOB'S LADDER STISTCH
Ah, how clever and thanks.....what a efficient presentation. No babbling on and on.....and thanks for that. ((:
