HOW to CROCHET JACOB'S LADDER Stitch - Chain Loop Braids by Naztazia

  • You can learn how to Crochet the Jacob's Ladder Stitch in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. I'll show you how to crochet the Jacob's Ladder stitch. I do this stitch a little bit different than the traditional way. This stitch produces neat chain loops that look like braids. It adds a nice braided texture to any work. To do this stitch pattern, you just need to know how to make a chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. I'm using worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm hook for this particular sample, but you can use whatever you wish.

Are you lefthanded to write? Because I find the way you move the needle similar to the way I do. And everybody say that is because I use left hand for writing.

It is the difference between someone who is knowledgable and knows how to teach and someone who is knowledgable but does not know how to properly teach others. It is a skill. I had many professors in college who were clearly very incredible knowledgable in their feild, but clearly didnt know how to teach that knowledge effectively. Id always have to reread every chapter because they would often just confuse me more by making things harder than they needed to be by over or under explaining.

Hi Donna. I have been looking for the perfect pattern to make an afgan throw for my 82 year old mother, who gets cold very easy. I think she will love the Jacob's Ladder and I have the perfect, soft, yarn to make it with. It's going to be awesome to give it to her when I'm finished with it.
I love to watch your videos. You have the most awesome patterns. And your instructions are so easy to follow. Thanks for posting.
I've been crocheting for over 40 years, and I've never came across such beautiful patterns as I have watching RUclips.

Hello and thanks for teaching us the Jacob's Ladder stitch. I would like to crochet a headband using it. Maybe it seems too simple to some, but to me, it is a little complicated. That is, I must be sure of what I do. I also need to know more about how to hide my different colors better. My yarn is somewhat thicker than yours, an acrylic, and I use a 3.5 mm (00) hook. The headband I want consits of a similar amount of three different colors. I might also use a smaller amount of a fourth color, but if the headband becomes too wide, I prefer to add a flower instead of one or more rows. By the way, your sample looks like a bag and I want to try one, but I prefer you to teach how to make it. You are a great teacher. Thank you for explaining so well.

I'm working on a bobble stitch blanket and i wish I got the instructions from you when I started, the video I watched was a bit confusing mostly because they said they were working a popcorn stitch when it was a bobble. You are the best. I tried crocheting a well know designers pattern and video. I bought all the yarn needed. The teacher made a mistake in the video but continued with the video explaining with her giggles how to fix the mistake! I am very frustrated with her especially after spending a lot of money on yarn and my time. I want to do it right the first time. She should have started the video completely over and not put it out there. It is very non-professional! Donna, I am never disappointed with you. I am doing this blanket and loving it. Thanks!

I'm fixing to start a king size afghan for a friend and she picked this one. I'll get back to you in 43k+ stitches 😂 my grandma taught me this pattern when I was young. I'm excited to do it.

Hi, happy morning Mam. I love this stitch. Is it possible to do this in circular way to do a purse in this stitch

I would assume that you could, as long as you are working in multiples of five, it should work just the same as the "flat" version
