I have some BIG plans for next year, stay tuned💪 Have a great start into 2023🥳Stay healthy, stay positive and then see you next year with lots of new adventures 😊
I'd say not a bad number, Ken; roughty PHP38,000.00/mo for 3 months since you arrived (we're assuming you also included your visa renewal/airport fess, service/purchase tips under "Others," among others btw ü) and having gone through the 3 major islands. (Though that leaves you with so much more places to see and plan for.) If you haven't yet, you could also subscribe to the local airlines' email lists to carch some good promos in 2023. Cebu Pac is famous for its P1 seat sale; hopefully find one yo fit your schedule). Cheers, be safe.
I feel great following you around for the past 3 years. I have learned so much and gained lots of information and knowledge. Besides that, it was also wonderful to "visit" all those off the beaten paths which would be beyond my reach. A big thanks for creating such super amazing videos. Will definitely be tagging along to your next destination and looking forward to your next cool adventures 😀🤓 I wish you a very happy and a prosperous New Year 2023. May all your goals be achieved and all your plans be fulfilled. All the best and good luck, Ken 💪
Overall philippines is one of the cheapest countries for what it can offer, only problem is the visa preocedure for some countries is a bit harsh, tha ks ken
That's a good budget because if you were living at that same standard or lifestyle in Germany or even Canada or the United States, it would be very very expensive. Good and very smart budget Ken. I hope you come back here and that you visit other places you have not seen yet. Cheers Ken. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU. STAY SAFE.
It was quite interesting to see the breakdown of the costs. It is difficult to estimate this, but once you explained, it seemed like good value. You live comfortably, but not with high luxury, and you travel around a lot and eat well. So as you say, it could be done for less, but also for more. Given you always have nice accomodation and handy transport and flights, this $2,000 budget is good value. Good travels for 2023 Ken!
Awesome of you to share with us the amount of expenditure needed to stay in The Philippines. A very useful and infornative vlog..would be a good guide for those who wish to travel there. Thank you very much for producing such good content, Ken.
Ken is obviously reaping the rewards of having 136k subscribers and I congratulate him on that. $38 per night hotels is not representative of the average traveler. To me a hotel is somewhere to rest your head for 8 hours at the cheapest price - then again I don't need a desk and luxuries to spend hours editing vlogs. Keep it up Ken, you are living THE life
Indeed, I stayed in what I consider to be good hotels in Davao and Dumaguete and was paying around 80 quid for 5 nights each at First Pacific and Golden Gate Suites respectively. Good deals can be had.
We just came back from the Philippines (16.Nov. - 14. Dec this year) and spent less about 1200€ for 2 persons, so that makes 600€ / person for 4 weeks.
@Mark 2 weeks we spent together with the family of my wife in a village, which costs almost nothing, the other 2 weeks we travelled all around Cebu (Moalboal: Sardine Run - for free, Tan-Awan (Oslob) Swimming with the Whale Sharks - 500 Pesos, Carcar City - only looking around at the beautiful spnish colonial houses, Cebu City - stop overnight, Bantayan Island - staying in a simple hostel, taking a public ride to Bantayan City from Santa Fe, a few cocktails at the beach, Mactan Island staying in OYO next to Olango Pier for making a trip to Olango Island. That's it, more or less. We eat in local tuto turo restaurants and enjoy life, which God gives us, without a need to buy at least not many touristy things ... apart from the Whale Shark watching, hi hi hi !
@@sokapokvic2514 only half of the time we spend with their family. And in this time also we spent money - nothing is really free in this world, isn't it? For example: my wife invited her family (this time only 14 person) to Jollibee. ha's for a couple 1 week lunch in Jollibee, isn't it?
Hi Ken, yes 2000 € that's very reasonable for 1 month in the Phillipines as a solo traveler I m married with a Filipina , we are living together in Belgium, but when we travel to to the Phillipines mostly for 3 weeks we spend between 5000 and 6000 Euro that includes the flight and also extra island trip with airplane to the south islands with 1 week hotel and travel , we also hire a car in Batangas Luzon where my wife parents live and make road trips together with here parents to travel around and go to eat at restaurants. So yeah, how more people howe more expensive it can be. Greetings 🙏
🇵🇭❤️Those earning dollars can live like kings in the Philippines if they only know how. If they are wise in choosing real properties and living on homecooked meals, they can save a lot and maybe even increase their wealth thru wise investments 🥳
If you want comfortable accommodation and decent food during your stay in the Philippines, it’s definitely not cheap. Hotels in resort areas are in US dollars and are more expensive than hotels in Mexican resorts. Land transportation is also quite costly, unless you stick to local trikes, jeepneys and buses which are very time consuming and not comfortable. Air fares between islands are pretty decent though but can also be time consuming because all flights pretty much originate from Manila.
Ken we love you and wish you an even greater 2023 and more adventures to come. We love your videos and what you show off. Cant wait to see more and the breakdown of costs was important to see. I actually thought I would be more but for what you have done the price is very good. My girlfriend is Filipina from Cebu and because of her I found you and have remained loyal viewer. One day I plan to go and visit her family in Cebu plus other areas. Its not easy for locals to live there often so they leave to find and make themselves in the world. Not all but many. I respect the work ethic and who knows maybe you will meet a nice and lovely Filipina some day and either settle or travel together. Happy New Year Bro!!
Not a budget traveler for sure. Actually i am surprised by your budget.Well if anything it shows that you are doing good with your YT channel. My budget in 2019 was like half of your budget
Thank for sharing the information of the cost here.... Yup, The Phillipines , Vietnam..... These place are pretty affordable and I don't mean you don't need to be a budget traveller..... Keep up the good work.... Happy holidays and a Happy New year!
He is one of the most genuine foreign vlogger in ph!!! He is very humble and genuine whenever he is speaking with the people and he never take advantage of the previlages of a vlogger. My stepfather is Portuguese from Portugal but he died in Philippines. I put his urn in my hometown province in Negros Occidental. Mostly of his foreigner foreigner is pensioners they have nice life with their Filipino families living in normal life. Not living like a millionaire in one day only. They use the pension wisely. Better you live in provinces than the cities because you can budget very well in everyday life...🤗😘✌️🇵🇭ofw here
Lots of other factors to take into account as you said Ken. Everyone is different and will live to their own budget so it’s a purely individual things but it great that you’ve broken your expenses down and I know for sure that we have enjoyed watching your travels around the Philippines Thank you 👍
That is already luxury living in Philippine standard. Filipinos live very much lower than that. Your advantage is that you have been to many places in the Philippines. In my entire life I have never been to Cebu,Siargao and Palawan. I am planning to go to these places but my budget is short. Before being a tourist to other countries we must go first to our tourist spots.
Thanks for sharing Ken! Its always interesting to see these type of cost of living videos to see how affordable visiting such an incredible place like the Philippines can me. Cheers brother! Happy New Year!
Thank you for sharing, this is a good budget and I have just 1 remark - many expats are old retirees , and a decent health care insurance can add another 400 usd per month. The cost of visa and maybe visiting your home country and family once a year, would add up too.
It is definitely cheaper to live in the Philippines. I am vacationing here from the USA. Except for electronics, most things are cheaper like clothes, shoes etc. Just not name brands stuff
That is about spot on Ken. I was just in Subic Bay and it was a 3-week trip, I spent about $1800 total over 3 weeks and I was not even trying to no splurge lol. @2000US with a good lifestyle in Philippines is worth it. Because at that about of money you will live below the poverty line in US and UK. BTW, you can spend less than 2k in Vietnam and Thailand. Accommodations, transportations and utility are cheaper.
I don't think you can do a col most people can relate to. Most people are going to rent a house or apartment and not travel around staying a couple days at a time in hotels or Airbnb. Location is a huge factor in col and you were traveling much more than the average person. Btw, the eyeglasses look good. You should wear them more often.
Seems reasonable given all the travel and short term stays. I would have expected it to have been somewhat more expensive yet it does depend on where you stay or go ? If you have a $2500 or more budget this can be a lifestyle if you chose. A cheap location to remain could be less and an expensive area more ? You enjoyed yourself apparently and weren't really all that budget minded ?

Hello I was looking to move in the Philippines and I was wondering if you have any remote work me and my gf can get into even if we’re making below 1k a month , I was wanting to move so I could train martial arts to fight professionally and to also get away from the toxic lifestyle of where were living so I’m taking the leap but just need a way to make usd if possible please let me know it would be a blessing and we can set up a video call or I could send my email for you to get to know me more because I understand it'll be hard to make a decision under a youtube comment to see if we’re the right fit to work with you or help find work

Hi! Did you tried to go see Vigan Ilocos Sur? Try Vigan Ilocos Sur. Most especially go month of December to January you can see how the festival in that Country & Province.
With all the traveling I actually thought your costs were going to be much higher. I'm visiting next March and I found it refreshing to see a overall average of your stays in multiple areas. I do have a question though what did you use on your phone when traveling to get you to where you want to go and do you use the same app in all countries?
That’s a great budget for one person but most of the time we don’t, there are always family members to take and accommodate so the cost is not at all cheap, but traveling alone that is a great budget.
I highly recommend to those who want to retire is Iloilo City of love also can drive to Boracay Island. One of progressing province peaceful to live and has a lot of Island to explore like Guimaras, Isla Gegantes, Sandbar in concepsion and Sicogon Island. Typhoon not always come like Samar amd leyte.
spending 3-4k php per day is too much, locals only spend 100-1k php per day living a normal filipino, spending 3,800php per day is like a middle class filipino life, if you spend more than 5k php youre literally a rich foreigner living here in the ph
It will obv be lower if you stay in one place and rent a little house from a private person and just take it as a vacation. Travelling a lot while living the hotel lifewill always be quite a bit more expensive...
Dear Mr Ken Abroad.May I know where your next destination after you traveling around in Philippines? Are you come back to Malaysia again or maybe you go to Germany?

I've spent 10 000 USA in cambodia for 1month ,that's bar hopping paying for ladies of night, I could have spent half the money 💵 if you stay away from bar girls 👭 they can increase your spending
For 2000 $ per month I can live even in expensive London and other expensive city around the world...I thought those Asian countries are cheap ?! Or maybe that is the cost of luxury life in Asia ?!
@@harukrentz435 its hard to live in JKT or any big city on 500, one bdrm furnished apartment wont be under 250-300 a month even in cheapest part of city and you are left with 8 bucks a day for everything else.
I'm living in philippines 3 years now,and I'm planning to visit more tourist place,I also uplaod on youtueb my journeys, and I apply Ken Abroad Udemy Course how to became a Travel Influencer
As a filipino, i think bangkok is cheaper and better 😂 the problem in the philippines is the insane amount of inflation. Our family actually prefers to book tickets to bangkok instead of boracay/siargao/etc because the whole trip costs near the same.
WOW --- sounds like without a lot of effort - it would have been possible to cut some more expenses & save some money rather easily. Perhaps 20 or 25% less with just a little effort ?
Man, can you share us also your earnings in RUclips? Hope you can post also your videos in Facebook to get more earnings If you like to come back And you can more go easy to go somewhere in Philippines via Day tour travel agent. Very convenient already have itinerary

Nice video 😊
Thanks for sharing your estimated cost of your expenses while living in the Philippines 🇵🇭.
In which country do you declare your income and pay your income taxes? Do you pay income taxes at all?
You explain it very well and the Phillipines is cheap but what destination is better srilanka or the Phillipines
Hi Ken love your videos...👍
can i ask how do you " finance " your travel ? thank you 👍
By posting videos on RUclips
@@KenAbroad thank you Ken and good luck for next travel to Thailand 👍🙏👍( sub)
Are you going to Cambodia soon? Would be great to see your cost of living there and food tasting. Happy travels 2023.
Merry Christmas Sir,,,ken,,,
Awesome. $2,100 is my steady monthly income for retirement. Not counting other income, looks like I can live there just with that $2,100!
it will be a lot cheaper if you wont stay in a hotel. you can find a good place for $300-400 a month
The nerd like me really love this kind of video!!😂 So weirdly satisfying.
spending 3-4k php per day is too much,
locals only spend 100-1k php per day living a normal filipino,
spending 3,800php per day is like a middle class filipino life,
if you spend more than 5k php youre literally a rich foreigner living here in the ph
It will obv be lower if you stay in one place and rent a little house from a private person and just take it as a vacation. Travelling a lot while living the hotel lifewill always be quite a bit more expensive...
Good information, ❤
I'm smiling everyday I watched your videos
Thanks for sharing but that seams kinda low but ok keep up the good work!
Dear Mr Ken Abroad.May I know where your next destination after you traveling around in Philippines? Are you come back to Malaysia again or maybe you go to Germany?
nice video ken
I keep checking ur Channel Ken, it’s almost 2weeks u don’t have new upload. How was ur Travel back to Thailand?
I'm still in the Philippines, just taking some time off ✌️
😇Hi, thank you for sharing your video. I'm glad to be here. Hoping to watch more videos from you, keep on sharing and always have a great day ! - greetings from our family Kapiso mo Vlog 7:24
Have a great day too 🙏
I think Malaysia is cheaper and has better quality.
Ken next time i recommend you to visit Batanes islands....you'll love it there.....
Mabuhay welcome to my country from the philippines enjoy vacation muwaaah.
I've spent 10 000 USA in cambodia for 1month ,that's bar hopping paying for ladies of night, I could have spent half the money 💵 if you stay away from bar girls 👭 they can increase your spending
9000myr per month is ok for traveller who isnt on budget. Not too expensive and cheap either.
For 2000 $ per month I can live even in expensive London and other expensive city around the world...I thought those Asian countries are cheap ?! Or maybe that is the cost of luxury life in Asia ?!
I agree. I live in the UK and USD$2000 would be way more than I spend
Definitely a high class life. I live in Indonesia and my cost of living per month is less than $500.
Finally, a cost of living vlog coming from a Travel vlogger.
i try calculate before you show numbers and you spend around 5% less than i expected
That’s pretty good😃
You can live a good life for much less just avoid Manila.
😂😂😂😂 really avoid manila ..it's like pharmacy
I would have expected that to be way more expensive. Maybe the Philipines are a nice place to retire? Viele Grüße aus Ostfriesland!
sorry late views bec its holiday many visitors coming take care always
HOW MUCH YOU PAY THE RUclips YOU MAKE MORE MONEY OR MORE PROFIT KEN
Standard cost of living is different from standard cost of touring, big time.
Vigan, Ilocos Sur Philippines plenty ancestor’s or Spanish bldgs.
As a filipino, i think bangkok is cheaper and better 😂 the problem in the philippines is the insane amount of inflation. Our family actually prefers to book tickets to bangkok instead of boracay/siargao/etc because the whole trip costs near the same.
I still prefer Boracay the lovely beach and the scenery is still awesome for a vacation!!!
WOW --- sounds like without a lot of effort - it would have been possible to cut some more expenses & save some money rather easily. Perhaps 20 or 25% less with just a little effort ?
Wish you visit Baguio before you will leave the Philippines. god bless.
wow great guy / traveller
Hi Ken. Why no videos for a month ?
Hi Ken...are you ok? It's been a month, there's no new videos from you!?
Yeah I'm good. There is a post on my community tab explaining why there wasn't a video in the past month
