My wife and I just got back from a 3-day trip, and it honestly wasn’t the greatest. The view and the beach itself are absolutely spectacular, there’s no doubt about that. But holy shit, there was non-stop bugging by the kuyas trying to sell their parasailing/activity packages, and it really left a sour taste in our mouths. Every second you’re walking down the strip “MA’AM SIR, MA’AM SIR PLEASE PARASAILING, ISLAND HOPING!” You try to sit on the beach and enjoy the day with a coconut drink, 10 different people will come over and bother you about the same parasailing and island hoping packages, along with the sunglasses guy, the Groot statue guy and the kid trying to sell you necklaces for a long relationship. You go out to the ocean for a dip, then there’s a guy paddling over to you trying to get you to rent a paddle board for an hour. You get out to try and find lunch/dinner, there’s a hundred different people screaming “HAPPY HOUR MA’AM SIR, BUY ONE GET ONE!!!”, but when you get to the restaurant that sounds enticing the service is usually pretty abysmal. Boracay is nothing like the rest of the Philippines. We took another trip to Oslob, did the whale shark activity and many other things and had an absolute blast. I don’t think we’ll be back to Boracay.

The island is beautiful. It's the people who ruin it.
One of the most stunning islands I have visited is Kuroshima. The scuba diving is fabulous.
There are boats that take you over to another unspoilt island called Panari, where the coral is absolutely amazing.
We were snorkelling with sea snakes. Unforgettable.

Boracay definitely lives up to the hype. Been there earlier this year and fell in love with it ever since. Planning to spend Christmas there this year again with the family.
However I’m not surprised with foreigners being charged almost double or even triple the price for almost everything here. Sadly it’s like that in most tourist attractions in the Philippines. Locals just assume you “wouldn’t mind” spending extra just because you came from abroad. Though I’m gonna be a d*ck and say that it’s the west’s tipping culture which also contributed to this mindset.

Too many scammers. There are honest people, but the scammers are just too many. If you are a tourist, local or foreigner, if they get an idea that you don't know anything of the island, they will turn into a scammer. I pity the honest people/sellers/drivers who work hard there but they are just too few. compared to the scammers which is their actual way of living there - to scam tourists.

Why is the the Why you shouldn't???
Boracay may have irs up and Down but if you dont have the budget of course you miss many of its amazing amenities and Offers. I have a friend who went to place didn't went out of the hotel and said bad things about a place.
Saying you don't have no Budget for the fun things Boracay has to offer and went there and call it overrated is just plain unfair and stupid.
But its still a great Island 🏝️ and part of the Philippines Paradise 🇵🇭 and we too are travel a lot but my family don't bad mouth a place from Europe to Asia and call it overrated because we lack the fund's to utilize it's offers and the people are friendly more than I can say to foreigners in their country

350 Peso for Terminal fee is ridiculous
Terminal had already build long ago also environmental fee 150 peso is really a Shock why tourist should pay for such fee.

while in Manila take a short trip to Corrigedor Island about 20 mins. boat ride on a fastcraft, boarding area located behind the Cultural Center Manila...this island at the mouth of Manila Bay is one of the last battleground during WW2 where Filipino n American forces fought the Japanese....it like a sort of Pearl Harbor memorial in Hawaii....its worth visit for a different experience.

How do you book a boat to Corregidor? Is there someone we can call or email? We tried emailing and calling the Corregidor board and no one answered for months. Wanted to visit the historical sites when my boyfriend and I were in Manila

It was a heaven when i visited back in 2015, the beach was indeed the best i've seen so far. But it truly is devastating to me how its become today.... over-commecialized and over-hyped.
The price has quadrupled, if not tripled just within few years. My flight ticket was MYR400 direct, but now it's at least MYR1300 transit! And even by the look of your video, it was so crowded it feels frustrating..
I still remember before i left, there were constructions of luxury hotels nearby, i guess that's why it has become what it is today.. sad that i may never want to go back again as well..

Boracay isnt what it used to be. Now its more commercialized hence why they stated of overcrowding. But if we are going to talk about the Beach itself, none surpasses boracay beach.

@@j33k83 exactly. Those people saying other beaches are better are just BS. I had my time, when i love to dislike Bora. But having been 15 tiny islands in Philippines, yes, Boracay is fairest of them all. And it has hours of the day, when you will be completely alone. 6 am, no one is out on the beach. Everyone is asleep till 10 or 11 am.

yeah i hope tourists stop coming to Boracay so that it will not deteriorate fast and we Aklanons will enjoy the beauty of the island for a long time ... only the corrupt politicians benefit from it's income and they cant even do their job by maintaining its cleanliness and beauty, what's with the environmental fees they are charging from the tourists anyway? The money just go to their pockets.

Thats why Beaches are wide and large by natural existence, to accomodate people, not the monopoly of 1 or 2 person, unless it is privately owned beach, others want to be alone so you ask why are you here, and others ask you the same the question why are you here we want to be alone. Its a Tourist Destination and promote tourists to come, when tourists come, there is always complain.

Nothing beats boracay. Amazing beaches around the island. Great nightlife scene, amazing restaurants, bars and hotels just all withing walking distances.
These guys visited during the rainy season when the wind blows into white beach so the ocean is rougher which of course brings in more stuff from the sea. For people complaining about high prices, let me tell you that it is basically a nightmare to get quality products shipped in to the island and have constant supply of ingredients. I know that everybody has different opinions but the island and its people suffered alot during the last 5 years and videos where the caption is ready negative makes me angry.
Remember that behind a tourist spot there are people working hard to bring food to their family table. If there are no tourists then countless people have nothing to earn. So yea. I prefer a super busy Boracay over a quite and dead island to please some backpacking vloggers.
