    Just changed mine out (looked exactly like yours, powder blue lock ring and all) and this really helped by showing how to disconnect the electrical connections, especially the one on the far left (couldn't figure out if I had to push the tab down or or lift it). Thanks for posting.

    Seeing this makes the advice of 'always keep your tank 1/4 full' make more sense (to avoid pump wear/tear). I always imagined the pump being at the bottom of the tank.

    Just got a call from my crying gf and she said her friends fuel pump went out. I told her they are usually simple to change but apparently the repair shop wanted 1000$ to do the job. Insanity but I'll always like the simplicity of opening a door in the cab. Thanks for the video.

    Great place and easy fix, ford certainly doesn't do engineering like this much on it's new ones.

    Really new at this I want to change this myself or at least have the knowledge so I don`t get scammed. Does the fuel pump include a filter? Or where is the fuel filter located in the 2012 escape XLT 2.5L ? I`ve been struggling for a while with very low gas mileage and changing the fuel pump+filter is like the last thing I can think of to get better fuel economy like when I first got the car 3 years ago

    • @HowIFixedIt
      @HowIFixedIt  Год назад +1

      It includes a sock filter located on the pump should come completely assembled with the pump. It does have an in line filter on the outside of the tank. I hope this helps. Good luck 👍

      I would suggest replacing in line fuel filter. Spark plugs and a fuel treatment. Air filter and mass air flow sensor cleaning.

    I recently purchased a 2010 escape and the fuel gauge indicator doesn't seem to be accurate. I'm assuming it's the sending unit. Is the sending unit part of the fuel pump assembly in this replacement?

      Yes, look and see if the float arm or rod is bent.

    • @mikejones8583
      @mikejones8583 Месяц назад

      @brandonh.8882 right on. I'm waiting to run it mostly empty to minimize the spillage and then check everything out. I'm just glad this is the first vehicle I've owned that you don't have to drop the tank to do this!

      @@Spartan87667 the best way to see easily what the procedure would be just lift the rear seat and see if it has a door if not dropping the tank is needed. I hope this helps. I appreciate the feedback 👍

      I have a 2014 Escape EcoBoost and it does not have a door unfortunately the whole exhaust system and tank needs to be dropped. If you take it to the shop you're talkin hundreds of dollars to get it done
