Ford engineers decided that the old way required too little labor service. So they got together and figured out how to add an extra 2 hour labor service to replacing a fuel pump.

This is stupid for ford because 2001 through 2007 is accessible under the back seat .

Great How-To video , but really , Ford should have given us a access door for this procedure .

Ummmm correct me if I’m wrong but there is an access panel under the rear driver seat…. Atleast all the videos I watched but this one had one so…… I’m confused now

In fact…. After doing this exact repair myself…. You can indeed lift the back seat off and there is a rubber insulated access panel so…. 🤷🤷

Great how to video, they should add a step to drill a hole at the center of the fuel pump and cut a hole for future easy access.

Sub 100 dollar part like the assembly will cost you 700 dollars in labor to replace on 14 escapes and after. Shame on ford

Almost no gasoline cars use an external fuel filter anymore, with as clean as modern fuel is and with plastic tanks a sock around the pump is enough for the entire service life of the pump.
