Todd and Jim(especially Jim) can output fantastic fairly anatomically and perspectically(that a word?) correct art in a matter of seconds straight from their heads and twist and contort everything to how they see fit, like, insanely well. When it comes to technical abilities and shading etc alex ross is still legendary. Tho he does almost only do cover art

The creators were really fucked back then, he had every right to leave. The writers, artists, etc,..They all had a bad deal, even in DC. The sales drop wasn't because of Image Comic's creation, it was because of the larger factions decisions, they fucked themselves over back then.

I have THE GREAT SUSPECT that Todd McFarlane is the Big Lie in Comic History Forever... His Biography says he was rejected countless times by publishers. A great artist gets a job at the first or second interview... PERIOD! There is something in his approach, his gestures, his lines, in drawing videos that are not entirely convincing. In the industry there has always been talk of PHANTOM ARTISTS in some cases... I don't know... but it's just me. At the end of the day, the man today is rich $300,000,000 (according to Internet 2022) .... anyway.
I dont like their mutinous approach to Marvel, yet, I understand it. I think Image is average ,having an above average existence at it's formation, yet, Marvel was without a doubt, established and generally as good as good as comics could be
Yeah, he didn't draw HERE, but he explained fundamentals like perspective, figure drawing, how to make those images pop and feel more dynamic, etc,... Even panel layout and such. All the things that build to that special drawing you long for. It was more of an explanation/tutorial on how to do things. He has drawing videos on his channel and websites.
