- When I was 11 years old, I went on a Boy Scout camporee with my Dad. On the way home we stopped at a truck stop for lunch and he bought me three "Greatest Hits" tapes, all of which had a huge impact on my impressionable young brain: Jim Croce, Ray Stevens, and Roger Miller. All were great, said Dad, but “Roger Miller is The King and don’t you forget it.” And I didn’t. I’ve been a huge Roger Miller fan ever since, so when my buddy Charles "King" Arthur suggested we cover “King Of The Road” for a quarantine duet, I knew it had to happen. We had a lot of fun with this project, to say the least. Featuring yours truly on the guitar and vocals, Charles on keys and harmonies, my old pal Christopher Brydge on acoustic bass, and Richmond, Virginia’s own Mark Young on the kit. These folks are all dear friends and fine musicians; please support them! Vintage Stetson Homburg hat and 1917 Holzapfel parlor guitar courtesy of Dave Reimer, both of which create the perfect hobo vibe. Bad chord at the end, courtesy of Miller brewing. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Can you make a video about how to get the Duane Allman guitar tone
Great rendition! If you get the chance, I was trying to figure out a lick from At Filmore East, Duanes solo in Whipping Post. It happens at about 3:59 in.
Jacob M OK. Are you talking about the single note triplet figure or the ascending bend?
VirtualWoodshed I’m not quite sure the technical name of it, I’m 15 and only a couple years in, but it spans from about 3:50-4:01
