Great job - with beautiful tone ! I wore out a few Fillmore vinyls learning Duane’s solos. Conquering these solos is the only way to truly understand the brilliance of Duanes incomparable phrasing and intensity. This was all done in his early 20’s. Here we are 50 plus years after his death - and we still hold Duane in the highest regard …..for good reason, he was the best.
Thank you! He truly had a unique tone and its not easy to recreate it perfectly. I still find myself far from achieving his tone everytime I listen to his playing. There was no one like him and no one could come close to his improvisations, truly one of the greatest who left too soon
@@syd3610 I own several Les Paul's and come very close too. But - since acquiring a 2021 59' reissue im nailing the tone precisely - and this is after 40 years of playing guitar. These 59' reissues have that tone. It give me goose bumps everything I play it.
I believe it was the Jazz magazine Downbeat, who, after hearing this solo, called Duane Allman "The John Coltrane of the electric guitar". Understand, back then Rock was viewed as not up to par overall by the Jazz crowd, and in 99% of that was quite true. So when Downbeat put Duane Allman on an even plane as the most respected sax player on their roster.... that's some serious heavy artillery. You putting this (and all of the other songs) continues to keep Duane's legacy alive 50 plus years down the line. Thank you! You did a fabulous job!
He truly had a way of selecting his notes in all of his solos. After i found out he had listened to greats like john coltrane and miles davis, i also had a listen and noticed the lot of licks and phrases that Duane implemented from them. It's amazing how he could turn all those licks used on the sax and make it for the guitar. His playstyle is truly a unique one amongst all guitar players in history
Thank you for that info from the Jazz magazine Downbeat! To me Duane was the best I’ve ever heard in my first 75 years on this planet! The reason I started playing guitar a long time ago.
The key to Duane’s soloing is to build tension on the 2nd and 3rd strings for as long as you ca bear it then let loose on the high E. A master of building excitement. Best solo every constructed.
wow - thank you so much for this! I'm sure it involved a lot of work. Duane was a virtuoso... hard to believe how young he was and playing with emotion and dexterity on complex songs
Bravo! Really nicely done, you capture Duane’s feel and tone. I’ve been working on it for the past 6 weeks and I can only get to about 75% of the speed. It’s not easy to accomplish what you’ve done. Nice job bro!
Thanks brother I've been chasing his tone for almost a year and though its somewhat close, it's still not the way i like it to sound. And this was the first duane solo i learnt, it truly is rewarding to listen to his solos
Bravo 👏🦫🤘🔥🇺🇸🎊🍩👌🖖😎💪🥳🤞💰👍 I'm old enough to have seen Duane play live three times before he passed..... he's the reason I play guitar today.... keep his shoes shined you did a great job....
You are hitten the notes on your EADG but you B & E are just a little flat..Your killing it otherwise.." Don't dislike me, be like me" Honest opinion..Eat A Peach🍑
Yeah the double step bends duane uses in the B and E are very hard to play it like he does. Intonation is another issue. Good ear for noticing and thanks for the feedback. Eat a peach indeed🍑
Intensity of this solo is relentless. Awesome job!
Fabulous playing Syd!! Allman Brothers are definitely one of my faves - MOER is the best instrumental jam ever - IMHO! - great playing mate!!!

Your definitely hittin the note, great job. Duane would be proud of you.
What a tone! Can u tell me your gear, and if the guitar has custom pickups?
Thank you! I use an epiphone les paul plus top pro plugged simply into a boss katana 100 mkII. And no the pickups are factory, i.e probuckers
@@syd3610, if I might ask, where did you purchase your Epiphone guitar? New or used? It look and sound are phenomenal!
Your playing is really amazing!
Thank you lots man! The les paul was a used one. I'm from northeast India and i had bought it from a guy in south India. A very unique find out here.

Wow!
There is no solo by anyone in this song anywhere
Why do you folks continue to lie about a solo in this song
