Burn (solo) by Deep Purple
I've been listening to alot of deep purple lately and I'm gravitating alot towards Blackmore's playing. I'll be posting more of Blackmore covers for some time, apologies to my fellow ABB fans. However I still have some of Duane's covers left to be completed.
I couldn't use the tremolo for this solo since my squier keeps going out of tune no matter how much I tried to condition it. I'll just have to get some parts checked and replaced sometime. Cheers.

One of my all time favourites from this spectacular album. I believe this was the pinnacle of Eric's guitar playing, truly wonderful phrasings and licks some of which resemble Duane's licks too. Perhaps he had picked them up from the layla sessions, a great touch. This is a very long one and not easy to cover perfectly, made some little mistakes here and there but its the best I could do. After a year of learning and playing the slide, I'm finally able to play this tune from start to end. It's the first song I learnt on slide though this version is not the famously known Fillmore East version but rather from a different night. I prefer this over the other, everything sounds better on this recording. I haven't done the entire rhythm section of Dickey's but I've added his solo too...

This is my favourite version of whipping post specifically Duane's solo because of how aggressive and fast paced it is. He went full send on this show compared to the other versions of whipping post. It's very fun to play too and I haven't seen a single cover for this version so I guess this is the first. enjoy

The key to Duane’s soloing is to build tension on the 2nd and 3rd strings for as long as you ca bear it then let loose on the high E. A master of building excitement. Best solo every constructed.

IF you want to know #2.... then listen to Lie in Our Graves by Dave Mathews Band from Saratoga Performing Arts Center in NY. SPAC 1999. I WAS there and Boyd Tinsleys violin solo is nealry as amazing. i swear on everything you will enjoy it.... more "classical" as opposed to soul/blues, but just as beautiful. TELL ME IM WRONG...
