Yet and STILL (as Mary Wilson says)....my FAVORITE Jr Walker and the All-Stars track...with added stretch by Motown's Fabulous Funk Brothers. - Видеоклипы
I saw Junior Walker and the Allstars in 1967 at the Howard Theater in Washington DC. My date and I were just a few of the white people there. What a great concert. What a great time!
Today's music cannot compare. This is the real thing.
Facts
For me ROADRUNNER and Itchin In My Heart say MOTOWN SOUND more than anything I've ever heard !
This is the only place that this version exists. I created it. Thanks so much!
Screaming fabulous 10,000 times over. Thanks.
What a superb job you did, aye 👍🏽😁🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🤘
Its tremendous!
Listening to this over and over . . and the horns !
I went to an all boy all white middle class public school and I was the ONLY pupil who played music by Black musicians. Why? Because it was so wonderful to dance to and so marvellous to listen to and most importantly SO Sixties!
Any reactions from fellow students and staff?
When Junior Walker plays his sax, he wakes the dead. Man, this guy had it all. Love his energy.
YES HE DID!
AMEN
I'm a 74 year old road runner. Got me a new knee in January so I can still keep dancing to Jr. and the all stars.
I appreciate your new knew my RoadRunner Dancer of all time! When Jr. Blew that sax, it just shook our world, however , I am so happy Jr. finally sang "what does it take to when your love in 1969"! My all time favorite from Junior Walker and the band!
Junior Walker was a brilliant musician who didn’t get the respect that was due him. He was in a league all by himself. Love the music he produced.
I agree 100 percent. When you hear mentions of Motown and the other many great acts, Junior Walker and the All Stars aren’t really even mentioned. So sad because he was like the only Motown act that played a instrument and sung. The other acts were toe-tappin singers.
@@a.b.sproductionsllc What about Stevie Wonder? Marvin Gaye?
@@paulweir5031 I freaking LOVE Stevie Wonder’s music! From the 60’s until now! And other than harmonica it seem like a lot of his early performance was standing and not playing. Seem like later by the early 70’s he was more so on the Clavinet and playing other instruments.
Yes he was..great musician mind
Agree totally, Junior's sax (and Stevie's harmonica sounds) were so distinctive, so easily recognisable
Lets hear it for MOSOGOTAM for having that musical ear to re-create this stunning soul sound...It is soo goooodd!... the drums have that quintessentially re-tro sounding "dustbin-lids" effect.
Young fresh and earnest.Thank you MOSOGOTAM ...
I was 13 years old when this came out. Got into trouble at school for playing it repeatedly in a 40 minute lunch break . I still love it.
play it even longer
Saw Jr. twice live and he brought the house down every time. Brilliant singer, songwriter and legendary sax player. Bomaye ❤️
I saw them play in Northampton, in around 72 ,they were brilliant 👏
Who's still listening to this in 2020 still sounds good to me play that sax Junior Walker rest in peace your music is still alright with me today I'm sure I'm not the only one now play it
i am !!!
I listen to it everyday over and over. Genius
We made real music.
@@mireillerogge933 me too!!! Be Blessed
Best music ever. I have been listening since the 1960s. Just now hearing about the wonderful Funk Brothers.
@@ganymeade5151 they played on most most of motown's 60s hits. the bassist, james jamerson. is particularly outstanding. Be Blessed
The Best music. Not like the garbage of today.
This song was in the 60s when my parents would be there friends and family members having themselves a good time and put all children in another room when they be partying after a long week of work O how miss those days wow
I'm 63 and have loved Jr since I was around 2 . ❤
Bass, baritone sax out of this world, then there’s that characteristic choppy guitar, probably a Telecaster- this band were just magic.
That sax just blows me away..Jr Walker once said...I sing some..I blow some...and then some brother...and then some
It doesn’t get any better than this 😊
You do not hear this kind of music anymore. You will never hear this style ever again. I'm so glad that I grew up in that ERA. This is who we are SOUL PERSONAFIDE 100% The music today is TRASH, EMPTY and SOULESS.
Mike Terry steals the show on this jam! That man is the reason I picked up a baritone sax. Nobody else has that ripsaw growl. RIP.
Thank God for the beautiful souls of the Funk Brothers.
Right on...🎷🎺🎸❤️🎸🪘🎹❤️🎵🎶🎼
First soul record I’ve ever heard, it blew me out of my mind, still does. Must have been 55 years ago...
One of my first too. You got the time right, 1965. Living in LA then, Revolution was in the air. Now is the time to finish that job.
I remember seeing an interview with Jr Walker..he just said I sing some..I blow some...hell yea and then some..
That driving Bass & Baritone Sax with Jr Walker's Tenor Sax...classic Motown!
Here we again i,m a road runner baby god bless jr walker and the stars
Raised on Motown, now 66, love these remixes makes it all so new & fresh
I was 10 years old in the first heard the song and I remember it very clearly I give thanks to the Funk brothers and Junior Walker All-Stars
Jr Walker and the Funk Brothers. Does not get much better than this folks.
Jamerson is killing that bass line.
So the AllStars didn't actually play on this track ?
@@marcopiaggesi8768 Same people I believe .. Funk Brothers was the name for the studio band fluctuating .. All Stars some of them , Saw the Funk Brothers live on thier last round , Fantastic
This Beautiful Man!!!!!
100%
The Great Jr. Walker. One of the greatest songs of all time.
Seriously....NO ONE writes anything even CLOSE to this EXCELLENT today...also the FUNK Brothers- and Holland-
Dozier-Holland .....incredible geniuses....all of them. Makes this old white chick Grandma....so very happy to rock on and on and on!!! Thank you!
Jr Smoked this tune!! Loved it from the time it was released!! It will NEVER GROW OLD!!!!!!!
68 brought up on this....nothing else....oh yeah some food in between dancing
That Sax still gives me chills!!!! TURN IT UP I JUST CAN'T HOLD STILL !
Jr Walker played sax on Foreigner s Urgent
lm 60 years old and played in a band growing up. kids today think there in the driver seat with there music, but what they do not know is our generation built engines.
Anyone that heard an old muscle car knows that they had a different atitude.
So true Ron and this song is the best example !!
I like it!! Well versed. They know how to press computer keys but not piano keys.
goddamn right! and they were better engines mister!
Yes!
Man these guys can slam it down and just get after it now. Sure does bring back some good memories. Man oh man what a saxophone player, Jr Walker, one of my all time favorites
Jr.Walker was the greatest sax player of all times Soulful and like me,he was a roadrunner love U Jr. Always anf thank U!!!!
Good old school music. grew up as a kid listening to this song.........................Dec ,2019
If this Jr. Walker & The All-Stars doesn't get you off your behind running for the dance floor, you don't have a pulse! Shake and finger poppin' to this extended version, John!
AMEN, BROTHER!! Can't sit still during this!!!-----------------WolfSky9
@@Wolfsky9 I AGREE 100 %
These songs are dance floor fillers.
I seen Junior in San Jose, CA in 1972. He was so nice, I asked him about Hunter Hancock the disk jockey.
I just never tire of Junior's music. It is like at times I crave it. Today is one of those days.
I do have one album of his and it is pretty worn out. My favorite song by him is "What Does It Take".
The best time of our lives...
As Baad as Jr. Walker was on tenor, one could argue that "Motown" Mike Terry on baritone MADE this record a hit! Thanks for this remixed version!
WORD, read my comments above.
NO DOUBT BUT THE BOTH OF THEM BROTHERS COULD BLOW ! 🎷
My husband say's that Mike Terry was The Bari -Man a legend who played simple 8 bar solo's on over 800 Motown hits....He Doubles Jamerson on Thomas
On this SONG. 🎼🎸😎👍
and didnt even get a mention in Stand in the shadows of motown doc. unforgiveable that and the Andantes
Just beautiful..Mike Terry on the bari with James Jamerson keeping the grove with "the hook" on bass...go Junior and the Funk Brothers!
Bad Ass Jamm.....As a child, My Family Party Song would IGNITE the Dance Floor
So happy to see that there are no "thumbs down" for this. There were 74 "thumbs up" when I came on, and I'm adding number 75 right now, then back to dancin'!
76 checking in !!, u GO JR!! . blow brother BLOW!! Rodion I'll see u on the floor!!
There are 66 people who claim they don't like this song. Haters gotta hate !

You outdid yourself with this one, Mosogotam. Thanks for doing it.
If this music doesn't give you chills and make you move, need I say more !!!!! FABULOUS !!!!!!

Quintessential hard hitting Soul from Junior and the funk Brothers who deserve all the recognition they get ...thankfully I saw him and his brothers of Soul at Wigan Casino what a privelege....play that Sax 🎷 wow mind-blowing ✊🎷
Speechless. White dude who grew up in the D.C. area in the 60's. Can this get any better? Doubtful.
No Way my Man this is the stuff we love !
Damn fabulous and then some!!!!!! I am dancing now with my beau!!!!!
Many white suburban kids listened to Motown back in the 1960s, and we are still listening.
This is with out a doubt the definition of what the Funk Brothers' musical talents encompassed..Jr. Walker's riffs are INSANE thanks to your remix!!! THANK YOU!!
+Mark Rocovich Mark....thanks a whole lot!!
As a young drummer, I just couldn't get the funk Brothers groove. 65 now and doing it fine. Love these dudes ❤. RIP to all, especially Benny 🙏

I am so sorry to learn that mogostam passed away from Covid....if that's true...posted on another song. HE did fantastic extended plays. Even the snippets of studio chatter he included. RIP, brother.

MOTOWN’S MOST UNDERRATED GROUP !!
JR. WALKER & THE ALL-STARS (Vic Thomas, Willie Woods, & James Graves) SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK and ROLL HALL OF FAME
D E C A D E S AGO !!
Their OMISSON is indicative of EVERYTHING that’s WRONG with The HALL !!
A floor filler when I was a dj. Wish I had had this version. Would have played it all night.
If you`re not wearing a quality headset when listening to this, you are missing out.
Amen
And then turn it up 🎷🎸🎺🥁🎹🎤

That sax just makes it ..
incredible dynamo soul. never was nor will be another JrWalker
Roadrunner makes a soul statement like no other and that's that!!!
THIS MUSIC IS TIMELESS ,MAN , I WILL BE ANOTHER YEAR OLDER IN A FEW DAYS, THIS SHIT STILL WORKS
Jr. Walker was the James Brown of Motown. His music was more bluesy with a strong funky beat. And his singing was more down home like. But his saxophone playing was phenomenal.
I am skating to this in the park on my cell phone with my blue tooth blaaaaring, and the people are looking @ my moves. Lord if they only knew I am 75 years in age and still killing it!
Can't stay in one place too long so therefore that makes me a roadrunner
This is cool ! Love the extended version , moso !
Paul....thanks so much!!
I bangs this shit . I'm young dude. Its funky as hell. Just imagine if this was on now technology. Wow!
Impossible not to shake whatever you got to this groove.

Listening to Motown , Just recently found this Tune. Can't stop playing it now.

Right on, the late great Jr. Walker!
Another Mosogotam extended Masterpiece. Just brilliant work. Remember seeing Jnr Walker and the All Stars at Nottingham Palais de dance about 1969.The place was packed to the rafters and Jnr blew the roof off! Great days that we will never see again but thanks for these extended Motown tracks. You’ve got soul for sure John!
I can listen to this over &over and never get tired of this jam.
Saw the Clash and Toots and the Mytals at the Hammersmith Palais . How sad it was knocked down .
