A sad day today. The last surviving member of The Four Tops, Duke Fakir passed away today.😢😢😢😢
Although the men are not, psychically, around, their music will ALWAYS BE a part of those of us who grew up during the 60's and 70's.
I like to think that they're, now, reunited and putting on A HELLUVA OF A SHOW in ROCK 'N ROLL HEAVEN.❤❤❤😢😢😢😢

I heard the first and short song, "Standing in the Shadows of Love," when I was in the eighth grade in junior high school. It is one of my favorite Four Tops songs. In fact, the Four Tops were my first favorite [male] Motown groups in 1965 when I heard their song "I Can't Help Myself, at my elementary school graduation. I thought about this song in my mind when I was in junior high school. All I can mention is that John Perrone, as Mosogotam, did a superior job in improving the play time to this song, "Standing in the Shadows of Love." I could not ask for more than I wish he was alive.

Holland-Dozier-Holland wrote masterpieces..... Bernadette is my fave, but this is up there too. RIP Levi, James and other fantastic musicians who have passed. Ole’ Levi Stubbs had a trumpet and clarion voice. Greater, in my opinion, than all the temptations combined. With perfect phrasing and even subtle inflections that put him squarely at the top level of the Motown troupe. A true “artist” vocalist that causes today’s self described artist to pale and just slink off somewhere wherever whatever. Heart, and soul, and a superlative gift. And class makes him peerless. And he loved and respected his band mates to the end. A real gentleman! Paul W. Green

      Just unique all away around.
Then with Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and Al Green, they were also great.
Put on some good headphones with good Bass and listen to All Greens song I tried to tell myself and Living for you. Al Green was good to.

I'm 59 years of age. The Motown Sound was a major part of the soundtrack of my childhood. My brother and I would spend countless hours trying to dissect and get into the finer nuances of this great sound (unplugging the right speaker to hear the bass and drums, but not the guitar or unplugging the left speaker to hear the guitar, piano and vocals but not the drums ans bass, etc...) Your mixes have made it possible to hear the raw, uncut Funk Brothers, down in that "Snake-pit" at the top of their craft. Man, what a time in musical achievement. Keep up the great work. Mosogotam, your mixes are bringing joy to the hearts of thousands.

Why do you say that? Their singles were HUGE and unlike some of the Motown artists who left the label for other labels they actually got a few more hits after they left. "When She Was My Girl" on Casablanca was a biggie. If they were ever not given the respect they deserved it would've been when they were on Arista. I thought "Invincible" should've been a much bigger hit than it was. I also think that "Reach Out (I'll Be There)" is among an elite group of Motown single masterpieces, just my opinion.

You're like a Jeweler who sees a diamond(s),(which all the GROUPS you present{"MOSOGOTAM"} are). With your craftsmanship you expose all sides of these JEWELS of entertainment,You put them in a new "SETTING",(so to speak),and you present your wonderful gifts to us,......A "NEW","FRESH" Jewel for us to marvel at,.....Bless you, bless you. You've RESURECTED the past and the PRESENT (day/now) is overwhelmed at your stylish renditions and RE-births.,......I'm 64 yrs. old.,......I'm re-born.,.....Again,BLESS YOU!!!

PrinceWilliam TheFox We lost Mosogotam in April to covid. Please help keep his channel up and running by spreading the brilliant work he did with all you know. Truly a great talent and loss and very sad. Damn this virus.

@@brianherrington7226 MAAN...you just made my heart stop! I just found this channel today because a Four tops song popped in my head last night. I came on RUclips looking at all the videos of them and was so thrilled to find these "Jewels" redone with so much spirit added....I wrote a little note to Mosogotam.
Now to find out this Sprit has left this mortal coil?? So many musicians died this year that have caused me to grieve. Not one Waste-of-Time politician though..just great musicians like Tony Allen, Bill Withers, Manu Djbango.
Please, if you know this man's family, kindly extend my heartfelt and sincere condolences. The Late, Great Fela Kuti once said "Music Is The Weapon." I can only say that Mosogotam sure turned it LOOSE...and turned it OUT!!

shjakes He and his channel are truly jewels and he left us some incredible mixes. His name was John Perone and he had a radio program up on the eastern seaboard. Tell all your friends of his incredible work and channel and everyday you will find a gem. Gone but not forgotten.

Two of the best session bands in rock and roll history. Loved them both. Mister Mister was a session band too. Rick James also worked as a session artist in England.

I can't believe how good these remixes are! I grew up on the Motown sound, among all the other genres, and I am so blown away that these classics are improved upon. How does one improve on perfection? This is how! The original recordings aren't as clear either. Amazing, just phenomenal.
