I always put a phone in a case and install a screen protector. It's too expensive not to. With the emerald green color on the back of the phone, I use a clear case. I think the back is beautiful and should be clearly seen. I did run into a bug with the "close all" button. It closes all but the last screen, which it brings to full screen. Imagine a "close all" button that doesn't close all. Otherwise, the phone is great in daily use and it takes great photos as well.

You're review is exactly what I would say about my OnePlus 12... the only negative is how silky smooth the back is. I went with the black phone instead of the emerald, but it's the same... very slippery. The black composite case takes care of that issue. The phone itself is awesome. Crazy long battery life, and the cameras take great photos and video.

dude, i cant tell you how much that IR blaster saved my ass. The other day my remote ran out of batteries and i used my phone to hit the next episode haha. Glad i got this phone. My one plus 8T can rest easy now.
The phone is indeed slippery. It's actually less slippery than the OP7 pro and OP 10 pro. Those two phones would slide down any fabric. As a result, I got a carbon fiber case. It feels as close to bare as possible but it could still dampen most of the fall damage. Big fan of sandstone cases as well. The grip makes a big difference.
I use a carbon slim case. I love it because it's so slim but I know the protection is limited especially if it lands flat on its face. I'll just have to be careful. The phone itself is a beast. Battery life is average. Cameras are very good.

Got it today, camera is on another level. Its like Mark said... WAY less sharpening and more natural colours. I hate samsung for this. For me, unusable camera. But OxygenOS has less customization than OneUI but is WAY faster. In absolutely anything. And a ton of really useful features. Still... the UI is sometimes feeling like stock android.
One problem when I change android phones from one flagship into another, I feel the major issue is the android apps not being stable, some drop frames at times. I heard OnePlus's trinity engine can help to stablize the app? Does it work truly well in this aspect?
I was a hardcore OnePlus fan from the 6 to the 8T. I even had a 9 and a 10 Pro at different points, but the 9 had pretty bad typing lag and the 10 Pro was a curved phone which I quickly came to hate and sold. So my last was really the 8T. The notifications delay issue I was having along with the spotty software updates and mediocre biometrics eventually pushed me to an iPhone. I'd love to someday go back to Android just for how much better the typing experience is than on the iPhone. I think they might be able to win me back if they released this package but with a nice flat display like they used to have. I really dislike that they jumped full force onto this curved display bandwagon that Samsung started so many years ago. Now that Samsung have jumped off, I'd love to see a OnePlus 13 with the same top tier specs and battery life.
One thing most reviewers are missing is the number of options in the Always on Display, one can put Random Graphics, their own photos, design their own animeations ,the list is endless.
I jumped from the OP7pro to the OP12 black. The 7 was MUCH more slippier. And the curved display is just more comfortable to hold, compared to my partner's S23 Ultra's sharp edges. Also in Europe we get a 100W charger not 80 :D
It's battery is next level, I have it fully charged. 4 hour 45 min usage and 2 hour 5 min SOT and still at 81%. So it should be somewhere in between 8-10 hours Screen On Time. In that I played PUBG for around 20 min.
I can def second the slippery back. I just got mine 3 days ago and it LITERALLY slides off the palm of my hand while trying to hold it. Ordered a case immediately (not sure why OP stopped providing their own cases).
Mark , new to your channel, and really liking your style! Too often, i watch to get a "feel or opinion or take " on something & what i get is a non tech expert trying to be an expert. " i don't know what it is," that's the honesty and sincerity of telling it like it is to you. Then , watching you go through the settings, interface, launcher, that may have pushed me back up on the fence. I don't need it , but back to wanting " that " experience. I was that way with my McLaren 7t pro 5G. I Still use it . ... As a deep into the Samsung ecosystem by default, this type of straying is refreshing but also a distraction. Really EFFECTIVE, ( thats key ) video . Good n excellent videos are entertaining n memorable, but effective video get you thinking deeper about what your thoughts were toying with you. Well done and thank you.
Hey man I really liked your review! You proved that you've actually went and tried the OS unlike most reviews where they say "Meh, it's worse than Pixel's stock Android or Samsung's OneUI". But trust me I've seen many reviews and no one even mentioned the icons customization or the "guest mode". Thank you dude. I'll be switching from my 6T into the 12 as soon as I get a good deal. That's a 6 generations jump, can't wait!!!
Frankly, I love the curved glass design. I can't stand these flat slab Flintstone phones that are all the rage. Curved glass is far more ergonomic and easier to hold. Once more, it has a far more premium look. In fact, screen protectors are not a problem. My local phone repair store offers a service called protection pro. They can literally print a rubberized vinyl screen protector for any device. They apply it with an adhesive and it never bubbles and is always perfectly straight.
This phone is a absolute monster,5400 battery,16 ram,512 storage ,the only slight issue os the only 4 years of updates other than that this could be top 3 of the year
hello, just bought the oneplus 12 and i find the battery to be not as good as people say, 3 hours of sot with 60 percent battery remaining and i use it nomrally just on snapchat instagram and youtube, sometimes web and also calling, i have optimized as much as i can as well but still dont get to 8 or 9 hours of sot like people get why is this, shouldi try the factory reset method or what. Please help i am kind of dissapointed
Giving up OP. Used from OP 5 to OP 11. But giving it up now. After sales service is poor (atleast in India) and software updates are joke - nothing gets tested before rolling out the update and the phone almost always gets messes up after an update. And the after sales service's solution always is to reset to factory settings. Very disappointing
I really love my Oneplus 12. It's fast, UI is smooth as silk, its Trinity engine is the best in the industry for smoothness, absolutely no bloatware, works like a beast with all the multitasking I do on it, great display with good visibility outdoors, excellent RAM management, superb battery backup that lasts all day and has never let me down. Strongbox engine 3.0 keeps my confidential data secure and gives me peace of mind. Camera is decent too, works for my purpose. I own the Galaxy S23 ultra as well but use OP 12 as my primary phone as I absolutely love it!
The only slipper it is to me is on the website and if you're not careful on scrolling down it's just scroll all the way down to the bottom of the web page very quickly doesn't feel slippery in the hand that's my opinion
Returning my OP12R! It blocks notifications on some apps and no fixes found, only many, many other frustrated people on Reddit. Also drops the network connection making apps just load until wifi mode is clicked off and on again. None of the households other 5 units have any issues with the home wifi. Same at work... Basic function just don't work. Returning to my trusted OP 5T, no issues there, only a crappy camera, which I couldn't care less about.
The curved display still looks more modern than the flat display. Also the phone overall feels more comfortable in the hand. I'm still using the S21 Ultra and it feels way better to hold than an S22, S23 or S24. Sorry but Curved Display is still superior.
So to summarize what you just said. You like accidental touches all day long and extra blinding reflections from your phone. But it looks modern and you feel superior? You're an Apple fan in disguise.
@vladimird8541 My uncle's name is Vladimir and he's pretty ignorant and judgmental much like yourself. I go through my entire day not getting any accidental touches on my Galaxy S21 Plus and I'm not even sure what Reflections you're referring to. I actually work for a major cellular carrier and have for almost 12 years. I still have customers say how good my phone looks and they asked me sometimes "if that's a new phone or not?" If you don't like a curved display that's fine. Have fun holding onto your gigantic, sharp cornered, rectangle block of cheese like the s24 ultra.🖕

And the curved display is just more comfortable to hold, compared to my partner's S23 Ultra's sharp edges.
Also in Europe we get a 100W charger not 80 :D
I thought the S23U was way slippier than the OP12. :D
Which case is that, though? Ringke?
Watching on my OnePlus 12...💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Since 8:00 in the morning my phone is still in 47% using...FB.. RUclips..Pocket FM...etc.. etc... Great phone
It's battery is next level, I have it fully charged. 4 hour 45 min usage and 2 hour 5 min SOT and still at 81%. So it should be somewhere in between 8-10 hours Screen On Time. In that I played PUBG for around 20 min.
@@maheshaddepalli5158at what settings are you using your phone on to maintain battery power
im on day 3 and the battery is at 26% and Ive been using heavily
@@lcc726 bruh at what settings are you using the phone for you to not charge for 3 days ?
@@HughJazzTTs which settings are u referring to?
Nice review... Funny when you have Nova launcher it kind of stops you looking into what ships out with the OS, so than for the tips... Atb,
Hey man I really liked your review!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! :) enjoy your new phone 🙃🙃
Do you like the 1+ ?
@@djjoep100 I love it dude. Best phone I've ever had by far. People ask me which phone it is
Frankly, I love the curved glass design.
Which are much better buy at same price Samsung S 23(245gb) or OnePlus 12?
This phone is a absolute monster,5400 battery,16 ram,512 storage ,the only slight issue os the only 4 years of updates other than that this could be top 3 of the year
Lack of AI features as well

Does the HDR work on Netflix. I've heard of issues with this oneplus devices?
hello, just bought the oneplus 12 and i find the battery to be not as good as people say, 3 hours of sot with 60 percent battery remaining and i use it nomrally just on snapchat instagram and youtube, sometimes web and also calling, i have optimized as much as i can as well but still dont get to 8 or 9 hours of sot like people get why is this, shouldi try the factory reset method or what.
Waiting for mine to arrive this weekend! Upgrading from Huawei mate 20 pro which had serve me very well for this long.
Hey, loved the review! One question though, I’m getting 5-6 hrs of screen on time. Any idea what’s the issue
same issue for me also get any solution?
No
I bought the 12 gb of RAM version on accident instead of the 16, do you think that's gonna make a big difference
Nah I wouldn't worry too much about it! It'll be amazing either way
You can do 4k 60 on all lenses now
And which version of OnePlus 12 do you have??
Wouldn't it be okay to put a thin coat of silicone over the back to help the grip?
I really love my Oneplus 12. It's fast, UI is smooth as silk, its Trinity engine is the best in the industry for smoothness, absolutely no bloatware, works like a beast with all the multitasking I do on it, great display with good visibility outdoors, excellent RAM management, superb battery backup that lasts all day and has never let me down. Strongbox engine 3.0 keeps my confidential data secure and gives me peace of mind. Camera is decent too, works for my purpose. I own the Galaxy S23 ultra as well but use OP 12 as my primary phone as I absolutely love it!
how about social media on this device sir
Very informative video. Thank you very much. Yes, definitely you shud do a comparison videos.
Thank you very much for this very informative and interesting video. I really like the personal touch, not the commercial one. This Message is sent from Brussels/ Belgium/ Europe by an oneplus 6. Have a nice day.
I was using oneplus buds pro 2 connected to op 12, and I think the sound quality is much worse than connected to op 8 pro.
Any opinions?
Change Bluetooth bit rate in developer options.
Can someone tell me what's wrong with curved display. I remember onece it was a trend . Everyone loved it. I have recently orderd oneplus 12 it will arrive in a few days. Can anyone guide.
The distortion on the sides as well as not being as comfortable to hold
I don't mind the smoothness of the back.
I've never used a curved screen phone & I'm currently in awe of using one perhaps one day.
I'm loving this phone.
Hey, thanks a bunch for the awesome review! It really helped me, Keep up the good work
Which phone would you choose: oneplus 12 or oppo find x7 ultra?
Both are alike.
But one plus12 look nicer to me.
And cheaper.
So i go with oneplus
Great review! The inconsistent battery life on Samsung is true. Sreen on time on my S24+ fluctuates wildly from day to day despite similar usage.
Please do a comparison with Pixel 8 Pro. I'd also like to know what you think of the OnePlus 12R.
One plus 11 was almost perfect for me. Only thing was screen wasnt bright enough. Then this came out with brightest screen. I love this phone
I'm definitely getting this phone, I had Samsung phones for a long time but they have gotten just like Apple.
You have got to be my favorite tech reviewer. Keep it up. and thank you for coming back to reviewing Oneplus Phones.
thank you so much! :)
I've been using 7t pro and liked it a lot. Only thing I was missing was Samsung-like one handed mode. Ability to shrink screen not only to bottom of the phone but also to the left/right. Thing I was missing because the phone was so big.
IMO best phone for the money in history! I owned iPhone 15 PM, S24U, Oneplus Open, Zfold 5, S24+
Hmmmm......how do you know which one to pick up when all of them ring together???........🤪😂😂😂

I'm hesitant about the pixel 8 and OnePlus 12 soo yeah, i would like the comparison video 🎉
pixel 8 cant even play most games on max settings
did u fell hearing sound is little low very dificult to hear croud place?\
I bought mine for $700 ($200 off the 16GB version). I agree its way better than the Pixel 8 Pro, S24, and S24+
I bought the white version. I like the curved display.
Because of the oneplus 12 I will never buy a Sony or Samsung phone unless their prices go down. I had the Oneplus 3 and was not impressed at the time, but this phone really puts it on the map. Pixel, Samsung, Sony and Apple take note.
