I've often wondered if you could come up with something like an LCD licence plate that would pass casual inspection. It'd need to be passively lit, but I think it could work. And be highly illegal.
The license flipper would be legal in one circumstance that comes to mind: in NC, if you own a classic auto, you are allowed to run a plate from the year of your auto, I.e. a 67 Mustang can have a 1967 plate on the car, but you have to have the up-to-date registered plate in the car at all times. Okay, the flashing lights and the sirens are used here in the Dominican Republic by the locals. Only tourists pull over for them. We don't even pull over for police cars that are displaying flashing red and blue lights. I pull over for ambulances but not a lot of others do.
Funny enough but it goes back to the '80s and the 'Shit Happens' bumper stickers. They made it vague enough so 'obscene' images counted as well. Oddly enough, the law only applied to vehicles themselves, so riding my motorcycle wearing my "Simon Says Fuck Off" was fine.
The “police” lights are technically illegal but at the same time if you are a volunteer firefighter in a state that allows for volunteer first responders to have emergency lights then its not illegal
I’m glad someone mentioned this! For the lights specifically, when legal in the state, the use by a vff is at the discretion of the chief/department policy. The light color is regulated as well and will differ from red to blue to green and possibly more. Sirens are almost never allowed for vff’s. Once you add a significant department logo/markings to a vehicle. It would probably be considered an “official” department vehicle instead of a POV, like we have been talking about.
The "police lights" are, to my knowledge, illegal in every state. The temporary lights used by Fire/EMS (full time and volunteer) are a specific shade of red and have a set strobe frequency/pattern. The few vehicles I've seen with them, seem to have Fire/EMS insignias on the license plate as well.

fun fact: When "my friend" used to live in a state with toll roads, he had a motorcycle license plate dangling under under the seat using 2 hinges. @@haraberu turns out it makes perfect sense actually , how do you think exhaust rusts from the inside? if you spend some time around cars you'll get used to see brown water drip, expecially with cold starts because vapor condensates on the still cold exhaust pipes: water vapor is one of the gases that come out of your engine and it's the only one that can condensate this easily , so when a car does many cold starts without heating up long enough, water accumulates in the whole exhaust, this is even accentuated by catalytic converters .

There’s also a Lawyer with a RUclips channel called Legal Eagle. I think that’s where the references comes from
When it comes to flames out of the car. There are places that deal with forest fires, having flames coming out of the exhaust will get you an at least $2000 fine.
we don’t deal with forest fires here but it’s still a massive fine if you have flames coming out of the exhaust bc the mod for that to happen would be illegal
most def here in LA its super beyond illegal to have anything that purposely sets things on fire. pretty much we live in a city that's apparently more flammable then Tokyo during ww2
Oh ya I live in Northern California and they don't play when it comes to spitting flames while driving
One time I was driving through Napa CA in my modified El Camino (that does shoot small flames that a cop saw) and I got a 6500 dollar fine. And off the record couldn’t fight it so I ended up out 6 grand…
@@coyster530 Learned that the hard way after I got a 6 grand fine in Napa.
I'm jealous, I've always wanted a VW with a McCafé coffee dispenser on the exhaust
LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Okay, the flashing lights and the sirens are used here in the Dominican Republic by the locals. Only tourists pull over for them. We don't even pull over for police cars that are displaying flashing red and blue lights. I pull over for ambulances but not a lot of others do.
"I feel like I would see the most truck nuts in Florida."
Why does he think they made it illegal?
As a Floridian, yup. They WERE everywhere, and that's why they're illegal lol
@@lostalone9320 It's not even that annoying, they just banned em 'cause hurr durr muh feeeeelingsss' it'd appear lmao
As a Florida resident I still see them everywhere. Probably hard to enforce.
I heard they were going to enforce farmers to castrate their bulls because their Nuts are clearly visible to children as they ride by the pastures. 🤦
The plate flipper would be very useful to avoid getting caught in permanent speed trap zones lmao

@@gabeg.5310 in all states around me, VFFs HAVE to run siren at the same time as lights, can’t do one without the other
The "police lights" are, to my knowledge, illegal in every state. The temporary lights used by Fire/EMS (full time and volunteer) are a specific shade of red and have a set strobe frequency/pattern. The few vehicles I've seen with them, seem to have Fire/EMS insignias on the license plate as well.
@@andrewbohnert7097 My brother was a VFF for many years, and I think he was under this regulation as well, lights and siren.
State by state they are not illegal in my state but u can only use them on private property

@@divisiontv429 they clearly make enough to buy the cars for the giveaways, they still donate money, and I’m sure the founders get a lot of money, and the employees need to get paid. So I mean honestly it makes sense

Before the founders started the company, they went to all the law professors at their school and went through several before they finally found one who said the business idea for Omaze might be legal if executed properly. Not the kind of company I want to support.
The truck nuts… I am crying.
The fact the y’all didn’t put the “FBI open up” clip in the beginning is a straight up sin.
fun fact: When "my friend" used to live in a state with toll roads, he had a motorcycle license plate dangling under under the seat using 2 hinges. He connected a fishing line to the bottom of the plate which was routed to the handlebars. When he went through the easy-pass toll booth, he pulled the string and the plate flipped up under the seat. It was so tight!

When James mentioned the truck nutz, I remembered Nolan talking about its history in one of his videos.
"let's try to SHOOT FLAMES with that device"
*shoots water*
That has to be fuel. Anything else would make no sense at all.
@@haraberu turns out it makes perfect sense actually , how do you think exhaust rusts from the inside? if you spend some time around cars you'll get used to see brown water drip, expecially with cold starts because vapor condensates on the still cold exhaust pipes:
water vapor is one of the gases that come out of your engine and it's the only one that can condensate this easily , so when a car does many cold starts without heating up long enough, water accumulates in the whole exhaust, this is even accentuated by catalytic converters .
