Absolutely stunning show of how some modern touches and bullet design along with a good shooter/spotter combo can push stuff far past what it ever was dreamt up to do awesome
Thanks Allen, Cheers
Love your take on these legacy cartridges.
Definitely seemed to retain energy!
Thanks for sharing and cheers.
Thanks George
I can hear the bullet coming into the target when the camera is closed into the target.
Thanks you two for this demonstration.

Great job guys. I think it would be fun to do the same thing with blackpowder instead of smokeless, for giggles and grins!

Cheers
You truly are Mr Incredible
Lol, cheers Man
Quigley would be proud to see this modern day bolt action doing what a falling block did! For movies sake … great shooting as usual!! Awesome to see an older cartridge such as this laying the hammer down at long range!
Cheers man
Uwielbiam Was oglądać super sprzęt i jeszcze lepsze umiejętności.
Pozdrowienia z Polski
Thank you Luka, Cheers

The grain silos really put things into perspective!

Cheers man, thanks
That’s a wallop at 1 and a quarter miles. Great bullets really bring the old round some new life!
Thanks Duggy, Cheers
This is epic
Thanks Thumper, Cheers
Very impressive results for an old technology cartridge!
Agreed, Cheers
America you have it better. A great video about a great cartridge based on an old black powder cartridge. 2000 meters is a word. Greetings, Sven from Germany.
Australia, Cheers
@@markandsamafterworkSo it is Australia. Sorry!
As usual. - team Mark & Sam does it again!
Thanks Man
Not bad for an ol Buffalo round!!! I reckon you had at least 3 dead buff. Ol Quigley would have rolled over in his grave. Mighty proud... cheers fromMelbourne...
Lol, Cheers Fred, thanks man
Great to see such a classic round optimized with 150 years of technology and knowledge. Did your interest it the caliber/cartridge begin with 45-70? I myself had a Marlin 45-70 I have since traded on a Taylors Quiqley Sharps in 45-70.
Yes we have lots of 45-70 history and videos, Cheers
The .45-120 Sharps should be the same as the .450 Black Powder Express 3 1/4", and the .450 Nitro Express 3 1/4" it's amazing to see very old cartridge designs perform that well.
Yep, same same, lol, Cheers Man
Ah! you've done it again.
Yep, Cheers Dave
How much does elevation factor into these ELR shots?. Coming from eastern South Dakota pretty flat here. Both of you are outstanding! Thanks for sharing. Love watching your videos.
Makes no difference in the ballistics of the shot v distance, little trickier because of the extra winds, Cheers
Awesome. I routinely take my 50-110 to 1200 yards
Awesome, thanks Mike, Cheers
@@markandsamafterwork I have a siamese mauser converted to 45-70 (douglas barrel), it is ridiculously accurate. I have worked up loads for it that are close to 458 win mag but the recoil is BAD
I would have guessed a faster twist would be required but it got the job done.
Is 1in10, so all good, Cheers
Hi mark and Sam, fantastic video as always was just wondering what spotting scopes you guys use.
We use either a Nightforce or the TRACT spotting scopes, Cheers
приятно смотреть ))
Cheers
Mark, watching you load that thing, they look like anti aircraft rounds or a missile strike!
Lol, Cheers
I have a 45-150 muzzle loader,33" barrel,fff powder,385 buffalo,209 primmer.very accurate!
Awesome, Cheers
The bad guys would be falling off their horse before the sound got to them.
Lol, Cheers
45-120🧐
2000m😵💫👍✌️‼️
Cheers Kuron
Great job and I’m just addicted on your content 👁️👁️ As I see you use Atlas bipods too and what’s your experience? Is it really noticeable difference between Atlas and low budget bipods (for example Magpul) ?
Cheers from Georgia 🇬🇪
Thanks Man, and that is our bipod system, just used atlas legs, and yes our system makes a difference, Cheers 4aw-store.myshopify.com/collections/4aw-bipod-mounting
That looks like a missile lol
Lol, Cheers
That cartridge is almost big enough to require a lanyard instead of a trigger lol
Lol, Cheers Paul
👍🏼
👍👍
I like the 45-120 and was always curious about the high BC cutting edge bullets. I shoot .45-90 using loads for .458 win mag. I have not tried a high BC bullet from cutting edge because I did not believe I would have enough powder space and would never get velocities high enough to stabilize even with a 1-12 twist. On the 570 grain bullet what was your case percentage fill for the .45-120? No need for loading info just curious, you tube gets crazy if you publish anything out of their agenda. Awesome video Thank you
Not sure on percentage, but running compressed with out over pressure, Cheers
Any Idea of the velocitie aves of that round? I'm interested. Thanks for all your vidioes. [Over the ditch from you.]
mv of 2390fps, listed below video Brian, Cheers
😀👍👍
👍👍
Have you ever had an unwindy day? :) Great work otherwise!
Not many on the property, lol, Cheers
Hi guys, any chance you'd be intereeted in doing 12g slug ELR (200m or something). Thought that might be cool.
Already done, ruclips.net/video/ZYHvC9TtutU/видео.html
The itch to want to shoot further is so very tempting but I think until I can make consistent consecutive hits at 1k with my 7.62x39 I won't try anything "better". That would make it too easy. It's surprisingly capable of getting to ~800 if I pay attention.
Have you found anything that cannot and will not work 😅.
I put a Ruger American x39 in an Oryx chassis. Because of our rolling hills here in western part of Kentucky, I’m limited on range past 1200 yards. So I’ve been using the x39 to see how far I can stretch it. With handloads I’m hitting consistently at 700 yards on a 12” plate.
Nope, Cheers
A modern Buffalo cartidge
Cheers
Bloody hell, I've seen smaller rounds on the anti armour range🤔🤣You forgot to call "Heat load" before you put a round in the chamber.
Lol, Cheers Man
What camera are you using to video
ruclips.net/video/DzZH4asFKVA/видео.html
Thank you. Love the content and howdy from Texas
Wind noise makes it hard to watch a very interesting shoot
We have wind socks but this is also real outside footage, Maybe just watch Hollywood, no real stuff to bother with, lol....
0:34 👍👍👍
What is the bullet speed when hit the target at 2000 meter??
Is it in supersonic?
Nope, goes sub at around 1800 yards
@@markandsamafterwork Thank you.
is that whistle noise the bullet?
Sounds of our ELR shot ruclips.net/video/_9gxLenODhg/видео.html
Does anyone ever mention How little wobble or shake their is in there spotting scope? Amazing with that wind too.
What you are viewing is camera vision, spotting vision is clearer still, cheers
Is this the 45-120 at original velocities?
No, just using the cartridge, lol, Cheers
🙏🏻🇫🇮🙏🏻⚡⚡🇦🇺
👍👍
@@markandsamafterwork 🇫🇮⚡🇦🇺
I couldn't hit the silo's let alone a 2x2 🤣🤣
Lol, Cheers
Quigley 2000
Lol, Cheers
@@markandsamafterwork try the 95gr v max with h4350 in yer 6.5prc see what you think mark…tear a jug all to pieces…I got high as 3666fps and 1” or under
Modern ballistic technology is amazing. 3 rd shot. Hate to break it to you but that ain’t a 150 year old Sharps, lol
Cartridge is, lol, Cheers Tim
.45/120 Armour Piercing 😂
Lol, nope, Cheers
