So I’m a casual type of enthusiast. I do have what I would consider decent home set up, RP line 5.1.4 with DENON x4800h. However, work and school and family. I don’t have much time to dive into the forums anymore and I feel like a lot of this new stuff is just going right over my head. Target curved. What is magic beans?? Would be cool to have a video that explains brief summary of user friendly start up (just basic audyssey vs Dirac) then what you can do to further go down the rabbit hole (rew, minidsp, uploading your own target curve, etc). For me I just want something great off the shelf for tuning and maybe a FEW manual tweaks. Anything more becomes a chore unfortunately given current life stresses already. Reminds me of tuning cars haha. You guys rock btw.
I created Magic Beans because the target curves you get are generic and don't take into account your room, listening distance and speaker characteristics. If you've spent a decent amount on your system, which I assume you have, you might want to take the next step to get the most out of your current system. In blind listening tests, some people prefer Audyssey off to on. So, leaving the default settings might be making your system sound worse. I exhibited at a trade show to show Magic Beans True Target, and I let people compare MB, Audyssey on, and Audyssey Off. Nearly everyone preferred MB, followed by Audyssey off, and Audyssey on was last. Consider I was using some Arendal 1723 Bookshelf S speakers that measure well on their own, so maybe that's why people preferred Audyssey off to on.
@@joentell thanks for the reply. I need to do some digging on your chanel (and others) about MB as I was not aware. Does MB compete with DIRAC and AUDYSSEY? Or is it an add on to further enhance?
For me MB+MultEQ-X+miniDSP 2X4HD provides great results. Speaker cohesion is excellent, and the bass sounds big and tight. All I need to do is time and phase align my subs as perfectly as I can, and do the Post-EQ Sub Alignment RTA. My system sounds great!

@scottnagle6531 it complements those. They do not provide custom target curves. MB does
Dirac is better no question. It is more expensive and requires more preparation than audissey.
