How fortunate we are to witness this juxtaposition of two giants in the world of classical music today. Generations apart yet they are so dynamically matched to create a unique marvel of performance. If only the director/producer of the video did not keep the English (Zubin, Khatia) and the French (the commentators) conversations constantly overlaid this would be a fantastic document of our times.
It is so good to see Zubin looking his vibrant self, and of course the main event, Ms Khatia. I so love the Jewish People and of course Ms Buniatishvili. I work with languages, and I've always wanted to study languages in order to read books in the original because, as you've said, a translation will always be a translation, however talented or successful it may be. She is such a gracious young lady and musician and when she lightly hugged Mr. Mehta and gave him a little kiss on his cheek, I was very happy, too. Such dear people!
