The wheels are actually Pontiac Firebird. They're nicknamed "Honeycombs" and were designed to replace the "Snowflake" wheels used in the previous generation Firebirds.
These wheels are a 1987-1992 Trans Am wheels. The reason why they fit is since both the Camaro and Firebird share the same chassis and drivetrain components. Wheel lug spacing is 4.75 inches.
It’s a second generation small block Chevy. Made from 87-92. You can tell from the center bolt valve covers. They were an improvement over the 1st generation that were around the valve covers that made them leak.
Nice! My '90 Firebird has about 90000 miles on it. Last drove it when the Corona lockdown started. Been parked in my garage ever since without touching. I miss cruising in that car, but don't find the time nor energy to start it up again.
They even opened the hood and sprayed it nicely in the engine bay. Considering the hood was closed and that was the first time in years it had been opened there sure was a lot under there.
As another has noted, the FI Tech on the motor is clean and recent; that much dust could not have settled since its install. No doubt the car was disgusting inside from neglect and time, but the external stuff is doubtful. Of course, Trans Am wheels. Enjoy your videos.
Given how easy it is to roll back odometers from vehicles of this era, I do not believe for a second it has only 20K + miles on that car. The dust is fake, it blown on to get on youtube, how can I tell? the top of the wheels (under the wheel well) has the same level of dust as the roof of the car.
Wheels are from and 80’s Pontiac Firebird, center caps have the Firebird emblem. I had a ‘89 GTA Trans AM with same style wheels only mine were gold not black.
I am extremely impressed with your attention to detail!!!! I grew up in a car detail shop and still a little detail work on the side. I am curious what car cleaners you use? I use Car Brite products. They're amazing. I did a Pontiac Firebird a couple of years ago and it took me several hours to get it detailed. I actually do the same thing you do as far as removing the seats. I also removed all the carpet because it was heavily soiled. I scrubbed it twice and used a steam cleaner on it. The upholstery and the interior looked brand new when I got it back together. Keep up the awesome work and you have a new subscriber.
I found this channel by accident trying to find a video about the history of the Camero, and I'm so glad I did! I really like the ASMR bit as well as how you explain what you're doing! :)
Those are Pontiac trans am gta wheels. Probably put on the z28 because those were very desirable in the 80s. I believe they were produced for Pontiac by bbs wheels.
Rims are off a GTA.. not sure why someone put them on a Camaro. The dust on that car didn't make sense.. that garage wasn't dirty. Looks like it was in a place where a remodel was done fairly recently, looks like saw and drywall dust. Still an awesome car and video.
Really glad to see this wasn't just some abandoned rusty heap you were trying to resurrect, it actually ran and was in good overall condition but just needed a REALLY good clean.
Had a Iroc Z28 85 (last year they made them) mellow yellow. I still miss this car and it is one of my favorite cars of all time. Sister got it tboned and i have wanted to get another ever since.
Like the video guys. Keep up the good work and Brent what you are doing regarding mental health is fantastic. I also suffer from the similar things as yourself. That’s why I watch your videos. So yes, you have helped me a lot and I thank you!
New summit 355 and clean FiTech EFI (which weren’t available until 2016). Yeah, that dust is a little too perfect to be authentic. Your first thought was correct, it was staged.
No doubt. You did a great job, regardless of how it got that way. Do you ever take off the wheels and do the inside of the barrels, and brake caliper area?
the wheels were 16x8 staggered (frt/rear) offered by Pontiac for the trans am or formula as an option , they came out in late 86 , the gta came standard with them in 87 but were all gold instead of black. i had them on my 86. i loved them .
I was THIS 🤏 close to saying it looked fake (as in, the dust on the car was clearly placed there and not just built up for 12 years)... then I noticed the brand new drywall in the garage and realized what I was looking at.
Question, virtually every car detailing video I’ve watched you never see the wheels being removed and you only ever see them cleaned from the outside. Surely the only proper way to clean them is with them off the car .
You have to like all the dust thrown around it and the dirt splash by the tires it was driving not long ago and it starts total bs just clean it with out the drama
I’m not sure where this was found, but when the owner said she went to summit racing in Tallmadge, that is in Ohio and my father was the Chevrolet dealer there. I had a 1983 Z28 as a demo. This brought back so many memories. If it was in fact from Ohio, there is a very good chance it was bought from us. I hope the new owner has as many great memories with it as I had in mine.
Totally fake. A car would not look like that left uncovered in a garage. You can see the drip marks on the fenders. Also, that stuff accumulated under seat has clearly been put there. It looks like lint from a clothes dryer or the material you’d find inside a blanket that movers use to cover your furniture. Inside a vehicle doesn’t appear out of nowhere, it is a result of use and not proper cleaning.
If you’ve watched more than one of these videos, you’d see that mouse nests typically look like dryer lint. The dust on the car looks like drywall dust to me. Why someone would leave the car there while putting up drywall makes no sense.
The rims probably came off the firebird they have in their shop. Since it was a modified race car, they took those wheels off and probably put skinnies on the front and wider rims on the back (as you can see the stance in the video). Camaro / Firebird virtually the same car anyway. Plus, the honeycomb wheels from the firebird were a nice upgrade to any GM 5-bolt at that time. Lot of us would change the hubcover with the bird on it to something plane.
Nice! I’m curious what detailing products you’re using. I’ve gotten into Chemical Guys. I know there’s better stuff out there, I’m just learning about them as I go. IMO Chemical Guys is better than Meguiars. Wife and I found a 1992 Firebird, 80k miles, one owner. Sat in a lean to by a barn out in the country so mice wreaked havoc on wiring, vacuum lines, etc. we’ve been chasing all the chewed up stuff and getting really close to it running. So excited. It only needs front and rear bumper covers repainted but otherwise immaculate. Enjoyed this video.
You guys did a great job on the detail. The car looks to be a much higher mileage vehicle than the owner stated. Value lost when they replaced the engine instead of rebuilding the original.
Those T/A wheels are perfect. Very popular, period correct rim. I am not sure who made those for Pontiac but I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by BBS. They were THE rims to have back in the day.
Regarding mental health. I too when I was your age, maybe a bit younger, 23-25, dealt with anxiety. I was out of college and didn’t what I wanted to do with my life. For me, it was like your mind started to run away with thoughts and I couldn’t control it. What helped me was a mild medication similar to Zanax. I was able to calm down and get a hold of myself. Once I learned to calm myself down naturally I just kept at it and it worked. I changed careers and have been working for the company for 23 years. I’m extremely happy and have a great life. As you get older that anxiety goes away and you mature naturally. Stay at it and do what works for you and always try to improve. We all have rough patches in life. We all get through them. Best of luck 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for sharing. Ive been finding the same thing as you. I had to withdraw from college at a young age because of it and now i’m doing much better. Time heals everything
Just watched this video, you guys did a great job. I owned many Z28s over the years my 1st new car was 1983 Z28. The owner needs to ditch those wheels and go period correct Z28 wheels. The car needs to be repainted , that paint job is hideous. I love the 83,84 Z28 when presented in a true factory condition. When these car's came out they were in extreme popularity! Also Def Leppard was on fire along with acid washed jeans & a gold chain for the ultimate time experience. Thank you for taking me back to my high school days!😊
Glad its not just me that uses iron fallout remover as a clay mitt lube. I find it makes it so easy. Especially if going to be machine polishing anyway
Great results...it looks showroom new! Have you ever found a 1984-88 Monte Carlo SS in a barn, or stashed away in a garage??? Or...maybe a Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe?
The wheels just look great on the car, probably just wanted something different from the common 5 star wheels. Thanks for sharing, your videos are very relaxing.

So I love the car, Im pretty sure that the Z28 came standard with a 5.0L 305 v8, I don't know why they put the diamond spoked 16" Trans-Am rims on there but id rather see the original 5 point spoked 15" Camero rims of maybe gone to the same pattern but use the 17" ones from an IROC-Z, I myself have had 3 of those body style Cameos, sn 87' Z28, a 90' IROC-Z and my favorite my last one a 92' IROC-Z, both of my IROC's had T-Tops, my 92' had the H.O. engine. Love the vid.
Those wheels look like the kind that my dad had on a Buick regal when I was a kid in the late 80s. I suspect they are on this car as a style choice. They’re kinda nice looking and probably VERY affordable.

You have your Opinion and I have mine,
You don't like it that's your Personal Problem
I’m not sure where this was found, but when the owner said she went to summit racing in Tallmadge, that is in Ohio and my father was the Chevrolet dealer there. I had a 1983 Z28 as a demo. This brought back so many memories. If it was in fact from Ohio, there is a very good chance it was bought from us. I hope the new owner has as many great memories with it as I had in mine.
Absolutely staged. Modern fi tech and braided FI lines. That whole fuel system is new. BS video
only about 2hrs north of where i live!! this is pretty cool. Crazy they had all these cars yet left one in a different garage to collect dust.
Scam, would not shine like that with a wash after all those years.😡😡
The magic eraser ! Glad to see you use it. The best
The rims are from a Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am. GM made the wheels and other parts compatible with camaro's and firebirds/Trans Am's
You guys are amazing at what you do and the power washing is so satisfying.
Great video and testimony, thanks for sharing. Great work as well.
I believe those wheels were an option when you ordered the car from the dealership. They were popular on firebirds in the 1980s
You guys did a great job on the detail. The car looks to be a much higher mileage vehicle than the owner stated. Value lost when they replaced the engine instead of rebuilding the original.
Agreed that it lost value but with it being an original Cross-Fire car they did it a favor
looks like the tires came off the built firebird in the back. this is a slick way to get ppl to comment on the page. well done!
Those T/A wheels are perfect. Very popular, period correct rim. I am not sure who made those for Pontiac but I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by BBS. They were THE rims to have back in the day.
Dust tends to look like that when you apply it yourself. Lol, the rest of that garage was no were near dirty enough to explain the dust on that car.
Amazing job guys you gave this car brand new life and it looks awesome
I’m a new subscriber here, but I definitely prefer the detailing without the hokey music behind it. 10/10 would watch that part again.
@@WDDetailing Great to hear you are getting better. All the best👍
I have this same exact car at home, sitting. LOL, i have finally started to clean it up this week
Love the ASMR, Love the car!! Definitely have to find a gorgeous 5 speed Camaro for myself!!
I like it with the music
That rim style was very popular back then. BBS style rims. I had them on my Grand National.
The owner has that NE Ohio/Cleveland accent. Sounds like a bit of home. And she mentioned my MIL's hometown, Talmadge. Pretty cool.
Love the cleaning sounds❣️
Glad its not just me that uses iron fallout remover as a clay mitt lube. I find it makes it so easy. Especially if going to be machine polishing anyway
I definitely prefer the mixture of people doing work with the music. 😁
Great results...it looks showroom new!
Have you ever found a 1984-88 Monte Carlo SS in a barn, or stashed away in a garage??? Or...maybe a Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe?
I wish I didn't get rid of my 83 camaro. I painted it flat black, before flat black was popular. it was an awesome car. I miss it
Cleaning sounds are definitely awesome
The wheels just look great on the car, probably just wanted something different from the common 5 star wheels.
Thanks for sharing, your videos are very relaxing.
My dad had a 84 z28 and a 86 iroc z nice survivor 👏 and the gt 500 i believe its a 2007 good luck and God bless 🙌
wow great job restoring this beautiful car !
That is a sweet Camaro.
I like the sounds of the cleaning instead of the music
I had an 87 trans am with t-tops. Was all primer. Never painted it. Lol. Was fun to drive.
Nice work !
It looks better than new !
Wow en verdad son unos verdaderos expertos en limpieza los felicito ojalá pronto pudiera tener un auto a si para recorrer mi pais' sería Genial los felicito amigos'
That was satisfying to watch., Great car when it was built and this one looks amazing! Prefer the music to the ASMR
