    What an absolutely gorgeous watch at a very reasonable price! Cheers for a great review, mate, and really good pictures!

    What are the alternatives within its pricerange?
    Actually I like the brands history, and true to original designs.

    Exceptionally cool dial colour process and a brand going from strength to strength.

  • @Beck-Stein

    Anyone complaining of the price for this watch on strap at $750 is insane. You guys are paying crappy microbrands like serica $1,000 plus for their watches. No history and no backing of warranty from a large company. Nuts.

      Not to mention it’s not easy to get a real tropical dial except on super expensive vintage watches….

    • @Beck-Stein
      @Beck-Stein Год назад +3

      @@ahappyimago i agree. Most tropic dials are painted chocolate color and don’t go through the oxidizing process

    I love the look of 50s/60s watches, something special about that vintage vibe, love the colour and quality. Shame about the clasp, but I guess it’s age appropriate.

    How cool, they really "aged" the dial? 😮 This watch is absolutely beautiful! I'm sad for you to see it go. 💔

    Wow what a dial! Now wonder it looks so cool since so much effort is put in to make it! Pity about the lume... Great review Aviv! 👌👌

    I wanted to share my recent experience with purchasing the Nivada 3-6-9 watch.
    I ordered the watch 8 days ago and the status of the product was listed as "in stock." However, despite the watch being advertised as available, it has not yet been shipped.
    When I contacted customer care to inquire about the delay, I was met with a rude and unhelpful response. They informed me that the standard shipping time for the watch is between 3 and 14 working days.
    While I understand that shipping delays can occur, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service and the fact that the website did not provide accurate information about the availability of the product.
    I hope that my experience can serve as a cautionary tale to those who are considering purchasing this watch. While Nivada 3-6-9 seems to be a great watch, the customer service and shipping times have left a lot to be desired.

    Beautiful watch, if you can get one that works. Mine arrived after a three month wait totally dead. Would take a wind but no life. Timegrapher confirmed it to be dead on arrival. Someone at Nivada missed a QC check along the way. Sent back to the AD for a refund, got no refund on my shipping charge (both ways), so I am writing off this brand. Two weeks on and no response to my message from Nivada. Also, according to other posts on other videos, this watch possibly has a Hong Kong manufacture connection.

    It's a very nice watch and I am a sucker for the 369....that particular colour looks fantastic....the price is a stretch in my opinion, if it was 700-800 with both strap, bracelet and improved lume then that would be a reasonable proposition....
    Most enjoyable review my friend....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

    Nice Review. I bought it a few days back and I am really happy with it.
    In the outro you mention that you cannot really ignore that there are other alternatives at that pricepoint and it seemed like you had one particular in mind?
    I am a big RLX Explorer fan (in fact this is the only RLX I really want) and maybe there is a Tudor Ranger to be similar out there... but tbh, thats it... I do not know any other comparable watch. At least none with some real history in the background. I considered the Tudor Ranger for some time but in my pov, the Tudor is too clean, too boring. Dont get me wrong, Tudor has some watches I really want. I considered buying a BB Ceramic, which is (in my pov) great value for the price - and I was really hot for the ranger when rumors were spread... and then extremely disappointed when I saw it for the first time... definitely not my cup of tea.
    Oh I lost track... which happens when talking/writing about watches... sorry.
    So my only question: Which watches did you have in mind when complaining about the pricepoint?

    • @MyAffordableWatchCollection
      @MyAffordableWatchCollection  Год назад +1

      I'm not sure I had a specific watch in mind when writing that part, and I guess you're right when you say that it doesn't have a DIRECT contender at this price point. But from my POV, when coming to spend that kind of money on a watch - though it is a great watch it probably won't be the first one on my mind.

    Btw, if you don't mind me asking, where could I purchased a strap like your's?
    Also, I do agreed with you regarding the bracelet had 2 crucial flaws.

    Nivada: recently surprised to see so many at Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) airport. Many of them were beautiful (old line), some of them were quartz, some of them looked cheap(not that good looking). With the impossible access to ETA movements this brings to a hard choice for watch mfgr. : either you go the cheap way (quartz) or mechanical (low end/Seiko movement with so/so accuracy) or(high-end/Soprod movement which have a reputation for accuracy). Quite a balancing act! The ETA move to keep their movements for their own product line is changing the game. Another player could have been Sellita (to lower cost) but Nivada decided not to take that route.
    Your Nivada model is very beautiful 😍 but price is high because of choices of the bead of rice bracelet. You can’t have your cake & eat it too 😪. When buying a watch always try to buy it with the bracelet, later purchase make these mighty expensive, straps can easily be bought afterwards.
    Thanks so much for your review 👌❤️👍, their chronographs are awesome & should be more in the forefront! Awesome company!

      Thanks for watching and sharing your insights!
      I believe ETA were forced to make that move because they were becoming a monopoly in their field. I could be mistaking.
      That's a great tip about always opting for the bracelet when possible.

    At 5:28, you describe the lume as "fauxtina lume." Is it really fauxtina, or is it regular lume that went through the patination process that was used to turn the dial from black to brown? The

    • @MyAffordableWatchCollection
      @MyAffordableWatchCollection  Год назад

      It's both actually. It is my understanding that they used an already fauxtina colored lume and further cooked it to be even more "aged".

    I know I'm not alone in actually appreciating a pressed clasp over a milled one, especially on a vintage inspired watch. They are generally lighter and less bulky. Vintage watches are usually much more comfortable to wear, one reason is their lighter weight compared to many modern watches.

    Buyers beware! I just purchased one. I have not received it yet, but was advised by Nivada that my watch was shipping from Hong Kong. I went back to the Nivada website to verify "Swiss Made" and "All of our watches are made in Switzerland in true Nivada Grenchen authenticity..." So I contacted customer service requesting the country of manufacture. I was given a vague response about fulfillment centers, so I asked directly"Where was the watch made?" The response: "Hong Kong." More than misleading: dishonest.

    Once in a while, we all should thank Rolex for providing the basic design for thousands of watches "designed" in its image.
    Then, we should apologize to brands like Pagani Design, Parnis, and many other companies who openly, and without BS, homage the design of watches they've deemed popular enough to bring to the market under their own name.
    And finally, the watch snob-darlings of the world should be gratulated to basically do the same, adopting a wonderful, timeless design, slapping a phantasy price on it, tweak it a bit, then having the chutzpah to introduce these homages as their own, then being hailed as the next best thing to bread, and getting away with it, reaping the admiration of the high horology world (rightfully so).
    .
    Now, this watch is an absolute beauty, the color is the color that all watches deserve on their dial, and the design......
    .
    Aviv,
    A wonderful, honest review, as always.
    I wish you would live next door, so we could discuss watches every day and I could learn from your obviously deep knowledge. 😊
