Love Mysterious code watches. Very classy, i have one with Easten Arabics. I want to see you reviewing the new 38mm Bregeut style chronograph. Apparently it has a ST19 option as well, if true that it has a displayback, a black would be a perfect dress watch for me.

This is amazing! It’s impossible to find 35mm chronographs much less at this price. They are sold out though! I can’t wait till they get more back in stock. Do you know of any more chronographs 36mm or under?
Hmmm... There's the Mini Focus bullhead chronograph that is a homage to the Citizen bullhead. It's around $17 on AliExpress but the quality is not even close to this Mysterious Code. There's also the Kuoe Old Smith 90-010, but it's $900 and currently sold out.
I'll have to think about it and try to find more 🙂
I like the vibe of the design. It appears to me that the chronograph minute recorder doesn’t change until 3 or so seconds after the second hand sweeps past the 12/0 marker. 3m45s
I think you're right. It's the branding. Many find it off-putting. For me personally the mineral crystal is the biggest negative.
Mysterious Code is actually a great naming, you can easily compare that to Studio Underd0g, Undone and so on, aimed for younger audience, so can't complain at all for branding at this point.

after i restored a heavily scratched and pitted hardlex, personally i dont mind mineral crystals bc they seem to be more clear than sapphire. thank you for this video, im thinking to get one for my youngest nephew. hes 16 and the only one who didnt catch the watch collecting bug lol
They're definitely less reflective than sapphire crystals. That's a good point.
I have a different model chronograph from Mysterious Code, and it's beautiful.
Honestly they have so many cool chronographs that the only reason I chose this one is because it was the cheapest at the time I bought it.
I'm pretty sure that I will pick more up in the future 🙂
i got a MILITADO small seconds quartz in champagne/salmon for sixty nine calms. looks super expensive! its a homage to the (baltic small seconds small rotor)

Why do we bash names like Mysterious Code/Pagani Design, but yet give a pass to names like A. Lange & Sohne, Parmigiani Fluerier and Jaeger Le-Coutre?
@@Jelloc I guess because names like Jaeger LeCoultre have a meaning - i.e. the people who founded the company. "Mysterious Code" on the other hand, in the context of the watch, is just meaningless guff. A bit like having things like "Harbour Patrol" written on department store t-shirts for no apparent reason.
If they improve their names, the price would go up 😅

This would be a really nice purchase if it didn’t have that ridiculous name splattered over the dial in that ghastly font, so while I like the watch, I just couldn’t look down at it.. China needs to improve its name game big time!
A dumb name could definitely be a deal breaker. There are quite a few Chinese brands that make some nice watches but I can't bring myself to any of them... IX&DAO comes to mind...
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection Yeh, IXDAO watches are stunning from what I can tell, but I’m put off by the name. Berny, Addiesdive and Steeldive make some excellent budget watches, but again, I’m NOT wearing a watch with “Berny” slapped on the dial. If that makes me a snob, so be it! 🤣
Great review! I actually like the name Mysterious Code. I have seen a lot worse. (Addiesdive, Watchdive, Steeldive, Boderry, etc.) Mysterious Code makes me think of aliens and UFOs, especially with their vintage style '50s or '60s chronos. The salmon dial looks classy as hell. I would have preferred acrylic rather than mineral though but still a bargain. Does the VK64 in this have a running seconds hand? Or is it hidden under the dial at 6 o'clock where the 3rd subdial should be?
The VK64 does not feature a running seconds hand. Other VK6x do.

That's the only way china can sell more watches is to install bulletproof Japanese mechanisms in them.
I'll stick to my Swiss, German and Japanese made only watches.
