In mid-1985, 23-year-old Jason Scheff joined the multi-platinum band Chicago, after Peter Cetera had departed the band to continue his solo career. His lead vocals were debuted on the 1986 single "25 or 6 to 4", a remake of their 1970 hit, then followed up with "Will You Still Love Me?"

David Foster actually wrote this for Cetera for the next album Chicago 18. But as we know Cetera went Solo. Thankfully they kept it for Chicago abd Jason Scheff took the reigns. Sang this song beautifully 😍. Probably my favorite song next to Hard To Say Im Sorry. Theres actually an A I. Version of Will You Still Love Me of Cetera. Search Will You Still Love Me Cetera. Theres a record in the thumbnail. Gives you a glimpse how it might have sounded if Cetera sang it.

    Will You Still Love Me?"
    Take me as I am
Put your hand in mine now and forever
Darling here I stand, stand before you now
    Deep inside I always knew
It was you, you and me
Two hearts drawn together bound by destiny
It was you and you for me
Every road leads to your door
Every step I take forever more
    [Chorus:]
Just say you'll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I don't want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
    'Cause I can't go on
    No, I can't go on
    I can't go on
    If I'm on my own
    Take me as I am
Put your heart in mine, stay with me forever
'Cause I am just a man who never understood
I never had a thing to prove
    Till there was you
    You and me
Then it all came clear so suddenly
How close to you that I wanna be
    [Chorus]
    [Bridge:]
Do you believe a love could run so strong?
Do you believe a love could pass you by?
There was no special one for me
I was the lonely one, you see
But then my heart lost all control
Now you're all that I know

For those who are young but enjoy old music.. your not different.. you are how do I say it without disruption!!! Old souls.. this isn't your first time around so to speak... ever wonder why your hands look like they been soaking in dishwasher? That's first sign but usually that only occurs when there have been many times around but not always.. I say now as I said when I was 14 listening to old music.. pay attention to what people say as its their true colors speaking of themselves, but never let what they say describe who you are.. always be what you expect of yourself. . Know right from wrong and listen to your gut if it's saying something while your taking tips from your heart and life will be a sweet ride.. I'm 42 have had a few near death experiences and no I am not religious I am spritual.. we are all but a flicker of light on this planet.. we all have control over the switch to make us shine brighter. This is a beautiful song.. always loved Chicago. . Songs of love will always win some hearts if not many.. cheers ya'll..

I know you posted this quite a while ago but happen to run across it today. I was very blessed to have two fine men in my life. I will use my stepfather as an example because I just came back from a hunting trip. My stepfather loved the woods and he left me a portion of his hunting Farm. I spread his ashes at several of his favorite spots. I am now a grown man in my 60s but every year I spend some time hunting over his ashes and we have long talks. It's mainly me thanking him for being a great stepdad but sometimes I unload my problems there also. I'm suggesting that you find a spot a ballpark or some place that you spent time or even better someplace that he enjoyed spending time and have a conversation with him make sure you leave space for him to answer. I guarantee that your dad already knows how you feel but this might help you find out for yourself. if it doesn't work the first time keep going back or find another spot. Best wishes Simon

Jason Scheff lived literally right down the street from me a few years ago. I met him and he gave me an autographed album (super nice guy). After I moved away I’ve grown to really love his songs with Chicago. I wish I realized it earlier so I could’ve let him know in person how great I think his songs are.

Summer of '86, hanging out at the mall, running around our neighborhood on our bikes. Going to the movies, just spending time outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. As Summer turned into fall, and the air pulled a chilly turn around our suntans, School would pull us into academia, but.. for that one sacred second, you see this angel, that one person in the hallway between classes, heading to the buses at the end of the school day... and you want to learn the meaning of this song SO much, that it hurts. Your romantic mind and innocence think that you have to be hurt in love to be in love, but the exact opposite. Love should set you free, and let you be as strong in a relationship, as you were before it.

I grew up in the 80's and it was by far the best era ever! We had the best music, you could understand it and it usually had a meaning and had nothing to do with drugs or gangs or shooting people! Chicago was one of my favorites, reminds me of my first love...........and heartache!

Wanna feel old? Jason Scheff has been the lead singer for Chicago ten years longer than Peter Cetera was.
Also, check out Bill Champlin. He went from full beard/short hair on Chicago 17, to bushy mustache here, to clean shaven and shoulder-length hair by Chicago 19. All in the space of about four years.

Songs back in the 80's & 90's were written with a purpose & message to send out to the listeners..The songs had a direction & knew what kind of story it wants to tell..it had body, it had soul & heart..it was more sincere.. these days, it's like the songwriters have simply run out of ideas, so they mish mash a whole list of beat, with no thought at all for the listeners..and the lyrics are just not as poetic & beautifully written like before..so sad..!
