- This watch has come as bit of a surprise to me
I am not a dress watch guy, never really have been, that said I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely finished and well executed this Baltic Prismic was....both on and off the wrist

The purple dial just gets me drooling at this point. A fantastic watch for me.
Purple: Middle ground between dignified blue and aggressive red. 👌
That dial is fantastic. The movement looks pretty nice, too. This piece could probably rock an onion-shaped crown & look good.
That is a seriously gorgeous watch. Baltic is blowing my mind these days!
The purple dial especially. Just wished they gave us 100m wr
Yeah, but 30meters is splash proof, and that’s pretty much all that most of us need.
@@martinkaplan1805
I also like to clean my watches under a briefly running tap, so I only go screw down and 100m
Simply stunning! They're really killing it with their recent dress watches.
finally someone who makes good reviews of micro brands, especially Baltic, is very nice because it is a beautiful brand that delivers quality for an affordable price and you do not pay extra for the brand name, very nice how you visualize the details with good explanations.
Glad you enjoy it!
38x46 and tapered mesh bracelet would be a dream.
Baltic can seemingly do no wrong!!!
That is SO good, and bang on price (imo) with the quality and movement etc.
I'd wear that proudly!
Baltic do such a good job its amazing what they are doing.
Wow! This intro make’s me feel identified, i’m not a dress watch guy but…sometimes…
Very good video in everyway too
As much as I like the brand, there is one part of this watch I would spend money on… the bracelet.
A fitted curved-end mesh is awesome and unique. Looks like it could be made by the same factory that produces the Serica mesh.
Hope they make the bracelet available separately!
Thoughtful design, tastefully done
Beautiful. I love it 😻
It is a looker! No question. I just don’t want one. I think I to really don’t have an overbearing need or requirement for a dress piece. Still, it is stunning… great review as always.
Love your content Peter!
Thanks John Paul 👍
Great looking watch and great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the in-depth review, great video!
Glad you liked it 👍
I’ve tried this on. The dial is lovely although I’m not the biggest fans of the pyramidal indices. The movement is nice and the bracelet is really really good
I like it a lot ! I'm not so much of a dress watch guy either but this one look fabulous 🤩
I saw this on FB today and then I checked them on the website. I have to say that they are really nice and the details on the dial look pretty sharp. This could be a dress watch I could wear.
Baltic has been really making a mark! Great review, my friend
I agree, thanks for the feedback Alix, appreciated my friend
Green dial looks pretty sharp
Grey dial looked absolutely stunning on your wrist in the outdoor shots.
Wish the movement had a bigger power reserve for the price but that would add man hours to customize thr movement
That is a lovely watch. They got so many of the small details right on this. 36mm not for me sadly. Great camera work as always Peter thanks!
🙏
Baltic are a nice brand and the watch look great
Hello and thanks for this video Peter. I'm a real dress watches fan, as I am a really microbrands fan, as I am a french guy. Thus, I would love this watch. And, sadly, I do not. Because I just don't understand one point on this watch : the indices. The pyramidal ones are not matching with the 3 and 9 ones, which are not matching with the cuted 6 one wich is not matching with the far too big 12 one. Except that point, this is - as usual - something really well made by Baltic, one of the best microbrand of these last 5 years, or perhaps 10 years. A serious and smart brand, as Christophe Ward, Direnzo, Wise or Dan Henry for example.
Progressive styles seem antithetic to dress watches, but IMO they are necessary to keep dress watches alive. This is a banger.
Wow, another fantastic looking piece from Baltic - you could easily build a Baltic only collection covering all bases.
I am curious about that fine and very dense mesh bracelet though - it does not pull hairs, right?
No hair pulling for me on this one...and I am HAIRY 😂
Thanks for sharing Peter.
Like you, my lifestyle isn't geared towards dress watches but this one looks not too dressy on the strap.
I'd rather have it on the strap than the bracelet.
Stunning....see you on the 25th with the delivery Peter ;-)
Looking forward to it..🙏
Really beautiful watch. Maybe too reminiscent of the Chopard LUC 1860 however
Nice watch...nice review...Big fan of Baltic and Peter Kosta
😊😂👍
Great video
I really like this. My only dress watch is vintage and very simple in design, whereas there is a lot here to keep you interested. Maybe my only gripe would be the polished hour markers that could be mistaken for zirconias in some lighting situations. I hate zirconias on watches. Other than that, it's a really lovely watch.
Great review. I'm not a dress watch guy either, but that's a damn fine piece. I'd prefer it on the mesh if I was gonna get one. Cheers Pete.
I love that dial. Really nice overall. People are gonna whinge about the bracelet but, which makers haven't used bracelets that's others have used and popularised....
Oyster style anyone....?
Sharp looking watch and my gripes are the same as yours. A bit pricey but it sure looks great
I'm not a fan of dress watche either, but the quality and finish are greate. Baltic is doing a great job of turning clasic styles watches with modern touches that makes it stand out in the world of micro brands
Yeah, good point. I like doing that with my watches too, although my dress watches don’t get nearly dirty enough to warrant that. I’ll use a polishing cloth with them.
Such a great review. So thorough. The only thing I'd add is the crystal diameter, which is a measurement no one talks about, but is as important to how a watch wears as case diameter and lug to lug. 🤙🏽💪🏽
BTW love the tagline "enjoy the watch that's currently on your wrist "
What is going on with compact lug-to-lug and then massive strap protrusion?? First the Yema and now this Baltic!
Maybe they are targeting the smaller watch fans but still closing an eye to the 'undecided'
A lot to like here, I think overall this is well executed. At the same time, for this price point and a watch this petite I would expect a movement sized well for the case instead of that x-small ETA. For a micro brand that has its pick of any available commercial movement, I'm not sure why they'd go with one that doesn't seem a good fit for this watch size wise. Either way, great looks on the outside, and cool material choices.
I like it ! the price not so much. Thanks Peter !
👍
It's a very intriguing design. I feel that they went all out in terms of flourishes and finishes. More a maximalist than a minimalist design in my view! My first impression, however, is that it may also come across as trying too hard. It's an awful lot of bling, and I miss the subtlety that good dress watches often have, even when they're atrociously expensive. The textured leather looks really nice. I'd like more straps with such a texture please. The mesh is again interesting but almost a mirror strip next to the watch and really sends that bling over the top. And ultimately, for what it is, I'm not sure the price Baltic is asking for this is justified. Are we supposed to value that steel and titanium case (what bits are made of what and why?) or just the particular combination of applied steel elements on the dial or is the movement especially costly? The capped pivots show there's been great attention to detail (I really wish more brands would cap) and the whole composition is a really assured stylistic statement. While I do consider myself to be a dress watch guy, I am simply not sure this is hitting the right stylistic notes for me and for that reason I'm more likely to struggle with the price on top.
Beautiful watch, Pete. Love the mesh bracelet and there is no gaps between the lugs. Nice. Baltic makes interesting watches.
They provide curved straps with curved spring bars and it might be hard to find a replacement.
What a brand.
Is 9.2 mm really ultra thin for a manual wind dress watch with no complications?
Next model to be released will be the one with the elongated indices, the Baltic shashlik
Hahaha
I’m still on the fence simply because I seriously doubt about the reliability of the movement
Personally I prefer the look of the Baltic Hermétique but I haven’t seen either of them up close. What do you reckon Peter?
Yep, definitely less "out there" thats for sure...a more classical cleaner design.
I too have not hand hands on with the Hermétique, so not too sure about the finishing etc
@@PeterKotsa the Hermétique looks great to me. Like the crown design too although not sure how nice it would be to operate
Hands giving me grand seiko vibes
Oh, Peter! I want to like Baltic… there’s always something aesthetically or technically that just doesn’t work for me…
There’s an initial “Oh” Then a “huh”…
Fair call, its not everyones cup of tea thats for sure 👍
Beautiful watch. Not sure at 36mm how it would look on an 8 inch wrist? Pete, you should have at least one dress watch mate! Love that dial!
Im working on finding the right dress watch now..😊
Major or microbrand I am not fussed..as long as I like the looks and overall expereince
Price is a bit steep, but I can see why many would say it's worth it.
Fantastic…..forget about it being a dress watch…..which is misnomer!
Would buy for the right price - that is half of what they’re asking
Just seems a bit too busy for my liking, but a very nice watch Baltic well done.
I know this sounds silly, but after being in the watch game for a long time I really wish most movements in watches are quartz movements. The cost of ownership for a quartz watch is drastically lower while also being much more reliable and accurate. This design really catches my eye, but I wish it was quartz lol
That’s a valid point, but I think anyone who has more than one watch should probably have a mix of quartz and mechanical. For me, a dress watch would only be worn occasionally, so I would want a mechanical. I had a quartz dress watch and every time I had occasion to wear it the battery was dead. Solar quartz could be a solution, but I would have to find something I actually liked.
my entry to auto watch were buying 2 used old seiko 5, both soon dead and need repair. Gotta say, i get what you mean and i wish VH31 is more commonly used
I'd like to see bulova start supplying a version of their precisionist movement to smaller brands
I'm sure there is a channel out there for people like you. They review g shock watches.
Don't like batteries.
The official photos appear to show curved spring bars (amazing), but your version doesn't?
These seem straight to me...😊
I like dress watches, or what back in the day would have been called "a watch" but this one with the weird indices is a bit too over the top for me. I do like the size and movement but not the price.
Peter I guess the legato diver was a scam! Sorry don’t know where else to post.
From what I have heard and observed it seems some sort of foul play
I actually stopped doing Kickstarters because of this event. Very sad bro, very sad
looks amazing but too pricey for me.
Beautiful looking watch, but a tad pricey
@IDKline I agree, but wish it were $100 less. But it is beautiful. Baltic has raised their bar.
I wanted to buy it, the price was 999 euro. When I opened the website again, the price changed to 1220 euro. I really don't like that kind of crap, so I'm never buying anything from that brand, even tho I was going to buy a brown Hermetique in a couple of months and I was considering the Aquascaphe. I wish them all the best, but Baltic is a hard pass from now on
Thats very strange..I just checked and it is indeed 990.
Maybe a glitch?..
Nonetheless thanks for sharing
@@IDKline It's a little different for me - I'm from Europe, for me the price now is - €1,217.70. When I click on the particular model, it's €1,291.50 with the bracelet.
Before, is was 999 (or 990, I don't remember exactly). It looks like the US price was shown when I first entered their website, maybe it was a bug. I'm not using a VPN
Mate, I'm more and more a dress watch lover and I have much less opportunities to wear them than you 😅
Hahaha
Yea if they made this in solar quartz i would be down. At this price it’s just too expensive.
I have to get a dress watch one day to wear whilst practicing my corporate snicker. Not!
In whole honesty, and i mean it trully, i'm not impressed at all. In fact, the dial design is a big minus imo. All kinds of geometrical shapes, brushed/polished elements, ups and downs, covered in any possible way. And all this inside a bland case with a thin bezel. Even the (nice indeed) strap has some wearability limits.
I'll be more harsh, saying that Baltic is getting in a strange path. The vintage-alike vibe the brand got, was more because of their dial designs, not caring that much about "weird" movements. Upgrading those and trying to keep the price low, but bringing on not that refined designs (plus the hype of a recess thin crown - sic!) may help as long as the brand is hyped. But for how long?
Yes mate, had my coffee(s), my day was fine (although it's cold and raining), but have to say things as i see them.
Thanks for the review, be well, cheers.
PS I can find many Citizens, EcoDrives or autos, with better design, specs and price ofc! And Citizen is just an example. Rant end...😜
Better out than in Stavros..I always expect truth and honest opinion from you brother 👍
I suppose my biggest gripe with the watch, apart from the price would have to be the thin crown...for a manual wind, it was frustrating during the week not having enough real estate.
As for design, in the hand and on the wrist, I found it worked.
Thats just me 😊
Thanks for sharing, stay warm and dry, enjoy the rain and have another coffee on me bro 😊😂
Chinese movements leaves me wondering about this brand .....
With a Swiss movement it's more compelling .
An okay watch for women
36mm with 20mm lug width is just a stylistic mistake...
It’s a miss for me.
Nice design but 36mm? Too small for me unfortunately.
Anyone else sick of videos with “preproduction” watches? What’s the hurry, produce the watches and show them to us. No need to explain to me how the watch company need to judge by the generated interest on the video how many watches to build, not my problem 😂 obviously not a knock on Pete 👌
Totally agree, I have made mention to quite a few companies that it's better to have the 'real deal' in the hand in order to critique it properly
Well said Nik, cheers
Nice but not seeing value and doesnt have the brand cache to justify this!
As much as i like Baltic, they just copied the Serica (another french microbrand) mesh bracelet. Finish and clasp are the same.
Serica 5303
Did they copy it or just use it...?
You suggesting that Serica invented this style of bracelet is the most ignorant, insane thing I've heard in watches in awhile.
@@calebdlara Baltic did exactly the same bracelet. Where did I said Serica invented it? They were just first before Baltic. Just don't understand the whole hype about Baltic.
@@watchfreaks we're not talking about hype. That's irrelevant. When you claim they are copying Serica, that would mean that Serica came up with the idea. Serica did not come up with that bracelet, clasp, finishing, or anything else about it. Saying this is a copy of Serica is like arguing one burger restaurant copied the other simply because they both serve burgers. Neither restaurant invented the burger, they just both serve them. It's a false argument.
Meh...too fussy for me
I normally like Baltic watches but this one has so much 'bling' it looks cheap.
First of all I would never buy any french mechanical watch cuz their QC is dogS***.
And at this price point one could easily get a nice serviced Omega Constellation Pie Pan which is faaaar superior to this watch in every single aspect.
I’m not having this at all. This is not a balanced dial, confusing design styles, delicate but chunky and industrial. I’m sure people will like it but defo not for me
Dial is cramped, needs to be a 40mm
Another commercial
Sorry..who are you?
@@PeterKotsa you want my name?
It would be nice...so many keyboard warriors just come and go and leave comments like yours. If you feel this is an advert or commercial, feel free to share your thoughts why @@1vbAPiYk
Look like made china or allie express i don t like
Well, yeah. Chinese microbrands are much the same as European ones these days... But cheaper
DON'T buy any baltic watches, they are garbage. I ordered their MR01 for 605 euros, paid in full, in advance. I received the watch 7 months later. It ran 9 MINUTES fast per hour (not 9 seconds). The b.o.r. bracelet was very cheap, I have $100 watches with vastly superior bracelets. And the return process was a nightmare. They couldn’t: find my address, couldn’t send a prepaid return label. Wanted to refund my money to paypal when it was not used for the purchase. So I paid for the return shipping
and they committed in writing, to refund the shipping cost. Then they refused to pay for the return shipping cost after receiving their returned watch. This company is wildly incompetent, and massively dishonest.
For me Baltic is such an overrated brand. They ask for top dollar for gorgeous watches with mediocre moments like miyota 8 series, chinese micro rotor anf st19. $600 is way to much when many other brands do it for half the price like san martin. This is $1100 for 7001. Moment is so old and has been mastered by chinese manufacturers to high standards. This movement comes in $400-500 fakes that are so good that without a real version stitting next to it you cannot tell. Its not even decorated that well. At this price id rather pick up used Longines. A recognized brand with a long history.
Pete, like your reviews , but this is the lady's watch all day long.
What man would wear this ?!!!
Got to do better.
Ouch...hahaha
I think its classy..harkening back to a by gone era.
I think thats the beauty of this hobby, what is nice in one persons eye isn't in another...very personalised 👍👍
@@IDKline
No argument there, 36mm watch back then would have been just right.
One has to look at the old photos and films to see the size of the people then and now.
Each to their own but watch like this would look ridiculous on my wrist.
Your lifestyle is wrong
I like Baltic and what they do in general... I think these have great bracelets but I'm not a big fan of these dials. Perhaps it will be an unpopular opinion, but they give me the impression of being Merkur homages... 🤔
